The thing I'm perplexed about is the role Triple H has in this. We have some notion that this is primarily Vince's doing and his final say; I wonder what HHH has to say about these booking decisions and his justifications for them.

That match was phenomenal. Just goes to show you Lesnar can take eons off and still put on a good match.
For what it's worth, Vince Russo tweeted last night that he thought Lesnar was the most believable champion of all time.

Only gripe with him right now isn't even his fault; if WWE has the rights to his Crow theme from WcW, why make a new one?

Reminds me of the JoMo "The Revolution will be televised" shirt that everyone obscurely hated

I'd rather have the star than the play button (still pisses me off), but I hope the numbers don't go the way of the dodo bird. Letting XXX be the last roman numeral to mark a Wrestlemania logo would be a logical fallacy.

I feel like it will, but at the same time I feel like the coronation of either Reigns or Bryan will be saved for last...
If I had to put money on it, I'd say it will. An appearance by Sting is too likely for it not to go on last.

Revealed* And -- sweet. Could be a great setting. Does the Cowboys stadium have a retractable roof? I forget... They do, but I'd bet they'd keep it closed considering they have a MASSIVE video board: Nevertheless I'm excited.

Okay, today (1/19) is the 23rd anniversary of what many dub the greatest Royal Rumble match in history. It was a star-studded Rumble with the winner able to clutch the World Wrestling Federation Title in his arms, the ultimate prize for the sacrifice involved in the match. In real life, Ric Flair lasted from the #3 position to claim the gold, winning after a half-year in the WWF.
My question to you guys is: had Flair never jumped to WWF in 1991, who wins the 1992 Royal Rumble?
I know it's far-fetched too considering Undertaker's win and the title's subsequent vacancy was due in part to the looming Hogan/Flair confrontation that never materialized. Let's just say for argument's sake that 'Taker's still built as the unbeaten monster and dethrones Hogan, and Hogan still wins controversially at Tuesday in Texas. The title's vacant and the decision to crown a new champion in the Royal Rumble match is still made (we could say this angle was taken as a way to drum up excitement for the RR, because up to that time the Rumble match was essentially a special attraction and had no long-lasting meaning yet).
The match, as previously stated, was riddled with future Hall of Fame talent. Bulldog, DiBiase, Michaels, Piper, Roberts, Undertaker, Savage, Hogan, Slaughter, Sid, hell even Virgil graced the ring for this match. Would any of them win? Could Vince make amends with Warrior quicker (knowing he didn't have Flair at his disposal and needing another main event talent) and have him return sooner? Or would the trigger be pulled on Bret or some other up-and-coming talent right there and then (like Virgil?)? I'm curious to hear, as well, how you think Wrestlemania would have been shaped to compensate for no Flair.

Just finished Jericho's third book. As with his second, this was fantastically written with great stories but I found myself speed-reading through the Fozzy sections, although with this one I was more invested in those stories. He's got a ton of humor in everything getting to relive everything from the Michaels feud to his 2013 return with his witty banter made this one special. Kinda liked this one better than the second partly because the sphere covered in the third is fresher in my mind. Coupled with the fact I prefer nonfiction from interesting people to fictional literary classics, this one's probably in the upper eschelon of books I've read.
Probably my favorite story comes from just before Summerslam 2010 (the one with Nexus). Jericho says he felt an intense pain in his foot the day of and contacted the WWE docs to see if he was even able to go. As he was rambling on about the supposed "worst pain of his career," Doc Amann promptly removed the splinter from his foot and his mortal ailment was miraculously healed.
Some of the stuff that came off as meh (2012 return promos, WM 25) he glorifies in a way that makes me believe that they weren't all bad after all. Dunno, something about the way he justifies it. Plus it's Jericho, and how much "meh" has Jericho been a part of in his career?

It shoulda ended at Summerslam...I guess we'll have to wait till Mania.
Post-streak, I hope Rusev reverts back to the "Super Athlete" because his anti-America gimmick is absolute bugger-all without an unbeaten streak. I know we've said this a lot in the past year or so but WWE booked themselves into a corner by letting this guy go 9+ months without being pinned.

Jericho downs a few Yeah Boy!'s and the bell rings. He puts his arm around Jackman's shoulder and pulls a smartphone from his tights, snapping a selfie.

The sooner we see new Balor face/body paint, the better.

I'm not 100% sold on Balor fighting Itami already, but it sounds like a cracker of a match and as long as they continue aligning from time to time, I'm all for it.
Also glad to see the staff of NXT sees the potential in Finn already.
In all these tapings are on some unreal level. NXT is killings it on levels the main roster wishes.

I like the homage to the Doctor of Thuganomics days.
Still not inclined to drop money on it.

When they were advertising it as "Summerslam NJ/NY" I assumed they would be in MetLife...shame because open-roofed stadium in the summer would be beautiful, guess the logistics of it don't work.
I'd take either MSG or Newark as I can go either way.

The entire storyline made NO SENSE.
So Cena keeps the belt at home. Brock's been doing that since August.
Does he really play the Authority's hand there? Can't they just strip him of the belt for not defending it? Oh wait, no, that's right, our current champion hasn't defended it in 4 months!
Kayfabe-wise, Trips and Steph can just adopt a new WWE Championship and act like Cena never existed. Bing bang boom, no Cena/Rowan/Dolph/Ryback and still have the champ on the product.
Plus, a big "eff you" to John Cena for showing NO REMORSE for being the source of the firing of three guys who stood by him like that.

Considering Cena's been the focal point for the show and nearly all the storylines on WWE programming for the past 5 months or so, I'd say it'd come sooner rather than later. I just hope his tying reign isn't just a MiTB setup--that reign should be a somewhat lengthy one.

El Torito comes out dressed as a leprechaun--Finlay thinks it's Horsnwoggle.
Yokozuna enters. As he's walking down the aisle Cena sprints up behind him. He tosses El Torito out of the ring and connects with the AA on Finlay for the win, all before Yoko gets to the ring.

Suddenly, Balor enters a Samus-like Morph Ball position and rolls out of the headlock...he bounces off the ropes and rolls into Tatanka's leg, knocking him down.
Michael Cole shills the ProBoards app.
