Yeah, I ain't exactly pleased with the layout anymore, but it is shorter and easier to read. I hope Hollywood Mercury is Joey Matthews. Push Jamie Noble, don't job him out to giants. Awesome that Sydal and Kazarian beat Miz and Morrison to win the Tag titles. MVP beating Palumbo is nothing new, important or special. Interesting feud with Mysterio and Batista. Push Funaki please. Jericho beating Umaga sounded great, interesting three way feud with Y2J, Edge and Taker.

I actually quite like the new layout . Think it's a fresh change for a fantastic diary. RAW was great. Cena as special ref is a nice twist. Really happy that HBK and Flair won. Kingston vs. Morley would be good and im glad Morley won. Mike Kruel segment was great as is Dreamer's heel turn. Main event was brilliant aswell. SD! was great too. Jericho/Umaga is good and Sydal and Kaz team is godly. Keep up the good work. Please reply to Disappear Here's ECW 2008-09.

Wrestling Observer Newsletter WWE News: Carlito, Hollywood Mercury, Roster Cuts, The Draft
WWE’s backstage workers were really impressed by the performance of Carlito this past week on RAW. It looks like the RAW writing team are pretty high on Carlito right now, and he is a one of the front runners when it comes to the Money in the Bank match.
A video package aired during SmackDown of ‘The Superstar’ Hollywood Mercury. This is indeed Joey Matthews - or Joey Mercury as he was previously known during his last run with the WWE.
Current rumors from within WWE headquarters is that roster cuts will be happening in the coming weeks to make room for some new talent. WWE has a history of brining in new talent after WrestleMania, and it looks like some dead weight will be leaving before hand.
There are plans to hold the WWE draft in the coming months. It looks like it will be held just before the Night of Champions pay per view, where all the titles will be on the line.

To be honest, really not a fan of the layout at all, I just cannot get into the shows. Just don't do Wrestlemania like that at least. Don't really like the tag titles switching hands so abruptly. Good solid wins by Kane and Mysterio, and Edge/Jericho was extended well for build up through Umaga/Jericho.

24th March 2008The RAW opening video aired, followed by Jim Ross and Jerry Lawler introducing Monday Night RAW, love on the USA network, hyping the fact that this is the final RAW before WrestleMania 24. Randy Orton kicked off the show, making his way to the ring and demanding a microphone. Orton talked about how last week Triple H cost him the tag team main event and that without Triple H he could have beaten both Shawn Michaels and Ric Flair single handedly. Triple H interrupted Orton’s rant, telling him to put his money where his big mouth is and face him tonight. Orton accepted, and promised that tonight he will take out the WWE Champion, and at WrestleMania, he will end Shawn Michaels. Carlito Def. Brian KendrickAn Impressive match that was used to build Carlito up for WreslteMania 24. Carlito has really stepped up the past few weeks, and is actually putting in 100% into his performance. Kendrick got in some spectacular high risk offence, only to be put away by the Backstabber for the finish. RAW cut to Ric Flair backstage. Flair cut a promo on his massive WWE Championship match at WrestleMania 24, and that no matter what happens it will be his last match, and that he plans on ending his career as the WWE Champion. Flair said that he is undefeted in 2008, and that WrestleMania, he makes it thirteen in a row. Umaga Def. Cody RhodesUmaga was a beast here, completely destroying Rhodes from the start to the finish of this match. Rhodes attempted to get some early offence, only to be hit with a Samoan Drop. Rhodes couldn’t get any momentum from there, and Umaga soon put him away the Samoan Spike. As Umaga prepares to continue the beating on Cody Rhodes the lights went out, and a bolt of lightning hit the stage, where suddenly the Undertaker was standing, pointing at Umaga. Please welcome Yokozuna, and the rest of the class of 2008 to the WWE Hall of Fame Charlie Haas & Giant Bernard Def. Jeff Hardy & DH SmithA superb tag team match that really built towards the Money in the Bank match. Haas and Bernard seem to be in the same mold as the old Shawn Michaels/ Kevin Nash partnership, and the live crowds are really buying into him as a strong heel. Hardy and Smith really work well as a team, and kept the match largely back and forth, only for Bernard to power through both men, and Haas to pin a downed Jeff Hardy after Bernard hit him with the Bernard Bomb. RAW cut to John Cena backstage, talking to a staff member when WWE Champion Triple H walked up to him. Triple H warned him that he better keep away from WrestleMania, because he doesn’t deserve to be involved in this caliber of match. Cena warned Triple H that if Triple H manages to keep hold of the WWE title, then he will be the first in line. Lance Cade Def. Shawn MichaelsIt looks like Cade is certainly getting a massive push with a win like this. Everyone thought that Michaels would have to carry Cade if the match was to be great, but Cade really shone here, and a feud between these two could be coming up soon. Michaels and Cade both got some strong offence in, and there was a series of near falls for both men. Michaels managed to connect with the Sweet Chin Music, but the referee was out cold after a stray fist. Mr. Kennedy made the surprising interference, blasting Michaels with a steel chair and rolling Cade over him, giving Cade the victory. Post match Mr. Kennedy grabbed a microphone, and told everyone that Michaels almost took his eye out with that Sweet Chin Music, and that because of it everyone will miss out on watching Mr. Kennedy at WrestleMania, but now they wont, because Mr. Kennedy will be in the corner of Randy Orton at WrestleMania 24. Triple H Def. Randy OrtonAn incredible main event between two of RAW’s biggest stars. Both men went all out, seriously attempting to hurt each other ahead of their separate matches at WrestleMania 24. Triple H seemed to be playing the face in the early parts of the match, before his heel tactics came into play, with Triple H connecting a low blow, and nearly hitting the Pedigree. Orton fought back, and went for the RKO, only for Triple H to push him out of the ring. Orton grabbed a steel chair and entered the ring. Triple H dodged one swing of the chair, only for Orton to connect second time around, causing the disqualification. Post match Orton set Triple H for the one man con-chair-to, only for Shawn Michaels and Triple H’s own WrestleMania 24 opponent Ric Flair to make the save, running Orton off. Flair told Triple H that he was the only one who would take him out, as RAW went off the air.

