There's no way I'm reading all of that.
I'm sorry for your loss, or congratulations.

Guess someone didn’t get their Harley Race under the Christmas tree this morning.
Seriously though, can’t be helped if the deal expired and they weren’t given the green light by WWE because he wasn’t under a deal. It’s easy to be the keyboard Karen and complain cause you aren’t working the business side of it.
Be happy we are getting it re-released. Then step outside and smell some fresh air.
Merry Christmas everyone.

I am having a good christmas day by the way to everyone.
I don't drink egg nogg, cause its gross.
My packers just beat the dolphins at there own house.
I bought a bunch of figures that i wanted, mainly online.
I was able to get a harley race for $50 on ebay before it was known about the set getting cancelled and the order cut.
That was Nov 16, 2018, so yeah 5 years probably from the start of this debacle to the end when people can finally order harley via ringside, amazon, etc.
I just simply do not buy that lines are penciled in 2 years in advance. You could have made harley a ringside/amazon/etc exclusive while you still had the rights.
People should know this is mattel and this is how slow they move and these are the facts.
The facts don't care about your feelings, Merry Christmas.

the only interesting thing id want to have expanded on is the fact that ONE person seems to be the source for the Harley figures and im not quite sure how that could happen. ill be candid and say i ended up buying the entire set he was offering and it worked out really good financially. especially with the BAF of the set ending up being stupendously rare aswell i thought the value was worth it. Yeah the way this set ended up in the hands of one seller in Canada was strange. With all the discount retailers in the U.S. it was an odd choice by Mattel??? Walmart??? But I found one in a Wal Mart and I’m happy it’s being re-released and hopefully we get an NWA Harley a Vader manager Harley and an LJN inspired Ultimate Coliseum Harley.

I usually try not to speak out on opinions but give Mattel a break.
The fact they are righting a distribution wrong at all should be applauded.
Plenty of other toy companies out there who face distribution issues with a lot of their product.
Kudos to Mattel for giving collectors a second shot at this figure.

Yes i am trying to get the seller to tell me there story because its got to be at least somewhat interesting. We exchanged a few messages a while ago but has not replied back. I have some theories but i would like to know the truth whatever that is. The problem is its probably only a matter of time before this thread gets locked. There are other members on here that like to name call, hopefully the mods can clean that up and this can be an actual discussion. If anyone at mattel would like to set me straight and show me i am wrong i welcome it.

There are other members on here that like to name call, hopefully the mods can clean that up and this can be an actual discussion. If anyone at mattel would like to set me straight and show me i am wrong i welcome it. You have to take responsibility for what you write and how you come across too. I'm sure that people on here would love to have an actual discussion, but when you start it off with Mattel being old, slow, and they should feel ashamed for not being able to release a figure that they no longer had the rights to, that doesn't kick off the right tone nor will it attract serious conversation (aka you knew what you were setting up with the way you wrote stuff). Then you took one person saying you were entitled as an insult and doubled down with the entitlement - that you want to know the whole story and hold WWE/accountable. Really? Over an action figure? The only thing I think Mattel is guilty of is underestimating the demand for the figure, which was probably blown out of proportion since it was hard to find at Walmart. Just like Strongbow, no one was freaking out about that figure until they could no longer have it. And I don't blame Mattel for underestimating it since they had tons of Legends that pegwarmmed over the years. Like others have mentioned in the discussion, lines are planned 18 months to 2 years in advance, his deal expired, and he also passed away. We don't know any estate issues that might have went on behind the scenes. On top of that, I'm sure WWE and Mattel wait a certain amount of time to contact family/estates out of respect. I'm pretty sure I would not have a positive response to any company bothering me while I was grieving so they could make money off of a loved one that just passed away. As for the story for the eBay seller, Mattel has stated in the past that exclusives are open to international sellers/retailers. IIRC other countries, like Australia, have received cancelled/delayed exclusives too (NWO, LWO, Larry 4 pack, BAF sets, etc.). I really don't think it's some huge conspiracy. The people at Mattel have heard complaints from people on this board for years and instead of thanking them for listening to us (like I thought the direction of this thread was going to go) and working hard/pushing for him to get resigned and back in the line, they get this thread on Christmas.

