This is why I just recommend classictvtoys and using their clothes to fill out crowds.

As somewhat of a wrestling historian, I think a WWE Legacy line would be neat. Obviously, I don't think retail would be the best vendor, but maybe rather as mattel creations exclusives. Superstars like Spiros Arion, Pedro Morales, Ivan Koloff, Bruno, the blackjacks, etc. Not for everyone i know, but there could be some great FTIL pieces. Iād love it and appreciate your intention. I specifically wait for random midcard elites to hit clearence so I can build different territory era people who never got elites or figures at all.

Maybe 69% of my figures are kitbashes depicting territory wrestlers and original wrestlers Iāve writtenš

š
I think I bought half the legends Bobby Heenans they made in the singlet to make a ton of smaller, less muscular looking guysš

ibb.co/LvVTDM2An unexpected positive of this figures is that they do great Greco-Roman Knuckle-Locks.

I liked Jade a lot Iām AEW but feel WWE is struggling to use her creatively. Putting her with Bianca seems like a short term solution. Where do we see this going? You mean when she was pushed to Jupiter while barely learning how to work the rocketās coffee machine? You canāt āuse someone creativelyā beyond what they are capable of carrying off. Sheās in on the job training with Bianca, things will work out in the long term and Jade will ultimately do more interesting things than be Meghan Thee Stallion cosplaying Goldberg: Goldbaddie

Also, why do so many of these figures have T shirts? Like, theyāre supposed to be ready to wrestle. I assume itās usually to get around doing the tattoos. Itās often been that way with the action feature/less detailed type sub-lines, particularly with Rey Mysterio. In this line so far, the Austin and Roman figures have been designed to be āstreet gearā looks. In Romanās case, maybe to get around the tattoos. In Austinās case, maybe to get around plain black trunks. John Cena in red t-shirt, possibly to further distinguish from his previous figure. Iām such a purist at heart, I canāt help but like my little wrestlers to be action ready lol Thankfully theyāre easily modified to look like theyāre wearing something more like a competition top instead of just a shirt.

While I know Jeremy and Jakks had their reasons, itās funny to think about how the oldest figure depictions in the very first series of Classic Superstars, had no figures depicting anyone outside of the last decade, and most of the looks were less than 10 years old. Like, Ultimate Warriorās look was the oldest at 14 years old, but Shawn Michaelsā attire was only from 7 years prior. If you look at stuff from 7 years ago now, it feels current.
I guess Iām just getting older, but itās weird how perspective changes.

If you had to pick a line of figures that would make good replacement heads for KC customs, what line would you suggest?

I also am curious how people are switching parts now with pinless joints The only way Iāve been able to customize them is to just switch out the whole arm, which is surprisingly hard because the pegs coming out the shoulder on the pre double joint arm elites and the DJA elites donāt line up perfectly.

Yāall know Iām a hyper purist and would never suggest ever deviating from the squared circle as a permanent change. That being said, Iām curious what other shapes or geometric structures yāall think would be cool for one time ring designs? Iām partial to the ring apron being at a 45 angle and padded with a thick mat.

To be fair, donāt you rewatch or talk about those events a lot more often? Five years ago would have been Lynch vs Flair vs Rousey just for the record. I get where youāre coming from, I just like being fair in my discussions. I don't know if I understand your point.... Yeah, I probably watched the early Wrestlemanias multiple times..... and I probably watched the last 20 Wrestlemanias only once.... I think it's apples to oranges though; Back then - 4 PPV's a year, they hyped them for 3 months, we were psyched & thought they were the biggest events of all time.... These days - 12 "PLE's" a year, + 3-hour Weekly RAW, + 3-hour Weekly Smackdown, + 5-6 hours of AEW programming (if you're into that), + more..... I guess it just seems like there was more importance ("Big Time Feel") placed on the events of yesteryear and today we roll through them at a rapid pace - and I'm not even saying the "old way" was better, it's just different. Add to that your original - excellent point about McMahon not "creating" new Mega Stars during the 2000's...... and what are we left with? Hundreds of hours of programming each year and a lot of guys never stand out from the crowd, lost in the shuffle. I was qualifying contributing factors to why you would remember the first manias rather than more recent stuff because Iām weird and overly committed to being rational. Youāre absolutely right that there was more emphasis placed on shows back in the day, and I think thatās exactly why WWE is trying to keep PLEs simple now.

Itās insane, isnāt it? Even fans who werenāt around for the 80s know the wrestlers then better than the roster of my own childhood(2005 to 2011) I can also pretty much recite from memory every single match from the first 10 Wrestlemanias...... And I cannot remember the main event of Wrestlemania from 4-5 years ago. To be fair, donāt you rewatch or talk about those events a lot more often? Five years ago would have been Lynch vs Flair vs Rousey just for the record. I get where youāre coming from, I just like being fair in my discussions.

My two main takeaways from this yearās SDCC. One: Late Stage Capitalism is hitting Mattel and WWE because there were significantly fewer ideas for new products this year than other SDCCs Two: Vinceās refusal to meaningfully protect his mid card talent and outright pushing back against making more new stars in the last 20 years is impacting the talent pool of people that will sell figures. I understand that a lot of people who might sell figures arenāt available, but a ton of said names were from other generations and this the problem is directly exacerbated by the lack of new stars from the last 20 years. Yes, they made some, but not as many as the 90s and 80s. 100% Agree. Upper Mid-Card Guys like Brutus "The Barber" Beefcake, Jake "The Snake" Roberts, "Million Dollar Man" Ted Dibiase, and Big Boss Man never held any meaningful titles in WWF. But people remember them 30-40 years later. They resonate. They were memorable. Itās insane, isnāt it? Even fans who werenāt around for the 80s know the wrestlers then better than the roster of my own childhood(2005 to 2011)

I hope for upcoming Cody figures they fix the tattoo on the neck ITS CLEARLY NOT ON HIS CHEEK or lower jawline BILL!!! Iād love for Bill to finally snap at someone and be a little heelish and go āWell itās Codyās Stupid fault for getting the logo blown up on such a weird spot!ā š I back Cody betting on himself, but it is a bit oddly placed and proportioned

I not sure if I am losing my mind or not, but I remember there being a Walmart Exclusive t-shirt series basic of Punk wearing this shirt. Does anyone have this figure or remember it??? They should make a cheesy babyface little kids shirt of Punk that says āGTSā but it has āGo To Schoolā instead Cause learning is cool! š