RAW was awesome and I'm glad you went to the older layout. I have a feeling now that Kennedy will cost Michaels the match, and feud with HBK after Wrestlemania, but I really hope you give HBK the belt, since he is my favorite, and to keep some of that unpredictability there. Umaga squash is awesome, as is the aftermath, Umaga/Taker is going to be insane. Carlito winning was the right move, but good to see Kendrick look strong. Haas and Bernard is interesting, good match up with them.
Cannot wait for Wrestlemania, out of all the diaries I've read on here, this is one of my most anticipated shows ever, meaning I'm so disheartened everytime you stop with this diary for a while. Good work and keep it up man.

25th March 2008The ECW opening video aired, followed by Joey Styles & Tazz hyping tonight’s show, and the fact that WrestleMania 24 is only 6 days away. ECW General Manager Armando Estrada made his way to the ring to kick off this edition of ECW on Sci-Fi. Estrada hyped that WrestleMania 24 is just around the corner, and that tonight’s ECW is going to be massive. Estrada then announced that tonight’s main event will see Tommy Dreamer go one on one with Sabu… in an Extreme Rules match, and that since CM Punk and Shelton Benjamin want to be in the same ring together they can, as they will have to team together against the former WWE Tag Team Champions John Morrison & The Miz! Mordecai Def. Kofi KingstonKingston’s undefeated streak came to an abrupt end here, as Mordecai plowed right through him. The rest of the Devil’s rejects were at ringside during this match, sitting down on metal chairs with black hoods on, which certainly distracted Kingston, allowing Mordecai to connect with the Crucifix Powerbomb for the win. A video package aired featuring a man standing in front of American flag. A voice over talked about how “Mike Kruel is anti-immigration and Pro-America”, before announcing that ‘Mr. USA’ Mike Kruel is coming to ECW, ending with “This video package was paid for by the supporters of Mike Kruel. CM Punk & Shelton Benjamin Def. John Morrison & The MizThere was obvious tension between Punk and Benjamin during this match, and it really helped to build towards their big match at WrestleMania 24 this Sunday. Morrison showed an angry streak here, still angry after losing the WWE Tag Team titles on SmackDown. Punk and Benjamin controlled this match for the most part, both attempting to one up each other by pulling off increasingly spectacular moves, and the match ended with a double pinfall when Punk pinned Morrison after the GTS and Benjamin pinned Miz with the Knee up Bulldog. Post match CM Punk grabbed the ECW Championship and a microphone from ringside and got back into the ring, staring at Benjamin. Punk hyped how he had held the ECW championship since September, and doesn’t intend on losing it during the biggest match of his career. Benjamin left the ring and signaled that the title is coming home with him Sunday night. A hype video aired highlighting the recent problems between Tommy Dreamer and Sabu. Extreme Rules Match Tommy Dreamer Def. SabuThis match was brutal and there were definite feeling that this was more the ECW of old than WWE’s version during this match. Weapons came into play early on, with Dreamer wailing at Sabu with a kendo stick, only for Sabu to throw a chair clean into the face of Dreamer. Dreamer was split open after an Arabian facebuster, but refused to stay down, and continued fighting, despite being further split open after another chair shot. Dreamer brought a barbed wire 2x4 into play, and nearly took Sabu’s head off with it, before setting up a table and pulling Sabu up to the top turnbuckle with him. In an incredible spot Dreamer hit a top rope Spicoli Driver to Sabu straight through the table, allowing Dreamer to drape one arm across a lifeless Sabu for the win. As ECW came to an end a number of medics rushed to the ring to check on Dreamer and Sabu, while an un close camera shot showed Dreamer grinning while his face was completely covered in blood.

