Strongbow was canceled because Mattel was afraid of offending liberals because Strongbow was a white man portraying a Native American in a scripted performance 40 years ago. Yokozuna and Razor Ramon get a free pass thou for doing the exact same thing. I know all that. But why should I be UPSET over that? Great question 👍👏

I am pumped for this because of the likelihood of a different Harley Race look. Crossed fingers for NWA Champion look Race and Suited Vader Manager Race!

What makes me chuckle is pre this figure initially being announced no one (well I’m sure there was one) was asking for a king Harley. Then when it comes out but is hard to get of hold people lose their crap. I’m convinced the vast majority is because there’s a pissing contest of “look what I have”, “my collections better than yours”, “I have this rare figure” and people just enjoying complaining etc rather than “man I LOVED the king Harley gimmick”. I mean who on here has a favourite king Harley match and if do have you seen more than 1? The gimmick is better known for the issue with wwf going to Memphis advertising “the king” and lawler suing (later dropped and settled). Not to disrespect Harley’s impact but let’s face it that was nwa etc Harley. Similarly people were not craving a chief strongbow until it was announced then cancelled then people got all twisted up and threw toys out of the pram about it. Someone on here mentioned their dad or grandad was a chief fan or the first match they watched was with that relative so they really wanted the figure (I think that’s right?) and for that person it sucks it didn’t come out. But the faux ‘outrage’ of it bring cancelled when there’s a couple at most of other figures who would go with it was verging on comical. People just like to bitch and moan. While this is true, it's easy to avoid in terms of talking to, looking at and following collectors in this community. Feel free to block the boisterous and braggadocious folks and pay attention to those with possibly more modest collections but better opinions and a clearer focus on wrestling. That's what I do! The less attention folks like that are given, the sooner their flame will fade. And I for one am hoping for a blue and red jacket Harley. I am a big HR fan. Some of those old matches against Dusty, Funk brothers, and Flair were REALLY good. There’s also a really good one against Johnny Valentine and a really underrated bloodbath against Dirty Dick Slater.

My favorite of all has to be the savage Ugandan who moaned to communicate and needed a handler. That figure was the best! I do agree, there is a double-standard going on for sure!

It would be one thing if someone from Mattel would comment on the Strongbow figure being canceled but they refuse. If the company strongly believes that the figure is horrible and racist then they should have no problem defending that position publicly. If they feel that Strongbow’s gimmick was racist then why don’t they feel the same way about the other wrestlers mentioned. It’s also very sad that all post regarding Strongbow are deleted on this board. Since when is discussing an action figure being canceled taboo on this board? We’re all adults here and should be able to have open dialogue about it without being silenced.

I don't have a dog in this "fight" because I don't want the figure. However, If the Strongbow figure is so controversial, maybe Mattel should remove it from their website? It's been up there since the figure was supposed to be released and no one seems to be upset about it. Maybe the one person that complained will see this and fire off a Tweet to Mattel to have it removed.
