To me, this falls directly on Mattel’s marketing, OR RATHER, THE LACK OF MARKETING THIS THING HAD AT ALL. You aren’t going to get people to drop $400 in the final hours advertising it on SD after you realized your marketing flowchart for the past couple weeks was a disaster. You announce the stage during WM weekend and DON’T promote it during the actual show over two nights? I was absolutely stunned they didn’t do that and realized real quick this thing was in trouble. I love Steve, but dude can make any excuse he wants, this falls on him and his team. Total lack of competence. I wouldn't blame Steve - he's the one guy who's been working his @$$ off. But if this fails to get backed, it's definitely on Mattel... it's been handled terribly since day 1.

I wonder if there'll be a big 250-500 order from a store to save the day!?

Mattel right now wondering why it needs another 25% to go and why international sales are down 25% from last time 👆

So if this fails, what next? Is it feasible they adjust this, fix the international shipping fiasco, and maybe change up the figures, and re-offer it as a new crowdfunding? I don't do a lot of crowdfunding so not sure if there is a history of this, so not sure if this is possible. Or could they make the WCW specifically items, offer those as some sort of accessory exclusive via Ringside, and maybe also make a generic stage to be sold separately - without lights, which would presumably lower the cost? Maybe make only the stripped down version? I would pay $300 for the stripped down, no lights version, with no figures. We won't see something of this scale and price offered via crowdfund for a while, if ever. Steve said the Raw stage would be more expensive than this, and we have all seen that it's much bigger as well. You may see smaller sets like the barbershop, Piper's Pit, etc, be made available as non-crowdfund pieces. Maybe RSC exclusives or build-a-stage executions like the Heartbreak Hotel. Steve said I think during his appearance on MDT's YouTube interview that two Nitro stages exist. One will likely be boxed up and put into a warehouse and the other will find it's way into Matt Cardona's collection. I don't work for Mattel so I can't speak on their behalf, but if this doesn't fund I don't see this project being offered anytime soon. Corrected 😉.

I still think this is getting backed... it's going up a few backers every few minutes and there's still 3 hours left. Once it gets near the 4500 mark, FOMO will kick in and a lot more people who are on the fence will start backing it too.
So just relax, people (🤭).

Good luck pushing that Monday night wars line and nitro ring if this doesn’t fund:( I don't think it will make much difference, to be honest... there are waaaaay more figure collectors out there, than there are massive/expensive stage collectors. And just like with the Raw ring, the Nitro ring is a piece by itself and doesn't need a stage. Plus the exclusive Easy E figure is a big selling point.

Ahh, I feel for you. That sucks man, I think someone here said they'd hold down some for some people across the pond. I'm not sure if that would save you some money or help break the payment. Some international board members have expressed this issue for them not backing a couple times or so, and given thumbs up to my offers to use my address and recent offers to back via payment plan on my card as a middle man. Not one of those 👍 have said they’d like to discuss or messaged to try and sort out details… but they have posted after those times and said they aren’t backing cause of those same issues No disrespect, my man (very good of you to offer 👍) - but it's still a lot of hassle and very risky (on both ends), given the time period involved, the currency rates and shipping costs etc. And at the end of the day, you shouldn't have to offer. Mattel are a multi-billion dollar company - and they can't fix this issue? They're losing out on hundreds - or even thousands - of sets being backed, and seem reluctant to change it (ie. just do it the same way as before/the New Gen set). This thing might have been backed already.

Do we assume there will be an ad on Smackdown the same way they did on NXT? I’ll take whatever help we can get. I think last week's Smackdown would have been the better time to do it, but any time helps I suppose - it could really do with a couple of those 250 jumps.

To be fair, we're getting a second purple-gloved Undertaker- so a second purple tights Triple H isn't out of the question... Hopefully they'd go with a different version though.

This would have been a fantastic value with 5 figures unlocked. If it geta funded with just 2 it’ll be a little overpriced but still a very nice set. Won’t cancel my order I think. Paid more money for worse in my life. 🤣 ...think how we feel ($642)... 😪 If this were more reasonable for us here in the UK, I'd be backing it - as it is though, I'll just have to search the Bay of Evil for Steiner and (hopefully) DDP. I'll probably end up trading my New Gen set Macho.

well it ends at 11:59pm pacific so that’s 2:59am est which is technically 5/6 Oh Well, it’s a shame this didn’t make it. Putting the issues with the actual production aside, it’s a really nice looking stage and now it’s not getting made and probably nothing else will either. They’re not gonna bother with the Raw stage now. Don't write it off just yet - there's still another day left. Stranger things have happened...

I believe it's going to get funded, whether or not we get DDP that's another story. Yeah, I think there'll be a surge on the last day - enough to get the stage funded, but another 2K on top of that for DDP is a very big ask. Who knows though(?). It'll be fun watching it all unfold...

While offering all the figures would be fantastic for the fans, it's just not feasible... nor how crowd-funding works. The reason the extra figures/tiers are there is to give fans extra because they have more backers... ie. the extra funding is there. 5K plus Rey and Steiner is the maximum they can offer for for 5K backers - if they included all 5 figures at that level, they'd be making a loss - so it wouldn't be worth doing. Basically: the more backers they get, the more funding they get - so the more figures they can make.

Why on earth did they leave things like the TV advertising and Hulkster promo SO LATE!? 🤷♂️
Anyway, this next day and a bit is gonna be very interesting - as the great Mr Balboa said: "ain't nothing over 'til it's over"...

...if it takes away from the overall look and aesthetic appeal of the figure (eg. some of the Ultimate Editions), then I totally understand. I mean, that Eddie Guerrero is shocking... it's a premium figure, yet the original figure twelve years ago actually looks better. I won't disagree that the proportions on some of the UE are off but for the most part it only looks egregious when these are posed LIKE a Basic. They aren't meant to be. That older Eddie cannot be manipulated to emulate any of the iconic poses that the upcoming UE can.True. But it also doesn't look like some weird human/robot hybrid... 🤭

A lot of people prefer soft goods though, so it's one of those things where whatever they do, they're never going to please everyone. I think the coat looks good. 🤷♂️ This not a case of "you can never please everyone"....The coat is FLAT OUT AWFUL. If you like it, you have low standards. It's cheap looking and thin as hell. I'd be embarrassed to display him wearing it. Whereas the Supreme Cody, I was literally texting friends about the coat. It's night and day. Again, Mattel needs to be better with their decisions surrounding Ultimates. I'm aware that budget plays a role, but they can still do better.
...totally disagree. Personally, I prefer this Mattel one. I always prefer soft-goods over plastic/swappable arms jackets and coats... I think it actually gives the figures a more premium look and feel. So there.