ECW was good. Wish Mordecai hadn't defeated Kingston but I can see that you are building him up. Mike Kruel coming up should be good. The gimmick sounds awesome. The Punk vs. Benjamin match will be freaking awesome and glad to see they picked up the win. Sabu/Dreamer sounded brutal and the ending with Dreamer grinning was cool. Looking forward to Mania

28th March 2008The SmackDown opening video aired, followed by Michael Cole & Jonathan Coachman hyping tonight’s show, and plugging WrestleMania 24, which is only 3 days away. Chris Jericho kicked off this edition of SmackDown, making his way to the ring to a massive reaction from the fans in attendance. Jericho cut a promo on his big match at WrestleMania 24, promising to end Edge’s World Heavyweight championship reign. Edge interrupted, telling Jericho that he wanted him tonight in a tag team match, with Umaga as his partner. Jericho accepted, telling Edge that tonight it will be Edge & Umaga taking on Chris Jericho and… The Undertaker! Batista Def. Shannon MooreA complete squash match. Batista dominated, hitting some brutal power moves to ensure Moore couldn’t get a move in. Batista quickly finished Moore off with the Spinebuster, followed by the Batista bomb for a quick win. Post match Batista grabbed a microphone and cut a promo on Rey Mysterio and how he had turned his back on the fans that made him, and that this Sunday he will show exactly why that is such a bad idea. As he speaks Rey Mysterio, complete with a new red and black costume, came through the crowd and hit Batista with a springboard dropkick from the ropes. Mysterio followed up by attempting the 619, only for Batista to move. Mysterio legged it up the ramp and the two shared a staredown. WWE Tag Team Championship Kazarian & Matt Sydal Def. Deuce N’ DominoThe first test for the new WWE tag team champions, and they passed with flying colors. A great match that saw a match up of strength and speed. The crowd were completely behind the new tag team champions, and it looks like they have quickly become fan favorites. Deuce N’ Domino attempted to keep Kazarian & Sydal grounded, but it was no use, and Kazarian & Sydal connected with a Double Dropkick on Deuce for the win, both continuing their undefeated streak. A video package aired, showing a man sitting in a Hollywood director’s chair. He tells people that “there can only be one Hollywood Mercury, and he, is coming to SmackDown”. Kane Def. Mike MondoThis was not the squash match that many people were expecting as the young Mondo got in his fair share of offence. Kane took control early on with pure power, only for Mondo to fight back, surprising most of the crowd and getting in some solid offence, and even hitting the Mondo Lariat for a near fall. Kane came back impressively and hit the Chokeslam for the win. Post match the music of the Big Show hit, as Kane’s WrestleMania 24 opponent made his way to the ring. A number of security guards attempted to stop him, only to be overpowered. Show made it to the ring, and a brawl erupted between him and Kane, only being separated by near enough every staff member in the arena. Please welcome Yokozuna, and the rest of the class of 2008 to the WWE Hall of Fame SmackDown cut to Edge backstage with SmackDown interviewer Max Bretos. Edge cut a promo on the main event tonight, hyping that Umaga is a monster who can’t be stopped. Umaga walked into the shot, and roared at the camera, before the pair walked off. Montel Vontavious Porter Def. FinlayBoth a Money in the Bank preview and a match between two men who hate each other. Finlay was still hurt after MVP’s attack two weeks ago. MVP tried to keep away from Finlay for the opening seconds of the match, but a distraction by Hornswoggle allowed Finlay to tackle MVP to the ground and unload with some stiff punches. MVP managed to roll out of the ring, only for Finlay to hit him with a baseball slide to continue the assault. The match continued like this for the most part, although MVP did get some offence in towards the end, only getting the win thanks to a low blow and a roll up with a hand full of tights for the win. Post match MVP attempted to continue the assault, grabbing a steel chair from ringside, only for Matt Hardy to make the save, grabbing the chair from MVP and using it on MVP, nailing him clean in the skull. Matt signaled that he wants the Money in the Bank this Sunday. A hype video for WrestleMania 24 aired, focusing on all the SmackDown matches. Chris Jericho & The Undertaker Def. Edge & UmagaA great main event, that was used to build towards WrestleMania 24. All four men got in some excellent offence, and the match went back and forth between the two teams. Edge attempted to get Umaga to do all the work, only for Umaga to tag Edge in against his will, and Jericho to pull the ropes to flip him into the ring. The two engaged in an excellent back and forth fight, and if their WrestleMania match is anything like tonight, it’s going to be one hell of a match. The ending stretch saw all four men fighting in the ring. Edge grabbed a steel chair from ringside and went to hit Chris Jericho with it, only for Jericho to hit the Codebreaker out of nowhere, allowing Jericho to pin Edge for the win. As SmackDown came to an end Undertaker and Umaga stared each other down, with Umaga on the ramp, while Jericho draped the World Heavyweight championship over Edge, telling him that he will see him this Sunday.

