I know that there are number of members on this board that enjoy flashbacks in every elite series and I respect that. But I think it has got to the point now where it is taking too much room in every series. I might be in the minority but I feel like the regular elite line should cater to the current roster and sprinkle in flashbacks 1 to 2 in every other series. Also, if you're going to make a flashback it should be of important memorable superstars. It's weird that Mattel would waste part of their budget on the Nasty Boys, Warlord, or Berzerker, but current guys like Titus O'Neal and Cruiserweights can't get an elite in the line...
Open for discussion guys.

I can't understand how anyone needs another Orton, cena or reigns when I don't have mean gene, bob backlund, mr Fuji, Billy graham etc.

Well the Cruiserweights are about to start showing up in the line. Don't forget it takes 9-12 months or so to get a figure out. As far a Titus and characters like that, they usually rot (Bo, Sandow, Rowan, etc). I'm not say flashbacks never rot (Sid and Tito I'm looking at you), but 99% of the time they're the first to go from a fresh case.
I personally collect flashbacks so I'm sure I'm a little biased, but I'm confident Mattel has numbers to prove the flashbacks and 5-8 big names on the current roster are what make them money...
Side note- I'm down for a heel all black Neville. Love his new gimmick and really am trying to convince myself that the new CW division is/can be as awesome as WCW's was

I am more annoyed with the fact it seems like there is anew set out every week and I don't get a chance to catch up and pace My buying. It's one after another after another. If they only made top level flashbacks they would eventually run out of Names, rather quickly too, and be nothing but repaints. People complain we get too many macho man and ultimate warriors as it is. I like the obscure and colorful guys made it figure form. They also sell Quick Bc kids like them for those reasons.

I would rather if they had flashbacks they'd use them for stars people actually remember and not some geek that was seen twice and never again and for some reason is considered a legend because of it

Honestly, flashback elites should have their own series. It would be Mattel's equivalent of the Classic Superstars line only better, plus it would then free up the space in the regular elite series. Then everyone goes home happy.

I collect both so i'm good as is. With all the different lines(Elite,TNF,HOF,NS,DM) we get a good mix of FB and current superstars.

I'm fine with the way Mattel is doing things. I've been watching wrestling since the early 80s so I like the flashbacks and the current guys. This means that some elite sets I end up getting all six figures and for the average set I get at least three. If they split the flashbacks into their own line with a separate release schedule from the current elite line I don't think I could keep up with getting all the figures I want. It would be too expensive.
I think that may be part of the reason Mattel doesn't change things up. A current elite line and a flashback elite line could over-saturate the market, hurting sales across the board. At least that's my theory for now.

Why not get rid of goofy side lines (tough talkers and other weird stuff except zombies) and have a legend line like the the one they had before e44 but not just repaints but actually attires and superstars people want and not just another Shawn Michael's repaint of the many glorious he could have on the line or have a set like e53 were it's a first time in line were it's new guys like galgaher Titus. Bobby Rhode and etc. Easy like that maybe

You're probably gonna get more people disagreeing than agreeing with you on this one (I think most of us skew a little older on this board). I'm an older collector so I prefer flashbacks myself but also collect modern figures of characters I like. I do feel for modern-only collectors though because the current elite split does mean that there are a lot of modern characters that get passed over due to a lack of spots.
I'd love for separate modern/flashback elite lines but after so many years of tinkering with their lineups (Legends line, first DM run, entrance greats, etc. ... to now, with modern/flashback Elite waves, HOF, TNF, 1 DM per quarter, etc.) it seems as if Mattel definitely has found their sweet spot for sales. The first Legends run bombed for a ton of reasons that I don't need to get into here, but based on everything Bill has said he likes the current format because we can get most of the characters we want one way or another.
Not perfect, again, I'd prefer separate elite lines, but it seems to be working for the most part.

I'm predominantly a flashback collector so with that being said I'm all for more flashbacks in the line, especially obscure ones. My main years of watching were around 97 -'01 a time when the low to mid card really contributed to the whole product compared to nowadays. If I knew I couldn't one day get the likes of D'lo or Dean Malenko I probably wouldn't have started collecting.
I would love an all flashback line if it could get the more obscure figures out, possibly in smaller quantities so they don't rot. However the current formula of sprinkling two in every elite series works perfectly fine for me. It certainly saves me money and gets me excited when one ends up being an AE star.

I'm a huge fan of Flashbacks and I think they should have their own line entirely. Elite for current guys, and Flashback Elite for older guys. That way everybody wins.

I mean how many repaints of Roman Reigns and John Cena do you want ?
I'm honestly surprised that they don't include MORE Flashbacks in the Elite line ...

...The Nasty Boys weren't memorable/deserving of Flashbacks?
Personally, I'd rather have ANY Flashbacks over current day jobbers like Titus O'Neal (...Bo Dallas, Adam Rose, Damien Mizdow etc. just seem to rot on the shelves... at least a guy like Sid was packed 2 per-case - and is a memorable character and former WWE champion). I'm not really bothered about Elite Cruiserweights either, but I imagine they'll be the odd ones included in the Elite line.

I love the flashbacks. My problem with current roster guys is the one's people really don't want keep getting made over and over again in the elite lines. Like the new day, Ambrose, Cena, and Roman. This takes up space for other current guys like Titus and Bray who need elites made. Known I realize from a retail sales perspective Mattel has to do this because those are the popular guys on TV with kids; who are the consumers of most of the figures. So I do understand what Mattel is doing. But I agree also Mattel needs to do as Jakks did and make there a regular elite line and then a flashback elite line. If there worried about flashbacks warming shelves then just only make the line like 4-5 figures a series and 2 figures of each a case; or they could make the flashback elite line a RSC or Amazon exclusive that would really help sale it. I actually liked the legends series they use to have and the re-release flashback series they did last year; as well as the HOF line and TNF. Its just they need to figure out a way to market and produce these lines better so they are not warming shelves.
And also speaking of the HOF line, I wonder if the NXT line is going to replace the HOF line with target. I notice how GameStop got rid of there exclusive line; that's why RSC is selling the Jericho and Samoa Joe ( which I am perfectly fine with .

Since the current roster absolutely sucks... Flashbacks all the way!
