I'm not the mod, but this should organize things. Let's see how active this topic gets, before anyone starts requesting an entire board. Hopefully this will be stickied, as comic books apparently don't qualify as entertainment.
Alright, I'll get the ball rolling.
What are your thoughts on Secret War? Personally, I like the covert angle, with the heroes going under cover. And since this involves Latveria, do you think Doom has a hand in the mission?

Does anyone read Ultimate Spiderman? I can truely say that this has to be the best ongoing book on the shelf right now.Bendis does a great job at keeping the Spiderman characters fresh and continues to draw you into the storyline. What do you think about the CARNAGE arc going on right now?..Without a spoiler for those that havent picked up this week

Also,Ive been addictive to the first volume Of POWERS.If anyone doesnt know the basic storyline it follows a man named Christian Walker. He was a former superhero that lost his powers. Now he is a detective in the "powers"division of law enforcement. So now he has to work with a young partner in solving crimes related to villains he had to battle as a superhero. The writing of Michael Bendis and the art of Avon is on point.Volume 2, issue one just came out and its already got me hooked. If your a fan of POWERS i would love to talk about it, or any other work of Michael Bendis

I have read Secret War issue 1 but since it hasnt been consistant Ive lost interest.I might have to reread it because I am really getting back into Doom.Ive been reading the new arc of Ultimate Fantastic 4 and Ive really enjoyed it so far. The Doom arc under a new writer(Bendis dropped Ultimate Fantastic 4 and Ultimate X-Men). Has alot of potential.Actually Ive really gotten into the EXILES.Late I know, but Ive been buying alll the trades and I really like the Quantum Leap vibe it gives off.

Secret War: I like the painting, but with 3 months between issues, it's hard to get into the story. Bendis has a horrible take on Wolverine. He's really out of character in this book. The undercover theme isn't terribly interesting, but I always like the inclusion of the Black Widow and whoever this new girl is. I don't think Doom has anything to do with the plot, and I hope he doesn't unless they just want to say **** you to Waid and Weiringo's run on Fantastic Four. Gabriel Del'Otto's work is the main reason I'm picking it up.
Ultimate Spider-Man: I don't read it. I don't like it. I'm not a big Bendis fan. I think it's probably due to the fact that I'm so into the real Spider-Man that I didn't like the changes Bendis made for Ultimate. Also, Bendis is a bit wordy for my tastes.
Exiles: A great book. I'm a big fan of alternate realities and the "What if?" concept. The fact that it's a bunch of characters I loved but lost (like Morph and Blink) makes it even better. I also like the revolving cast, but the removal of Nocturne in favor of Beak makes me a little sick, to be honest.

Grant Morrison's New X-Men run had some great points (like the entire Xorn thing), but some incredibly low ones (destroying Scott Summers' character, Beak, Angel, the Beakangelings)

Meh! all marvel talk, i hate marvel. SO anyways, today i bought superman/batman # 11, which was great. I also got the new JLA. I am not a huge superman fan, although the last 3 issues have been great, jim lee is awesome. Th enew JLA was about superman. he trusts this other superhero to hold this tube in a fire and it explodes and the new superhero dies and superman blames himself. so in the upcoming issues we will see how he deals with it. It was a great comic. I also finsihed Kingdom Come which was one of the best comics i've read. Very well done. Batman is done very well in the comic, his sarcastic dry humor is very well done too and is enjoyable. anways so my those are my little reveiws.

Here's the comics I'm reading right now:
Wolverine new series Ultimate Fantastic Four Superman (Jim Lee art) Powerless Astonishing X-Men
Of these, my favorite right now would have to be Ultimate FF. I really like what the guys are doing with the characters, and I'm glad to see Bendis off of this one now, so it can be different from USM.

Anyway, so says the most recient issue of Wizard. Yeah, I reead Wizard too, and I would love to see What If? come back (I could care less about Team-Up). As long as they did good stories instead of crappy ones. No "What if Ghost Rider was a girl?" or "What if Wolverine worked for SHIELD?" I'm talking "What if Magneto had killed Cyclops instead of Phoenix?" or "What if the Thunderbolts weren't revealed as The Masters of Evil?"

So mostly from 1998 and early.

I currnetly collection Spider-Man (Most Amazing and Ultimate), X-Men (Mostly Uncanny), Wolverine (Got alot from the 80's and will start on the new one soon) and Wizard comics.
I was thinking about collecting Spider-Woman but I might not, I'm happy with having all of the J2 and Wildthings... so I may just stick with working on the others before starting another collection.
I've got two Punisher comics. The Punisher Wolverine African Saga and No Escape. Their prettu good but I find The Punisher too wordy... I couldn't read them in one sitting. I've also got the Ultimate Team up with Spiderman/Daredevil/Punisher, thats pretty good.

I used to read Ultimate Spider-Man, then stopped in the Ultimate X-Men cross over. Then, last week, I found all my old USM comics, and started to read them...I then went and got up to date with Ultimate Spider-Man. I just finished issue 62, and all I can say is holy crap. I was NOT expecting where it went, and it was crazy. As much as I hated it, I enjoyed where they went. I think this carnage storyline is the best yet thus far. I wonder how everyone will react next issue, it should be one hell of an issue.
The only other comic I read regularly is Ghostbusters Legion. In four days the next issue comes out, and I am so pumped. It's been over 10 years since the last Ghostbusters comic, so it's long overdue.
I used to read Fantastic Four, and it was pretty good, but after issue 500 it just... changed somehow. I can't put my finger on it, but it changed.
I was so into Superman last year it was insane, but now I see he is too powerfull, and I don't find the character interesting anymore.
My favorite has always been Spider-Man, and I don't know why. I got into Spider-Man, but lost it when they had 4 monthly titles, and I just kept getting further and further behind. Until Ultimate, that is. I have actually kept up to date, and can't wait to see where they go with it. There are some issues I didn't like, but overall, the series is just amazing all the way around.

I used to read Fantastic Four, and it was pretty good, but after issue 500 it just... changed somehow. I can't put my finger on it, but it changed. That has to have something to do with the firing of Mark Waid and Mike Wieringo, resulting fan uproar, and resulting re-hiring of said creative team. You think they'd be a bit disheveled after that. Also, it could be the irregularity of Mike Weiringo's penciling. It alsways has an impact on me when the style of art changes over different story arcs. The guy they had on the Frightful Four arc was fine, but the guy they had doing the Authorative Action arc was a big departure from the cartoony pencils of Weiringo.

Anybody out there read Incredible Hulk? I've always been a big Hulk fan, but the Bruce Jones run has been off the charts! I read somewhere reciently that Jones will soon be leaving, and that the title will be on "hiatus" for at least 6 months. Anyone else have news on that?