Wrestling Observer Newsletter WWE News: Shawn Michaels/ Mr. Kennedy Feud, Tommy Dreamer & Sabu both okay, Mike Kruel, More
- It looks like the Shawn Michaels/ Mr. Kennedy feud will resume after WrestleMania 24. Kennedy picked up an eye injury at a house show that meant he can not perform until after WrestleMania 24, where he was meant to face Michaels originally.
- It looks like WrestleMania 24 will not feature as many backstage skits as previous years, and will focus more on the ‘big time’ feel of the matches.
- Following this week’s ECW on Sci-Fi both Tommy Dreamer and Sabu required stitches for cuts they received during the Extreme Rules main event. Both are fine despite the spot at the end of the match, and are expected to be available to work next weeks ECW.
- In house show news, Mike Kruel has been working house shows recently as a member of the ECW brand, getting wins over both Balls Mahoney and Stevie Richards. Kruel has been working as a heel during his house show appearances, and appears to be using a ‘Mr. USA’ gimmick.
- WWE have singed both Chris Harris and James Storm to developmental contracts, although it appears both may be debuting after WrestleMania 24 as a team. The two have worked as America’s Most Wanted in the past, and the WWE look to bring them up as a sort of modern day APA kind of team. It looks like the WWE are continuing to strengthen their tag team division.

SD! was a good show, and I for one am glad that you changed your layout back. I really want you to post the card for Wrestlemania as I have no idea what the matches are except MITB, Batista/Rey, Undertaker/Umaga, Big Show/Kane and Edge/Jericho. Hollywood Mercury. I love that name, haha.

