I do also. even with the kids. I call them sir and ma'am. You know what I meant homeboy.. ...yes, I do. and im dead serious with what I said. I call everyone sir or ma'am. thats how I was brought up. ...but I also understand that its not the end of the world, nor a big deal in general if someone wasnt raised that way. homeboy.

--For the dude asking if I've been to the "Inner Harbor," no, I haven't. But I have traveled up and down the east coast, and even in New Goddamn Jersey I showed respect to older people, and the in cops. It's not that hard of a concept to understand... and I'll just say for the record, 80% of the people in New Jersey, and Pennsylvania are ALL dicks. DON'T YOU CALL ME DUDE! see how stupid that response was? Oh and if you didn't enjoy the friendly confines of PA and NJ, don't let the door hit you in the ass on the way out. We don't want you here anyway. You haven't 'earned my respect' enough for me to not call you a dude. Friendly? FRIENDLY? My ass, I've been in your traffic, parks, arena's, and shit... that's about as damn friendly as a horde of pissed off bees.

No offense Adam Bomb but society isn't mature enough to handle people dressing up punk style. Honestly, only the gay areas here in NYC accept it.
Not that I think its wrong or anything as I don't discriminate against how people dress.

Not that I think its wrong or anything as I don't discriminate against how people dress. No offense taken, it's more the reason I am as polite to people as I am. I knew when I got into the punk stuff, and started dying my hair funky colors, and wearing **** people don't usually wear I'd be subject to a negative stereotype. Rather than perpetuate that, I'd rather go out of my way to show others that I am a good, decent person. Typically, people in general seem to think I should be an outright ass, instead of polite. Cops, especially are surprised by it - and yes, I do go out of my way to hold doors open for people, make small talk, and flash a smile. Being a jerk gets you nowhere. ...if only some other people felt that way.

You haven't 'earned my respect' enough for me to not call you a dude. Friendly? FRIENDLY? My ass, I've been in your traffic, parks, arena's, and ****... that's about as damn friendly as a horde of pissed off bees. You need to learn sarcasm. My response with the "DONT CALL ME DUDE" was trying to demonstrate to you how friggin ridiculous it is to get all bent out of shape by being called dude. As was evidenced by my next line in my post "See how stupid that response was?" I could care less if you call me "Dude" want to know why? because I have some level of maturity and self restraint that this cop obviously doesn't. And yes Philadelphia/PA and NJ is very friendly. You just put yourself in the areas that everyone in this country knows aren't the best parts. Philly traffic? on par with NYC and Boston, you think those people are happy? Arenas? if your cheering for the other team of course you're gonna catch flack for it. As you would in any other stadium in the country. Parks? What parks? JFK and Farimount are very nice parks. I don't know which ones you went to where you were given flack, unless it was the JFK skate park.

This was pretty funny. I've had some equally shitty encounters with cops...One of them sat me down and pulled out a bible and started quoting psalms. No joke, a few cops over heard me say "hail satan" in jest when we passed some of these goth kids. They pulled me over, pulled me out of my truck and put me in the back of a car while they searched my truck. I've also been threatened by a black cop because I'm white with tattoos which I guess means I'm automatically racist. That was a shitty day haha. But I've gotta say, I hope this doesn't start one of those " the police" threads, there are a few bad ones out there, but there are a lot of them that are really nice and put there life on the line every day. For every bad cop out there, there are probably 10 good ones. Pretty good odds if you ask me.

Calling someone dude is not against the law. It's protected by the constitution to use freedom of speech. The boy might have disobeyed the law by skating in a no-skating zone but the cop should not have used physical force when none was actually needed. This guy is just someone who likes to abuse his power.

And even then, most of them could give a crapless about the rights until something like this comes up and they wanna use their "rights"

While its true that kids don't have the full gamut of rights until they hit the age of 18, I do believe the Supreme Court of the United States has ruled that the fundamental right to free speech is granted to all citizens regardless of age. I believe this came up in a case involving schools banning certain shirts that had political messages on them.
I could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure that the 1st amendment is applicable to all.

I dont think what the cop did was wrong! Kids now-a-days have no respect for anyone, and someone needs to teach them a lesson. If their parents don't who better than a COP!
COPS RULE!! SMART ASS KIDS; SUCK!!!!
