What face scans are you guys who think Jakks did better looking at? Their Divas scans are absolutely atrocious. Has anyone looked at the Jakks Sid lately? To say that the Jakks Classic figures are better is just downright silly. Even now, with fewer legends, the Mattel Legends clearly blows Jakks out of the water. Jakks had nice ideas, but they knew they had a captive audience and did next to nothing to improve their product. A lot of people have posted that they were better at times. I can't name any off the top of my head, but a lot of heads were good.

Jakks fans will always come in and say overall that Jakks had better scans. Yet...I just don't see the evidence of it. I think this has been a myth, and I am calling BS on it.

by the time it is all said and done, mattel will have a larger roster of figures, which at the moment is all jakks has going for them.

Jakks were aiming more for the action figure feel and seriously me being a big ELITE collector over BASICS (which I still like) who cares about ab crunches really?? who sits there and plays with their figs 24/7?? petty IMO.. Oh and if Mattel is so good how come theres no photos in the database??? There is only one way to settle this between the 2 companies... A TRADITIONAL SURVIVOR SERIES TLC ELIMINATION HELL IN A CELL STAFF MATCH! jakks team vs mattel team, no holds barred, no dq, NO MERCY!!! Jumpin' Jeremy's Jakkylites versus Bunkhouse Bill's Tampo Hitters Some good scans are Paul Bearer, KK Bundy, Bret Hart, Anvil, Warrior, Windham, Nastys, Black Cat Piper, Nash/Diesel, 90s Jericho, 90s HBK, Lawler(Mattel hasn't made a classic Lawler yet, but since they said E18 was technically a flashback, i'm using that to compare)

I hate Jakks figs. They are embarrassing. I only own three, out of pure necessity. So glad Mattel took over. Such a win for us figure-lovers. I own maybe 8 to 10 Jakks WWE figures If you don't include the Rocky line they made which basically used recycled RA parts and molds which was an embarrassment when some Rocky figures had the WWE copyright notice on the bottoms of the boots and shoes. And that shine that Jakks figures were known for is also an annoyance. Continuity is another embarrassment. The first Snitsky RA had the back tattoo while his ECW figure didn't have it.

For sure! I mean Mattel really gets points just for some of the figures they managed to put out. Savage, Sting, Liz...tons of awesome figures.
The scans are amazing. The Elite collection totally blows Ruthless Agression out of the water. Mattel happened to come at a great moment. Remember when everyone was like "oh NXT guys will never have figures until the main roster." I think the addition of NXT figures boosted Mattel's line immensely.
The only thing I can say is their Legends line died too quick. I'd love to see Mattel make more legends at a quicker pace. But again it's good they don't. After so many series, Jakks started making really weird figures. Ernie Ladd comes to mind immediately haha. We have to admit that there was a lot of wasted space in the Classic Superstars line. Wasn't there a series with like 3 friggin Hogans?!?! Haha.

mattel dont even make the heads. the same company that makes jakks heads do theirs True, I think the biggest difference is the paint apps on the heads that people are referring to. I could be wrong though.

I prefer mattel, I was skeptical when I first read Mattel was going to take over, I was thinking WWE Barbie but I believe Mattel knocked it out the park I will say Jakks really got into the legends, they made Ron Bass, Magnum TA, Billy Graham, etc jakks never made magnum t.a. I guess I saw a custom and thought it was authentic retail

Overall it seems the Mattel quality is a ton better. I'll admit to enjoy Jakks scans a little more, but the head is only a small part of the figure itself.

While I enjoyed jakks when it was around, Mattel hit a home run, I was hesitant to switch until I saw basic 1 at retail, haven't looked back since

Mattel as a company is 14 times bigger than Jakks.
It's not a surprise.
As for the wind up merchant who still says Jakks UFC outsells Mattel, I think he was referring to in the UFC shop....
Jakks Website doesn't even mention UFC anymore.

There are definitely some Jakks scans that win though.
A lot of HBK and HHH are so much better.
Hulk Hogan scans were usually great, especially those new TNA.
Ron Simmons all day long.
Jerry Lawler.
To name a few.

Quality is better, accessories are better, headscans are better (mostly) As far as lineup, Jakks had the license longer than Mattel to this point so its not fair to compare on that yet.

I really want to see Mattel do 2 Cool because Jakks did a good job on that tag team. Maybe after the Dudley's, Harlem heat and the outsiders we can get that tag team.

When you look at Jakks, all I really think of now- compared to Mattel- is the number of classic figures they made. But I think it's just a matter of time before Mattel catches up to Jakks in that sense because when you compare the rate at which Jakks was cranking them out to how Mattel releases them. I mean, Mattel has time, so hopefully they will surpass Jakks on that list of names eventually.
Comparing figures made of current roster members, yeah, I'd love a Mattel version of Paul London, Brian Kendrick or Charlie Haas, to name a few, but I'd gladly trade that to have the figures we have from Mattel (and will get from Mattel) because I just feel like the talent pool is so much better in WWE right now than it was when Jakks was making the figures. I look at it like Heidenreich. Would I buy a Mattel Flashback of the guy? Maybe. Do we need a Mattel version of him though? Not really. A lot of the characters who were on the roster at the time that Jakks made just don't seem to matter to me however many years later (Sorry, Luther Reigns) But I would buy Flashbacks of some of them. But when you think how Mattel has given us (or will give us) Daniel Bryan, Samoa Joe, Kevin Owens, AJ Styles, Austin Aries, Finn Balor, Hideo Itami, etc. etc. etc. there is just no comparison. And don't get me started on the terrible TNA Jakks line because those figures don't count.