30th March 2008A lengthy video package aired, first featuring clips of previous WrestleMania’s, then going into a video highlighting the road to WrestleMania 24, played to Rev Theory’s ‘Light It Up’. The three announce teams of Jim Ross & Jerry Lawler, Michael Cole & Jonathan Coachman and Joey Styles & Tazz then plugged their brands matches. John Legend then sang ‘America the Beautiful’ live. Big Show Def. KaneA solid giant V. giant match kicked off this years WrestleMania, and it was a good match to kick off the biggest show of the year. Both men focused on striking early on, with Show taking an early advantage thanks to his big punches keeping Kane unable to fight back. Show moved on to power moves, refusing to give Kane a chance to recover. Kane wouldn’t back down though, dodging a big boot and connecting with a clothesline to get back into the match. The match was back and forth from there, with both men hitting big powerful moves to keep the other grounded. Kane managed to hit the chokeslam, but only for a near fall, and Show connected with the Cobra Clutch Backbreaker for another near fall. The end of the match saw both men grabbing the other by the throat, only for Show to kick Kane in the stomach, and connecting with the Showstopper for the big win. A video package aired featuring the past Money in the Bank holders, and how each one has won the title when they cashed in, and that tonight, one more will join that list. Money in the Bank Match Montel Vontavious Porter Def. Jeff Hardy, Matt Hardy, John Morrison, Charlie Haas, Finlay, Elijah Burke & CarlitoThis match was incredible, and definitely lived up to previous Money in the Bank matches. The opening saw all eight men going at it, with Finlay and MVP fighting to the outside of the ring, where MVP threw Finlay over the barricade, and blasted him with a ladder to keep him down, only to turn around and get nailed by a suicide Dive from Matt Hardy, which left both men down. The ladders were brought into play early on, with Jeff Hardy dropkicking one into Morrison’s face, before using it to take Carlito out of the match. Jeff Hardy and Burke began brawling, allowing Haas the chance to go for the briefcase. Jeff and Burke didn’t give him the chance, with Jeff hitting him with a DDT from mid way up the ladder, before Burke laid Hardy out with a big right hand. Finlay stopped Burke getting the briefcase, and the match continued in this fashion throughout. Jeff Hardy hit the first big spot, hitting a Swanton Bomb from one ladder to the outside onto John Morrison, who was laid on top of another ladder, basically taking both men out for the remainder of the match. Matt took out Burke with a Twist of Fate from the top of the ladder, only to be pushed from the top of the ladder by Finlay moments later. Later in the match Finlay shocked everyone by hitting a crossbody splash from mid way up the ladder onto Haas and Carlito, but this allowed MVP to scale the ladder, and bring down the briefcase before anybody could stop him. Post match Max Bretos got a quick interview with the 2008 Mr. Money in the Bank Montel Vontavious Porter. MVP announced that he has a victory party to go too, and that 2008 is the year MVP wins the big one. A video package aired chronicling the feud between Batista and Rey Mysterio, that began when Mysterio cost Batista the World Heavyweight Championship back at the Royal Rumble. Batista Def. Rey MysterioThis was an excellent match up of power V. speed, and one of the rare times that the heel was the underdog in this kind of match up. That didn’t stop Mysterio, once again in a red and black outfit, getting into the match quickly, as he used a hit and run style tactic to keep Batista off guard, and to work away at the knees of the big man. Batista managed to catch hold of Mysterio, and planted Mysterio with a massive clothesline. Batista dominated the larger part of the match from there, using his strength to overpower Mysterio, who managed to get a few shots in. Mysterio countered a Batista bomb with a hurricarana, sending him into the ropes. Mysterio managed to connect with the 619, and went for the West Coast Pop, only to be caught mid air. Batista planted Mysterio with the Spinebuster, and followed up with the Batista Bomb for the three count. WrestleMania then cut to Randy Orton and Mr. Kennedy backstage. Kennedy was hyping Orton, getting him ready for his upcoming match with Shawn Michaels. Orton told Kennedy than tonight he will kill another legend. Kennedy told him that “It’s going to be a hell of a lot worse than that”. Randy Orton Def. Shawn MichaelsAn incredible match that really proved Michaels can hold his own with the much more youthful Randy Orton. Kennedy was at ringside throughout this match, and Michaels began the match arguing with him, allowing Orton to jump him from behind. Orton was like a vicious animal here, really trying to hurt Michaels, with punches and knees to the skull. Michaels was disorientated after this, but managed to catch Orton off guard with a kick from the turnbuckles, giving Michaels time to get his bearings. The match went back and forth here, both men giving it everything they have. Michaels had Orton set up for the Sweet Chin Music, only for Orton to move at the last minute and connect with the RKO, but only got a near fall. Orton then moved to the turnbuckle and charged at Michaels, almost taking his skull off with the punt to the head. Orton then went for another RKO, only for Michaels to push him into the turnbuckle and connect with a superkick out of nowhere, and both men collapsed to the mat. Both men got to their feet around the same time, but Kennedy started shouting at Michaels, distracting him. Michaels turned back to Orton, and was planted by the RKO. Orton made the cover, and got the three count. Post match Mr. Kennedy grabbed a steel chair from ringside and entered the ring, and nailed Michaels with the chair straight into his skull, not once but twice. Kennedy laughed at Michaels, and walked backstage with Randy Orton. WrestleMania then cut to Chris Jericho and SmackDown general manager Shane McMahon backstage with the band Rev Theory, all enjoying a drink. Edge stormed into the office and saw Jericho. Everyone went quiet as Jericho and Edge went eye to eye. Edge told Jericho not to celebrate early. Jericho offered Edge a drink, which Edge batted out of his hand before leaving. ECW Heavyweight Championship Match Shelton Benjamin Def. CM PunkThis was a superb match, and Benjamin and Punk definitely proved that they deserved to be this far up the WrestleMania card. This was an extremely close match, with both men pulling out all the stops very early on. Punk focused on the ribs of Benjamin with brutal kicks, while Benjamin used his athleticism to keep Punk guessing. Benjamin started gaining momentum thanks to his rapidly changing style, one minute using technical grapples and the next stiff strikes, and came close to winning after the T-Bone suplex. Punk refused to go down though, and hit a barrage of strikes to Benjamin, and was on fire for the rest of the match, really testing Benjamin, who weathered the storm and fought back in incredible fashion, hitting a lengthy chain of moves that really displays how talented he really is. In the end, Punk connected with a big kick to the side of Benjamin’s head and set him up for the GTS. Benjamin escaped though, and connected with the Knee up Bulldog out of nowhere. Benjamin made the