They made the jacket out of soft goods just to be different from Jazwares and it was a horrible decision. Cody’s jackets weight like 50 pounds and are firm fitting
And then the actual figure itself is horrible. How is this a premium premium figure? It’s an exclusive figure from a premium line and this is how it turns out. The Logan Paul looks really good while this one is trash
And they’re still putting the tattoo over his face

After seeing in-hand pics, the only thing keeping me wanting this is what it stands for and represents: his WrestleMania return. Because if I look at the figure in a vacuum, it's really rough... - Mattel refuses to make a good looking weight belt - Ill-fitting screen printed baggy coat opposed to molded with replaceable arms (Ex: how they did Logan Paul)- Tattoo should not be split between the neck and the jaw - Torso looks strange And yes, I preordered two. I don't regret preordering. I just wish Mattel rethought some things about this. Packaging is still awesome. A lot of people prefer soft goods though, so it's one of those things where whatever they do, they're never going to please everyone. I think the coat looks good. 🤷♂️
This not a case of "you can never please everyone"....The coat is FLAT OUT AWFUL. If you like it, you have low standards. It's cheap looking and thin as hell. I'd be embarrassed to display him wearing it. Whereas the Supreme Cody, I was literally texting friends about the coat. It's night and day.
Again, Mattel needs to be better with their decisions surrounding Ultimates. I'm aware that budget plays a role, but they can still do better.

...totally disagree. Personally, I prefer this Mattel one. I always prefer soft-goods over plastic/swappable arms jackets and coats... I think it actually gives the figures a more premium look and feel. So there. |

I really don't think the coat looks too bad either. But I think a rubber jacket would've done well here. Something very similar to the new Target UE Legends Bret. It probably would've had good application here because of all of the detail on the jacket.

The ring jacket is bad imo and the torso has the Undertaker issue where the parts are lopsided. Either the abdomen is too small or the torso is too big. I'm positive Cody will be getting more moments in WWE. So I'll wait for those to be represented. Potentially when he wins the title. Hopefully by that point they decide to go the Bret route and use the molded entrance jacket for Cody. It's interesting that the yelling head was the best one on his Jazwares figure and it looks to be the worst on his Mattel. So yeah, not losing any sleep over not getting this one.

You can still put the jaszwares coat and arms on his ultimate. Arms won't be snug snug but it'll work for just posing.

I just watch AlexWestCollects in hand review and the only thing Jazwares is superior on are the belt and molded tights. I hate that Mattel’s Cody has trunks legs. And of course Mattel added the damn drop down hips which I truly hate. And with the neck tattoo while I wish they didn’t put part of it on his face the placement is more accurate than Jazwares. But Mattel’s clearly has the better scans, build and skin tone. Sure the torso is a bit thick for Cody now, but he was thicker when he came back at last years WM which the figure is based off. So I don’t mind that. And I am glad that it’s taller than his Elite 101, because I felt that figure was slightly undersized. As for the coats I think both Mattel’s and Jazwares are equally good in their own ways. I feel both have strengths and weaknesses to their designs. |

I really do understand anyone's gripe with this Cody fig.  The figure going out in the mail is far off from the photo we preordered. Objectively it looks so different side-by-side. The delivery of the torso on the final product even looks nothing like it does in the render. The colors have no comparison. If you look closely at the tights deco, detail was cut and different deco was stretched out to fill the space of on the crotch piece. I'm not going to be in the "I'm canceling my $45 figure now worth $200" boat but I much prefer the Elite 101 to this. And I'm someone who really loves the Ultimate line. |

Sorry that my satisfaction with this figure has personally affected the action figure connoisseurs among us so drastically.

Just saw a picture of the prototype jacket. Something was lost/miscommunicated along the production process I'm afraid. The fit of the jacket is night and day as well. Looked great on the first version and its baggy all over on the new photos of the figure. I mean, look at the long duster part by the legs. Its a 180 degree execution.  |

Got plenty of likes from other users. Each time I asked, I worded it differently, some replies I added a photo. I just asked for clarification on what the color would be. Never got a reply. But all the questions around mine did. Every time it was asked. |
