This is definitely not Mattel's fault. But it is a really big bummer imo. I do think Jarrett is a guy who could be back with WWE eventually. So hopefully we get that Ultimate someday. I do question what is possible with him. The Major Pod guys made him in his New Gen and AE WWF looks. I wonder if that's an option for Jazwares as a Luminaries figure. Although, I think they've done a really poor job in that department when they have access to guys like Jake, Jerry Lynn, Taz, Sting, and the only real throwback we've gotten is Jericho (with that second Owen on the way). Yeah, I have little hope for the Luminaries line tbh...So many guys they already should have done by this point and haven't. |

The fact that the render was shown will always be a painful reminder of how close we were to finally getting a Double J. Definitely a tough blow for New Generation fans.
Mattel will simply have to move to Plan B which involves releasing a Lex Luger/Lex Express box set that includes the bus, his ring jacket, 9 different heads, USA Zubaz, a legitimate steel elbow and a packet of leftover IcoPro.

I don't even think its coming down to a rights issue anymore because that company that makes the old Hasbro looking figures made a 1994 King of Harts Owen in a pink singlet. If Jazwares is willing AND able to make any Owen gear, I really don't understand why'd they make such an obscure one for his first figure. I also found it weird that they did that early 90s Jericho in such an off the wall gimmick and gear when they could've just made a cool ECW/New Japan/WCW look that fans would recognize more. Kind of gives me the impression that they're not doing anything that is distinctly from a property that WWE owns. |

As in, they don't produce the volume and aren't a big toy company. I read that they cannot do any of the "WWF" looks for guys whatsoever. They could make Owen say in his pink singlet, but they'd have to do their own graphics, as the WWE would own copywrites on whatever the designs were. Me and a few friends were talking about them maybe doing Jarrett in the Luminaries line and we all pretty much agreed that if they did, we'd most likely be getting his babyface Memphis run look before anything. |

I don’t see any reason for Jarrett to come back to the company either. They already did the Hall Of Fame deal. Clearly Hunter didn’t want him in the position he was hired for. Feels like by the time he leaves AEW he will be completely done with on air stuff. So I doubt we see anything of him WWE figure wise in a long while, if ever.
