my only question, is why not put him in the Coliseum Collection? They keep using up all the attires for that line, on normal elites. 1. To make money - they'll release him as an elite and they will also release him as an UE in the Coliseum Collection later. Then, I wouldn't be surprised if they released it again with a cloth robe. 2. His outfit is different - a cape for the elite vs. a jacket for the LJN. 3. People would complain that they didn't rerelease the elite that they missed and about paying UE prices for the figure (which they are going to do anyways).

I’ll take any and all Harleys as long they’re elite and ultimate. Rerelease or not.

Sorry i am a few days late, i honestly have not been paying attention. Literally the first questions to Steve's question thread. Credit to AmericanMadeLesGold on Oct 28, 2019 Thank you mattel for taking your time and finding the "right spot" and "when we had the opportunity to get harley get back out again, we would do so". I am just curious when did flashback series 3 first hit retail and so we can extrapolate the entire timeframe of this. Sorry i am not letting mattel get a pass on this. I have said before they are old and slow, and also that seller in canada made a absolute killing reselling them on ebay. The people at mattel knew flashback series 3 was going to be hard to find because it got canned and only a certain amount where made. They also short packed harley race in the baf set because why not its mattel ? This was a terrible decision, absolutely terrible. By the time people who wanted this figure and not paid ebay prices on this it will probably be closer to 5 years. I want people to know this is how long it takes for things to happen at mattel just the yellow intercontinental belt from the ultimate warrior took to get made. Also to those to are going to reply with the "another complaint thread" comment, this is the truth and these are the facts. I honestly think the people who where "in the know" of this situation at mattel should feel ashamed. This is just my opinion, though others will feel different. The being left in the dark about this whole sad saga is what I really dislike the most from mattel. Sir, this is a Wendy's...

I have the already released Race. I am not upset by this. Mine won't have changeable hands or double-jointed arms; it will always be different.

That's tuff. I just got done with the wife, and was feeling rather f'n hungry so I went to walmart at 2am or so to pick up some food. And low and behold what was waiting for me on the risers in the toy aisle? The hole BAF set! 2 of them. Had I known the value, I would've bought all. But I'm not an a hole, so I probably would've had 2nd thoughts, but I did buy the 1 set. It was actually the easiest BAF set I ever found, even till this day. Can't find nothing have to order online. It was a great night. Through and through, I scored twice. Well 3 if you count getting food. Merry Christmas all! So you got TWO things OP doesn’t…I have a feeling if he had one of those things he wouldn’t be making this thread…and it isn’t a Harley Race figure…

I always assumed that the guy in Canada happened to get a number of cases on the cheap from a Walmart warehouse. From what I understand, when the warehouses have excess stock that has not sold (meaning has not gone to the stores) they sell them at a heavy discount through whatever channels they have, or when they have stock past that, they donate it (for a tax write-off). That is just an educated guess based on what I have been told at the Salvation Army where I have volunteered every winter from the last 5 years.
So in this case, by the time series 3 was about to be released, Walmart decided to remove them from the plan-o-gram for whatever reason (same with the basic flashbacks) and so any stock left in the warehouse was untouched. So at that point they wouldn't go out to stores, so they were 'excess stock' for Walmart warehouses. All they know is that these are "wrestling figures" and need to get rid of them.
The only thing I fault in Mattel is the same thing they have done over the years - not made use of the characters while under contract. If they only have a wrestler under contract for a year or two, they should pump the out while they can. I think they have learned that more in recent years, so hopefully with Harley back in the fold, they can get a few more versions out (Manager Harley, NWA Harley, Coliseum Collection Harley).
I just hope that they can get an NWA Harley, with the mutton-chops out.

Chicago I want to be clear, I want this thread to be preserved as an example of how old and slow mattel's wwe team takes when people ask for years, can you make this or release this please ? Mattel should be ashamed about this whole debacle is my opinion, and does matter. Yes its just one toy and in the grand scheme of things does not matter all that much. My whole thing is, mattel is billions in debt (fact) and looks to be poorly ran top to bottom. That is my guess since they are billions in debt. This whole debacle of this looks like is a microcosm of mattel as a whole. So for those who think this is no big deal, okay. Do not be surprised when issues like this happen again and again. For me I think we should really take mattel to task on this and not just sweep it under the rug. I really would like to know how an ebay seller was able to get a whole bunch of these figures because it will show the truth whatever it may be. How that is even possible is this day and age just boggles my mind. I also wish no ill will toward this person, they are taking advantage of walmarts/mattel blunder. I really don't like how this all went down and only little crumbs of information would come out here and there. Its very doubtful that harleys legend contract ended when the passed away. So there had to be some time before that where they could have owned this screw up and tried the correct it as soon as possible. I still think the "lines are set 2 years in advance" is not true, but lets say I am wrong. Whoever is is charge of the wwe line can not just call ringside and make a deal while there was still time ? Lastly to kirk815 it was not the person calling me "entitled" It was someone else wishing harm on me. But yes I am the scrooge, entitled, etc for pointing this out.

This makes the most sense, as stated by kirk815. “ Like others have mentioned in the discussion, lines are planned 18 months to 2 years in advance, his deal expired, and he also passed away. We don't know any estate issues that might have went on behind the scenes. On top of that, I'm sure WWE and Mattel wait a certain amount of time to contact family/estates out of respect. I'm pretty sure I would not have a positive response to any company bothering me while I was grieving so they could make money off of a loved one that just passed away.”

Am I the only one who just said "F it, I don't need King Harley Race that bad" and have just been patiently waiting for the re-release? Is the original poster such a huge fan/collector of King Harley Race stuff? I never viewed this as one of those "must have" items but more like a "it'd be nice to have" figures....
Goodness, I certainly hope nothing screwy happens with THIS version! Might incite World War 3......
The fury over SDCC Sgt. Slaughter, now THAT I understand..... this figure? eh

It’s a shame that someone’s Christmas was miserable enough that they spent it ranting about toy contracts they have no idea about. I hope next Christmas is a happier time for you, OP. and I’m sure his Christmas wasn’t that bad, me and my family unfortunately had to deal with the aftermath of a 2 day blizzard that we were lucky to even be home and safe during, there’s friends from out of town I was hoping to see that couldn’t even make it up because of it, and yet the biggest complaint someone has is over a figure that’s coming out again sometime next year

We see ringside constantly getting walmart and target leftovers nowadays. So here is the thing though since there is not enough of an uproar, situations like this will happen again and again. Just like how on your thread year ago showing how piss poor walmart stores in your area where at getting wwe figures. Not enough people care to hold mattel and walmart accountable, its just a toy get over it. Meanwhile in a few years mattel might get bought out or go bankrupt, oh well thats a shame. (Hypothetically, not literally)

It's more easier and cheaper to find the CS King Harley Race that Jakks made and that will do me since I only collect superstars from 1997 to 2001 that Mattel release. But it's good that Mattel have re-released Harley Race for the collectors who needed him. 👍