pin, and got the three count for the win! Post match Shelton Benjamin was handed his ECW Championship, and raised it high for all to see. Punk looked on, shocked, while Benjamin celebrated finally winning the ECW title. The 2008 hall of fame ceremony was recapped, and a video packed aired featuring the 2008 inductees: Ric Flair, Owen Hart, Bruiser Brody, Ted Dibiase, Bruno Sammartino, Davey Boy Smith and Yokozuna. WrestleMania cut to Triple H, alongside WrestleMania mainstay Howard Finkel. Triple H talked about how tonight’s WrestleMania is the hardest one of his career, because tonight, he has to end the career of his mentor and friend, Ric Flair. A video package aired recapping the feud between the Undertaker and Umaga, which began at the Royal Rumble, and goes on to show Undertaker’s undefeated streak at WrestleMania. No Disqualification The Undertaker Def. UmagaThis was not a wrestling match, this was just a fight. Both men went at it with stiff strikes to begin with, and Umaga really looked like he was overpowering Taker in the first part of this match. It wasn’t long before the action spilled outside the ring, with Undertaker unleashing a barrage of punches to Umaga, who was propped up on the barricade. Taker went for a big boot, but Umaga moved, causing Undertaker to go straight into the barricade. Weapons soon came into play, with Undertaker unleashing shot after shot with a steel chair, before using the ring steps to get a near fall. Umaga lived up to his bulldozer nickname, almost crushing Undertaker into the ringpost. The action once again left the ring, and soon saw Umaga connecting with the Samoan drop onto the ramp way. Undertaker shocked everyone by fighting back, sending Umaga into the barrier, and choke slamming him on the padded floor. A brutal chair shot split Undertaker open, and at one point it looked like the deadman may pass out from a loss of blood. Undertaker refused to give up, blasting Umaga with another chokeslam, and bringing a table into play. In the big spot of the match Undertaker somehow lifted Umaga above his head, and hit him with the Last Ride through the table. Undertaker wasn’t finished though, and connected with the Tombstone, finally putting Umaga away for the three count, taking his record to 16-0. After the match Undertaker collapsed in the ring. Medics attempted to check on both men when the lights went out. A number of men made their way to the ring, one leading the rest, who were dressed as hooded druids. The druids dragged Undertaker out of the ring and lifted him above them, carrying him out. The apparent leader lifted an urn and revealed himself as Paul Bearer! Bearer led the druids and Undertaker out of the arena, as the arena watched on silently. Rev Theory the performed the WrestleMania 24 theme ‘Light it Up’ live on the stage. A lengthy video package looked at the career of Ric Flair, up to his Elimination Chamber victory, and his announcement that tonight’s WWE Heavyweight Championship match will be his last WWE match. It then moved on to recent events between Ric Flair and Triple H, before both Triple H and Ric Flair made special entrances, with Flair wearing a classic blue robe, and Triple H sitting on a throne with full King like outfit. WWE Heavyweight Championship – Ric Flair’s Final Match Triple H Def. Ric Flair Special Referee: John CenaThis was an excellent match, and the perfect send off for Ric Flair. Triple H and Cena shared a tense few moments at the start of the match, but Cena didn’t really play much part in the outcome at all. Flair came out fighting right from the start, blasting Triple H with chop after chop as soon as the bell rang, backing the WWE Champion into a corner. Triple H fought back with some big right hands, and quickly took control, working away at Flair’s back, copping the punishment off with a big spinebuster. Triple H set Flair up for the Pedigree in an attempt to finish him off early, but Flair resorted to his natural self, connecting with a low blow, which Cena did nothing about, and hit Triple H with a big DDT. The rest of the match was not fast paced, and saw both men working away at each other and attempting numerous submission moves. Triple H locked in Flair’s own Figure Four leglock at one point, and after over a minute locked into the move Flair rolled over, putting the pressure on Triple H, forcing him to release the hold. At this point Flair was exhausted, but refused to give up, but he had nothing left when Triple H connected with a running knee block. Triple H actually hesitated when he went for the pedigree, but Flair shouted “What are you waiting for, I’m done”. Triple H set Flair up and connected with the Pedigree, and reluctantly went for the pinfall. Cena obviously didn’t want to make the count, but did so, giving Triple H the win. Post match John Cena gave Triple H the WWE Heavyweight Championship, telling him that he is coming for the title next, before helping Ric Flair to his feet. Triple H and Flair shook hands, and Flair told Triple H “You’re the man now” before walking backstage to a standing applause. Two separate interviews were show, with both the World Heavyweight Champion Edge and his opponent Chris Jericho talking about what being in the main event of WrestleMania means to them. Both men promised that they will walk out of WrestleMania 24 the World Heavyweight champion, before it cut to a video package chronicling the feud between the two, that began when Chris Jericho won the Royal Rumble match. World Heavyweight Championship Match Chris Jericho Def. EdgeThis match was simply incredible, and easily fitting of a WreslteMania main event. The crowd was red hot during this match, and was on the edge of their seats whenever either man looked close to winning. The opening moments of the match saw both men exchanging punches and chops, before the match descended into half a minute of reversals, with both men reversing everything their opponent could throw at them. Jericho took the upper hand with a series of quick successive strikes, working away at Edge’s back to set up for the Walls of Jericho. Edge refused to give an inch, stopping Jericho’s momentum dead with a big dropkick, and focusing all his offence on Jericho’s shoulder. Jericho dodged a spear attempt, and hit a spear of his own, hurting his shoulder in the process. The match quickly became about who could do more damage, since neither men could connect with their finisher. Edge attempted to use Jericho’s own Walls of Jericho, but Jericho rolled through sending Edge into the turnbuckle, and Jericho finally managed to hit the Codebreaker, but could only manage a near fall. Jericho was in control from there, until Edge counted another Codebreaker attempt by throwing Jericho to the ring apron. Edge got ready for the Spear, and charged at Jericho, who moved, and Jericho locked a stunned Edge in the Walls of Jericho. Edge attempted to reach the ring ropes, but Jericho dragged Edge into the middle of the ring. Edge gave everything he had to hold on, but it was to no avail, and Edge had no choice but to tap out. Post match, Chris Jericho is handed the World Heavyweight Championship as confetti falls from above the ring. Jericho goes to each turnbuckle and ascends them, raising his new World Heavyweight title as fireworks fire throughout the arena. A video package plays recapping the entire event, with the final shot being Chris Jericho, raising the World Heavyweight Championship.

