Backlash was consistently one of the better “non-big 4” PPVs IMO, mainly due to being some type of continuation from WM. 1999 gave us a classic with Austin/Rock. 2000 had Rock finally overcoming the McMahon-Helmsley regime and Austin’s brief return. 2001 gave us the 2-Man Power Trip vs The Bros of Destruction and Angle/Benoit. 2002 and 2003 were dips in quality IMO, but we did get to see Hogan win the belt one last time, and Goldberg debut against Rocky. 2004 was great with the triple threat and Orton/Foley. The last few years after this are forgettable IMO.

All calm here. Just calling out that Mattel has had Booker T signed for years, yet we’re about to get out third King Booker (a character he played for a little over a year), and a Harlem Heat repaint. Outside of these, we got a WM19 and 2002-nWo figure. The 2001 grocery-store Booker that’s coming in the Smackdown 4-pack doesn’t exactly scream “want” either. Would be nice to get a little variety considering the guy had a 20 year career. Yeah I'm disappointed that we've still not had a 1998 singles run elite Booker, nor a 2000-2001 WHC Booker. The NWO 2002 and WM19 were pretty good apart from the boots. Severely disappointing. Even if they didn't have the budget to tool those boots, they could have gone with tall laced boots and Razor/Hall calves. I'd have been fine without the straps provided he had the designs on the sides. Those would have been more accurate than what we got. So if they do make a 2000-2001 Booker, I severely hope they either tool new boots with 3 straps on the front, or give him tall laced boots. I'd buy multiples and swap them onto the NWO and WM19 Bookers. Imagine - if they had tooled new, accurate boots for WM19 from the get go, they'd have been used for NWO 2002, then they could use them for a 2000-2001 AND 1998 Booker.... So plenty of opportunity to recoup the costs by reusing. They could have even made a 1999 silver designs Booker if needed to offset the cost.... Yeah I hate those boots they used as well. If we ever get a UE Booker hopefully they put tooling into accurate ones.

How the f do we not have an official ultimate of Booker T yet? A UE Booker T would be one of the easiest figures for Mattel to make. Give us his Bash at the Beach 2000 attire with two heads from that night. The third could be a screaming-head with dreads from the final Nitro after he won the title unification match. Throw in that new WCW Title mold that was suppose to come with the Nitro Stage Hogan and a US Title and it sells.

Is it so hard to get some actual wanted names like a 2000 Booker T and Scott Steiner? Still amazed we got an nWo Booker T before a proper 2000/2001 WCW Champ Booker T. Its been 4 series, let's calm down for a bit. AFA did say this line had no scheduled finish line, and they were gonna keep it going as long as possible. Plenty of time left to get multiple versions of these guys in Elite or UE form. All calm here. It would be a 100% Mattel move if the Steiners were no longer signed and all we got were 1999 Rick and 2003 Scott.

Nay. Outside of Diesel/HBK which I enjoy, you know it’s a bad card when even the Bret match is a stinker.

Hoping for an alternate-serious DDP headscan. No clue why Jakks and now Mattel think he was “smiley-2002 DDP” his whole career.

Honestly I'm surprised we haven't had an Ultimate Earthquake or Ultimate Sid yet (perhaps 2-in-1 Sycho Sid and Millennium Man?) Chyna and Rikishi also seems like fairly obvious choices. Purely based on who we believe are currently signed to deals I mean. Sid is a strange one to me. I know his elite shelf-warmed for a bit so maybe they’re afraid to do a UE but I feel like a 2-in-1 would sell. Throw in a cloth vest, a few heads, and both the WWF and WCW Titles and I’m sold.

Pretty good objective first day for sure. Have to see what the rest of the weekend brings. As is usual with these reveals, people are grading either way by their personal wants vs objectively looking at what was shown. And? We’re collectors. The ECW reveals may be cool to some. For me, they don’t do much and are a likely pass. Same with a lot of other reveals today. That makes the reveals for me so-so.

Another King Bookah yet no WCW-Champ Booker T is lame.
No “wrestling machine” Kurt Angle is a fail.
Jeans DDP is long overdue.
Happy to finally get a WM7 Hogan.
The rest of the reveals were meh for me.

Hoping one of his big announcements at SDCC is getting Jack's Joker signed....Clooney & Arnies likeness fees are undoubtedly high so Nicholson can't be far off I can see Todd eventually getting Nicholson’s likeness. I honestly don’t think anything is off the table after the fact we got a Batman & Robin wave with a great Arnold sculpt.

McFarlane revealed their Batman Forever wave and Tumbler with Fox today. It’s rumored the year is wrong and they’ll both be released later this year. Love the Batman Forever set. Chase or Gordon would have been a better BAF IMO, but I like the bat as well from the deleted scene. Hoping we get one more Schulmaker wave with the Kilmer Panther-Suit, Clooney and gang Ice-Suits, and a BAF Bane.

Not when he returned in late-2002. This is a 2008 Kane. …exactly my point…

Anyone see the McFarlane BvS Batman at any Targets? I saw Crystal Lake got a full case of the Bale-bats but haven’t seen Affleck anywhere yet.
