Obviously he talked back to the cop, you have to listen the the video.. when the cop says "I'm not your father" or whatever, the kid says something to the effect of " I don't have a dad" Not to mention, he was skateboarding in a place that he shouldn't have been. |

Gotta love how everyone here hates cops. Jesus, no one realizes how much you need them. Also, Slay 'Em, you should respect cops. They are of a higher authority than you and put their lives on the line every ing day to protect you and everyone else. Video was funny. Cop way overreacted, though. |

But on the other hand i cant really judge him because the camera only caught some of the altercation. the kid could have said something disrespectful or something like that. and if you watch the vid. the cop tells the kid to sit down, but the kid tries to get up. although i think the cop should have just let them go i think the kid should have obeyed the officer and none of that would have happened. but the cop was clearly too forceful. so im on the fence about this one. lol long reply |

The moment I seen the kid, a skater, I had my own preconceived opinions... none of which favor skaters.
However, the cop response reminds me of some thing that can only be an act... so it's hard to really take this video seriously. Sucks for all involved.

He didnt ask the kid to sit down until he had him in a choke hold already and was throwing him to the ground...and the kid to me, appeared to be trying to sit up, not get up.
Either way the cop was a D**k and was reassigned to desk duty when he should have been fired. Oh well at least he's getting sued.
In addition, theres no justifiable reason for the cop to over react like that. So the kid called him dude. a 14 year old calls everyone dude. and its in a teenagers nature to be a douchebag, it should be expected.
And respect is a two way street, if the cop wanted respect he should have kept speaking in a calm but firm manner. Not blow up. I guarantee that these kids will never again respect cops.
Oh theres an article on FARK.com somewhere from monday or tuesday about this