I must say, that was an amazing WrestleMania!
Big Show versus Kane was a great way to kick off the show. I would have liked a Kane win but never mind.
MVP = Mr. MITB = greatness! Can't wait to see when you have him cash it in and for what title.
Batista versus Mysterio was cool. But I feel it as somewhat of a filler match, but that's my opinion.
HBK versus Orton was nice. The ending was great with Kennedy.
Benjamin defeating Punk was a surprise, but great. About time someone gave the guy a big push.
Undertaker 16-0 baby! #1 Undertaker fan here lol, neat match.
HHH was definitely the right guy for Flair to 'pass the torch to' so to speak. Great match.
Chris Jericho as WHC is awesome! Screw Edge, Y2J era!
Overall, great PPV and a great WrestleMania. Kep up the awesome job!

There was something about the WrestleMania card that I just didn't like, but I can't put my finger on it. Doesn't matter though, as it was a great show. I particularly enjoyed the ending, cos I'd kill to see Y2J/Edge in a WrestleMania main event with Jericho coming out on top. Would have prefered Jeff Hardy to win MITB, but I guess MVP is ok. No complaints about anything else, and I look forward to RAW. Keep it up.

alright, i've been waiting for this...
Show vs. Kane sounded like a good monster battle, all i can say is i'm glad Show won.
MVP was the best choice for MITB imo, maybe Jeff Hardy but none of the rest are World title material. maybe it's time for a MITB winner to cash it in and lose, or at then next WrestleMania.
Batista vs. Rey, so pleased Batista won.
i would have preferred a clean finish to HBK vs. Orton, but i dont mind a Kennedy/Orton alliance.
biggest shock was seeing Benjamin defeat Punk, but it was time for a change i guess, would have been a great match to watch
glad the taker is still unbeaten, i expected it and i enjoyed reading that match.
the finish to hhh vs. flair was well done, can't wait for the hhh vs. cena match if it happens
and the ending was great and how a WrestleMania should end, overall i enjoyed reading it rated r, keep up the good work!

31st March 2008A video package plays showing RAW’s highlights from WrestleMania, focusing on the WWE Heavyweight championship match, and how tonight, Ric Flair says goodbye to his fans. The RAW opening video package then aired, followed by Jim Ross & Jerry Lawler welcoming everybody to RAW. The WWE Heavyweight Champion kicked off RAW, as Triple H, fresh from his successful title defense at WrestleMania 24 made his way to the ring to a less than kind reaction from the fans. Triple H took a minute to talk about how he is still the WWE Champion, and that last night he did what nobody else could do, retire Ric Flair. Triple H then announced that at the end of tonight’s show he will host a goodbye party to his friend and mentor Ric Flair. ‘My Time’ hit and John Cena walked down to the ring. Triple H told Cena never to interrupt him, but Cena told him to shut it, and listen to what he has to say. Cena talked about how Triple H was lucky to defeat the legend that is Ric Flair, but that if he got into the ring with a real champion like Cena, he wouldn’t stand a chance. Cena then plugged his return match in tonight’s main event, and that after he wins tonight; he is coming for the WWE Championship. Lance Cade Def. Cody RhodesA solid performance by Lance Cade saw him control the larger parts of this match, refusing to give Rhodes a chance to capitalize on any mistakes. Rhodes attempted to get some offence in, but it was all over when Cade hit the Lariat for the pinfall. Post match Hardcore Holly came out to check on Rhodes when the music of Randy Orton hit. Orton got in the ring and told Holly that he’s pathetic, showing concern for a pathetic weakling like Cody Rhodes. Orton hyped how last night he killed the legend that is Shawn Michaels, and warned Hardcore Holly that soon enough, it will be his turn, because even the most pathetic legends are worth killing. Beth Phoenix Def. Candice MichelleCandice Michelle made her return to the ring for the first time in 2008, but not even her will to compete was enough to best the Glamazon, as the Women’s champion used her brute force to control Candice early on in this match. Candice fought back through, refusing to go down, and the match became a surprisingly back and forth match, only ending when Phoenix countered the Candy kick, and connected with the Down in Flames for the win. A video package aired, showing two men sitting at a bar, drinking beers. Another man attempted to start a fight with one of the men, who busted a beer bottle over his head, only saying “Damn, that was a waste of a perfectly good drink”. The words “America’s Most Wanted are coming to RAW” appeared on the screen as the two men continued drinking. Umaga Def. Trevor MurdochUmaga planned on taking his frustrations out on Murdoch, but he was in for a surprise when Murdoch connected with a well placed boot that gave him an early advantage. This meant that the match was a fairly back and forth encounter, although Umaga was shown as a monster heel throughout, and eventually his power became too much for Murdoch, and a Samoan Spike gave Umaga the win. RAW cut to RAW’s backstage interviewer Eva Torres backstage, standing outside the locker room of the Nature Boy Ric Flair. Torres knocked on the door in an attempt to get an interview, buy Flair opened the locker room door, looking emotional, saw who it was and told her “Not tonight”, before closing the door. World Tag Team Championship Jeff Hardy & DH Smith Def. Carlito & Santino MarellaA great tag team match between these two teams. Hardy & Smith are an excellent team, and it looks like Smith is really learning from working with someone as experienced as Hardy. All four men went all out here, each hitting their signature maneuvers in an attempt to get the win. Charlie Haas, backed up by Giant Bernard walked out onto the rampway to watch the match half way through, and didn’t really look impressed by the world tag team champions. Carlito nearly had the match won after hitting the backstabber on Hardy, only to walk straight into the Stampede Clothesline from DH Smith, who got the pinfall to retain the titles. Mr. Kennedy’s music hit, and the apparent new alliance of Mr. Kennedy and Randy Orton made their way to the ring to a chorus of boos. Kennedy took the microphone first, and announced that Shawn Michaels can’t be here tonight, because he is so badly beaten after last nights events that he can’t even walk, let alone get in the ring. Orton announced that at WrestleMania 24 they took out Shawn Michaels, and that earlier tonight he gave a warning to Hardcore Holly, and that he will give it again. Orton the said that a new generation is taking over the WWE, and that any has been that cant adapt will be dropped at the hands of the newly formed Revolution. John Cena Def. John Bradshaw LayfieldA great match, although this match has been done before, it didn’t take anything away from the pure ferocity that Cena showed in this match. As soon as the bell rung Cena erupted from the corner, tackling JBL to the ground and unloading with brutal stiff punches. The match wasn’t all one sided, with both men brawling both in and outside the ring. Both men attempted to put each other numerous times, but neither man wanted to admit defeat. JBL connected with the Clothesline from Hell out of nowhere, but Cena’s determination held out, kicking out just before the three count was made. Layfield attempted another Clothesline from Hell, but Cena dodged it, and connected with the F-U for the win. After the ring had been set up for Ric Flair’s retirement ceremony, Triple H made his way to the ring. Triple H called out Ric Flair, who did his usual overdramatic entrance to a massive cheer from the crowd. Triple H told Flair that he was sorry that he had to make Flair’s final match a loss, and Flair told him that Triple H is the only man he could imagine passing the torch to. A video package was shown of Flair’s career, followed by a number of Flair’s friends and adversaries making their way to the ring, thanking Flair for everything he has given for the business, including Arn Anderson, Tully Blanchard, JJ Dillan, Dusty Rhodes, Barry Windham and Vince McMahon, along with video interviews with Shawn Michaels, The Undertaker and Shane McMahon about what Flair has done for wrestling. Flair cut a lengthy emotional promo about how wrestling was his entire life, and how everything he has done has built up to this moment. Flair shook hands with everyone, as RAW went off the air with everyone applauding Ric Flair, who stood in the centre of the ring.