Well, if I had my way, Harley wouldn’t have been reissued at all (or any other figure for that matter). And no I don’t have the the elite of Harley! Think he’d have made a cool addition to the CC Ultimate line…
As for the comment about the so called lack of “communication”, I think Mattel does a pretty awesome job of interaction and communication with us as collectors. Can’t keep everyone happy I guess.

"That Legends roster is just like any other roster. Talents come and go from it. But you know, new deals are signed, deals end. But the second we got Harley back, we plugged him right into Elite Greatest Hits. So we're fortunate that line exists, and we're fortunate Harley is back in the mix, so that everybody that wants that figure can now own it" - Steve from the Q&A.
Sounds to me his deal expired after his first release. Im not sure what Mattel could have done to get him out sooner, more than what they did.

Yeah I dont see why Mattel is getting heat for this honestly. It ultimately comes down to Mattel didnt expect Race to pass away less than a year after this figure hit the shelves. As far as we know a King Harley re-release or even NWA Harley could have been planned for late 2019/early 2020 and his passing put it on hold.
On top of that when it comes to Legends deals you gotta look at who pushes for the old timers. Chances are WWE lost the deal with Race estate and it wasnt until Triple H took over, who was a HUGE Race fan, and decided to get Race back under a deal.

my only question, is why not put him in the Coliseum Collection? They keep using up all the attires for that line, on normal elites.

Sorry i am a few days late, i honestly have not been paying attention. Literally the first questions to Steve's question thread. Credit to AmericanMadeLesGold on Oct 28, 2019 Thank you mattel for taking your time and finding the "right spot" and "when we had the opportunity to get harley get back out again, we would do so". I am just curious when did flashback series 3 first hit retail and so we can extrapolate the entire timeframe of this. Sorry i am not letting mattel get a pass on this. I have said before they are old and slow, and also that seller in canada made a absolute killing reselling them on ebay. The people at mattel knew flashback series 3 was going to be hard to find because it got canned and only a certain amount where made. They also short packed harley race in the baf set because why not its mattel ? This was a terrible decision, absolutely terrible. By the time people who wanted this figure and not paid ebay prices on this it will probably be closer to 5 years. I want people to know this is how long it takes for things to happen at mattel just the yellow intercontinental belt from the ultimate warrior took to get made. Also to those to are going to reply with the "another complaint thread" comment, this is the truth and these are the facts. I honestly think the people who where "in the know" of this situation at mattel should feel ashamed. This is just my opinion, though others will feel different. The being left in the dark about this whole sad saga is what I really dislike the most from mattel. Matt Cardona received his set in advance by September 4, 2018: forum.wrestlingfigs.com/post/8544757/threadthomamon posted pics of the set he found at a Walmart in NJ on October 10, 2018: forum.wrestlingfigs.com/post/8562078/threadI just want to know one thing. Is this meant to be a factual account or an opinion piece? Because it’s giving mixed messages. Yes, there are aspects of the Harley Race saga that I wish could have been addressed in greater detail by those involved (mainly just the circumstances surrounding the latter distribution to Canada), but is it really worth saying people should feel ASHAMED? A new-and-slightly-improved version of this figure is due to be released in the new year and should be available in greater quantities this time around. Isn’t that what we should be concerned with? Whether everyone will have a chance at owning an Elite King Harley Race again? If anything, Mattel should be commended for their efforts to right a previous wrong. Self-inflicted or not, it’s a sign of growth and something we should all strive for in our adult lives.

The only thing Mattel is at fault for in the Harley debacle was short packing a figure in a BAF Line. It should be an even pack out across the set to be able for everyone to complete the build a figure. But they’ve done that a few times now. If they don’t think they’ll all sell as well then they shouldn’t put the figure they feel will have weak sales in a BAF set.

It’s a shame that someone’s Christmas was miserable enough that they spent it ranting about toy contracts they have no idea about. I hope next Christmas is a happier time for you, OP.
