i said it a few weeks back.. people have stopped buying retail and WWE figs in general. the price and the outdated attires is what i can point my finger to. Also add QC in there. But also i think WWE isnt as popular now either. Arent they still losing ratings each week? i havent checked in a few weeks, but i can remeber when people were buying alot of figs but ive never seen so many people "quitting" collecting on here than i have over the last 2 years. Some peoples stores are different but i know out of 3 wallys and 2 targets and 1 TRU and 1 Kmart , around me, nothing moves. unlike it used to be.

Raw is losing but I think Smackdown is gaining, literally exactly like the first draft

One of the big problems for me is that they'll put out a set like B63 with eight different figures in it and the only one I'd actually maybe buy is Baron Corbin because I don't have a figure of him yet, but if I can't find him at mass retail hell I'll wait for an Elite as he's not top of my list either. It's not the fault of WWE or even Mattel, but it's just that the two parties have been together for so long that at this point it makes sense for there to be new figures of John Cena, Roman Reigns, Seth Rollins, Dean Ambrose, Bray Wyatt, etc. because these are the top guys and you have to imagine that maybe some kid out there somewhere is getting into wrestling figures for the first time and so he needs/wants that figure we've already passed on a hundred times because we're like "Ugh another Cena". I just feel like there needs to be a better balance between what the collector wants- the ones who have been with the line for a while- and what the kids need. I'm not saying Mattel should make an entire series dedicated to "First Time In The Line" figures, but I mean, when you have six to eight figures per series and I'm only interested in one or two of those then that number should try to go up to maybe three or four.
Really, the best way to describe retail for WWE figures in 2016 is to look at the Battle Pack series with Enzo & Cass in it. I'll walk into any Walmart right now and not find them but find at least ten of the Bushwhackers and ten of Vince/Austin. It's like the collectors and even kids bought what they wanted and not the leftovers (which is more than what was actually purchased) are left to rot.

Perhaps at retail, but none of the stores around me have new stuff and if they do get new stuff its not hanging there long. There's still a market just need to figure out their distribution.

If I was going off what I see in stores, yes. Retail space by me has decreased as well as replenishing. About three months after it was released on RSC it would hit stores by me. About 6 elite series a year. Now I miss entire series releases.
I have no idea about the on-line sales though. Personally I have resorted to ordering from Amazon when they go for market value. The lack of product in big box stores has had me change my purchasing habits which sucks for a figure hunter but it's been so depressing for the last year.
Last series I saw in e dry store was Elite 36. Since then there's been no method to the madness.

I think popularity has waned. Wish I collected Marvel. As a hunter that seems like the best product line.

Seems to me the audience has become a lot more hard-core. New characters fly off the pegs but guys like Cena, Rock, Undertaker etc. are a thing of the past after 10-15 years of being merchandised to heck and back.

This isn't going to end well... Plenty of people on here would give their right arms to have the "shelf-warming" selection u have. And no, supply and demand. Mattel are likely just making more But it's a pain when you have to ask a grumpy floor worker to open a case for you because there is no room on the pegs.

Yes, they're less popular, that's why they're ending the Elite line. Since when?

We need a topic called "Post pictures from your local Smyth's." I need to see evidence of these gold mines. That is from one of @speaktomewarriors recent trips. Yep just like mine.

Figures are less popular but stars are also overly popular. Balor, Owens, Zayn etc are stars that sell and the problem is the series also gets lumbered with legends that younger kids probably haven't heard of so shops aren't going to buy a whole assortment for 1 figure.

My local Walmart rolledback prices on elites to $14.92, basics to $7.44, and 2-packs to $14.92. I know for a fact they did not drop that much a year ago. If Walmart is having enough problems selling wwe figures with the glut if product not moving, that should be a good example of what is going on currently.
If wwe was as popular as it was 5, 10, 15 years ago this should not be happening. Combine that with Amazon/eBay/rsc filling the void for people sick and tired of going to stores and not finding new product.

Figures don't warm at Smyths in Bristol , they always restock and have good selection but as soon as a new set hits the place goes nuts , people were taking whole sets of e44 and e45 and there's practically none left! Older characters and legends are the problem- whilst they are my favourite a lot of young kids are not so in to them. Like what 10 year old needs the 3 faces of tugboat??? Some are destined for the shelf forever....sting is a prime example, great for collectors but kids don't want a 25 year character in all of his attires and parents don't want to pay for another John cena just cause his hat is a different colour

I think the area has a big factor to do with it and since I am more of an adult collector I usually order all my stuff online anyway. I'm sure many others do the same. Not sure if they are losing popularity though.