Wrestlemania 24 was fantastic man, definitely worth the wait, and worth you bringing this baby back all these times. I enjoyed the opening contest, no complaints about it at all. MVP winning Money in the Bank was done one here a lot around the time of the actual event, but now that some time has passed, and most of those diaries are dead now anyways, this should be new and fresh, and I'm looking forward to seeing where you are going to go with that direction in mind. Batista vs Mysterio was excellent, though I think the finish would have been a little better if Batista would have caught Rey on the West Coast Pop attempt, and then just hit a Batista Bomb instead of a spinebuster first, since Rey would have already been on my shoulders. I just can't picture the spinebuster first in my head at all, but my only gripe with the match.
I'm mixed on Randy Orton/Shawn Michaels. The match itself was very well done. I knew that Kennedy being at ringside would have a play in the finish, and being that this is WRestlemania, it just didn't feel right. All the flase finishes were great, but since you went with the distraction card with Kennedy, I would have rather had HBK win, to keep things unpredictable, and better suited for Wrestlemania. I enjoyed the match a lot though. Punk/Benjamin was great, though it does seem weird that Orton/HBK was below them, but I've done stuff like that plenty of times, and I don't consider it a very big deal. Really good finish, glad you didn't go with a rollup or anything, this makes Benjamin look good, and a quick finish would have been badly placed here after the last matches ending.
Umaga/Undertaker was incredible, sounded like what would have been the best all around street fight since HHH/HBK at Summerslam 02, which is big praises. You used Umaga well to the point where we still knew Taker's streak would be intact, but damn did the son of a bitch have to work for it. Loved the Samoan drop on the ramp and the bare concrete spot, as well as what would have been an epic Last Ride, and a tombstone to seal the deal. Great work here, continue this feud, at least one more match. The Paul Bearer twist is intriguing.
HHH/Flair was good. Not my favorite match, but well done, though playing to what happened between HBK and Flair with the "What are you waiting for?" was a bit much, I'd rather HHH would have just beaten Flair, only then to realize what just happened.
Edge/Jericho was a great main event, and I love the submission win coming to pass here, it just felt right. Kind of wanted Edge to win, but it was a necessary move to give it to Jericho. Now to see where you play this one next.
Well, there you go. I hope this reply is appreciated, as well as my following of this diary to this point. All the work paid off with Mania, that is for damn sure. Great work. I'd love ot see this diary go into the Hall of Fame. All good booking and writing, and an amazing Wrestlemania. I'm going to recommend this for HOF
