I had another rant typed out, but I’m not wasting my time. All I’ll say is this: Another person being able to have the same figure as you doesn’t mean you don’t have yours anymore. If you’re buying figures as an investment, you should be buying vintage. Nothing mass-produced after toy companies started aiming at collectors is ever going to make you rich. If you’re buying figures as an investment, you should be buying vintage. NO! If you’re buying figures as an investment, you should stop and invest in something else. Sorry, but investing in toys is just stupid.

I think it’s great. I just want some older figures back I had to sell off years ago. Sadly most won’t get rereleased

Release them if people need them. Think it’s pretty selfish to want people too go without because your ok.
Ive been collecting since the beginning and have nearly all Elites. I don’t mind any of them being re-released.

My only issue really with this "Greatest Hits" elite line is that it's not what it's being defined as. A Greatest Hits album is a compilation of a band or artist's best work, sometimes with a bonus track or two Not an entire selection of B-sides and rarities What it feels like they are doing, to me, is looking at figures that were exclusive to a retailer, or not widely distributed, and just re-releasing them so it does kill the value of the originals. But those were not necessarily the best figures they've ever released. In 2010 and 2011 Mattel did "Best of" Elite Series where they re-released figures from different Elite sets that year....then for some reason it just stopped. Plus with almost every figure that's been in the GH line, they could have put out the same character in a different attire or look and people still would have been happy. You're telling me Shawn Michaels doesn't have like 75 different attires that people would want in Elite form? but they spent resources and money just slightly upgrading the Wrestlemania elite? I've been collecting this line literally from Day 1. I have over 1,000 Elite figures. I kind of enjoy the fact that some of them actually have a higher value than most. It's just a nice bonus from all the time, effort, energy and MONEY I have put in to this hobby. I never bought anything with the thought of "oh someday this will be worth hundreds"....no mass-released figure in this era is going to be, really. Even all these GH figures, the originals aren't like this massive gold mine, and they are still selling for 3x the original cost. One thing I really don't want to see happen is for them to start re-doing legit Exclusives (Ringside, Comic Con, etc). Those should always have a premium on them. They were designed to be just that. They weren't "rare" at the time, those who bought em, should have that benefit of their value being high. I know they will though, its just a question of when. That's exactly how I feel on these re-released figures and this is something that Jeremy would never do when at Jakks. Slight attire updates would have been more ideal for these re-releases, for example the "Greatest Hits" Ministry Undertaker could have had his attire updated to feature the green, purple or black outlines around the T symbol, include the new tall laceless boot mold and update the pins on his gloves since he never wore MMA gloves in the late 90's.

I think it comes down to why you collect. I collect because I want a figure. If a million others have it (like my vintage Castle Grayskull) or several thousand have it (like my New Gen crowdfund Macho Man or Doink), it doesn't come up when I'm thinking about my collection.
That said, I have a buddy (great dude) who flips stuff, and his focus is many times on value, so he'd prefer they not reissue anything. I totally get where he's coming from.
And you also have the ones who like the rarity of what they have. That's fine, too, although I have to say that the people I know won't be any more impressed with my rare figures than my not-at-all-rare figures, so I'm jealous they know enough people in the know to be worthy of praise 😄
But overall, as I said, it doesn't come up for me. A re-released figure I want/need or don't want/need is the same as a FTITL one in the same category. Like Drago fighting for himself, I collect for me. FOR ME!
Slight differences are okay with me, too, though. Changing hair color, adding/removing a color or deco, changing gear, etc., won't change my want if I wanted the original and missed it.

I like them.
I am not a completist with my WWE figures. I am a completist with some other lines, but my wrestling Fandom wanes after a certain period. So I just buy what I like.
I also just started collecting within the past couple of years. I jumped on right as Hasbro started doing the pinless, double-jointed elbows and TrueFX. I feel like that's a good starting point for a collection since all of the figures share the same aesthetic. I do own some figures from 2015 and they almost look like they're from a different line. I like continuity, so I prefer re-releases to having to track down figures from 8 years ago.

People actually get really into their feelings over this. I've had people DM me threats because they are little bitch boys. I think it's great. I mean, the first Bulldog had arm issues with arm breakage, and I'm sure some people that had theirs break when prices were too high to replace will love that. You want to make money, play the stock market. These are mass produced pieces of plastic meant for kids. I have the original figures, but with the new double joints I'll probably be up for the upgrades. I'll end up selling the older ones. Win win. Well I love when other people tell other people how they think they should feel about something , ignorance… . What you feel isn’t what other feels, your way isn’t the right way there …there is no right way… I to have been collecting since day 1 and hate it ,I took pride in my rarer figs and it made them cooler being worth more… if you think I’m a scalper or money hungry whatever…there’s a lot of us that feel this way and to berated for it is unneeded hated ,being a d1ck just to be one . I’m never selling my whole main collection ever (over 400 elites) it’s just way cooler to me when I have some that are way harder to find/worth more.. “WAAAAAHHHHH MUH TOYS AREN’T WORTH THE MONEYS THEY USED TO BE!!! WAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHH!!!”

They're necessary. This line is in uncharted territory as far as the length of time they've had the license without changing the form-factor. Keeping in-demand characters and looks behind the wall of "this look was released a decade ago" is absurd, and detrimental to the line's continued existence. Now, does that mean they need to rerelease EVERYthing? No.

Well since WWE isn’t very motivated in pushing hard to get older legends signed this is what we get. The Zombie Sailer Bastion Booger coming out at SDCC is beautiful…..It’s a shame a no name toy company can get him made but not WWE or Mattel. He would make an awesome elite and retro.
