1. I love to see the design concept images on paper first so we see what is coming. To me there is something so cool about the anticipation and seeing what is coming.
2. When we know there are NEW (never made by Mattel before) figures being introduced. For example, the additions of Kurt Angle, Hardy's, Mean Gene Okerlund, Wendi Richter, Jack Gallagher etc and any new Elite coming out adds to the diversity of my collection. Sometimes a new remake of a figure I look forward to because it's a better outfit or better sculpt. They get it right most of the time ... but like Jimmy Snuka or the Wild Somoans - I wish they would do better.
3. Then see how the actual figure looks from the design to reality. Hearing Q & A with Bill
4. Getting them in hand.
Those steps for me are all part of the enjoyment of collecting all figures but specifially here. During the time of LJN and Hasbro ... I used to call Hasbro and they would make photo copy's for me of what figures were coming out throughout the year. So cool.

The Rock and Rocky Johnson (Son and Father) Kurt Angle and Ken Patera (Olympians) Rusev and Ivan Koloff (russians) Shinsuke Nakamura and The Great Muta (Asian) Bray Wyatt and Kevin Sullivan (Psycho's) Jeff Hardy and Jimmy Snuka (High Flyers) Somoa Joe and Haku (Samoans) Goldust and Adrian Street (Flamboyant) Jinder Hahal and Iron Sheik (Middle eastern) Sheamus and Ivan Putski (Muscles) Kevin Owens and Harley Race (Rednecks) Braun Strohman and Bruiser Brody (Brawlers) Luke Harper and Abdullah the Butcher (Animals) Erick Rowan and Ox Baker (BIG) Big E and Superstar Billy Graham (Sculpted) Probably someone better than Big E ... but big AJ Styles and Jack Briscoe (Champions) Elias and Jeff Jarrett (Guitars) Could have done Honkey but wanted someone new) Dean Ambrose and Rowdy Roddy Piper (Crazy) Cesaro and Tony Atlas (Strong) Daniel Bryant and Dory Funk Jr (Champions) Bobby Roode and Black Jack Mulligan (Cowboys) Heath Slater and Brooklyn Brawler (Losers) John Cena and Hulk Hogan (Champions) Baron Corbin and Diesel (Monsters) Big Cass and Psycho Sid (Monsters) Big Show and Andre the Giant (again) (Giants) Dolph Zigler and Ric Flair (cocky) Fandago and Big Bossman (police) Randy Orton and Bob Orton (Son and Dad) Rhyno and Crusher Blackwell (Compact) Primo Colon and Carlos Colon (colon's) Roman Reigns and Nikita Koloff (Champs) Seth Rollins and Ronnie Garvin (champs) Xavier Woods and Koko B Ware (High Energy) Curtis Axel and Mr. Perfect (Son and Dad)
Again, if this is how they would make legends I would buy. If they do them alone ... even better for me.

Whatever way helps Legends be made I am for ... Again, I had all LJN, All Hasbro and Galoob, Jaaks and now these Mattel scale elites are the best and call me greedy but I want everyhting to come full circle.

Why would Virgil sell and not Harley Race or Bob Backlund? I love that they are making Virgil but stop with the haters poo pooing legends ... Superstar Graham, Ronnie Garvin, the Briscoe's, Dory Funk all champions.

I would get Gorgeous George too and would love Ivan Koloff & Nikita Koloff etc ... would buy all Legends. Please WWE allow it and Bill please do it. WWE celebrates history in books, video games and Network ... let them be immortalized as figures.

Bill, I am a huge fan ... love the scale of Mattel Elites. I collected all of LJN, All of Hasbro's, All of Galoob, All of Jaaks and nothing is better than Mattel Elte scale sized figures .. but we need to stretch the legends more ... especially if Toys R us, Wal-mart - Target, Meijer has the ability to get their own which seperates them from others. People will order on-line and go there just for them.
Bob Backlund & Harley Race are no brainers to make. No excuse. Legends. Champions. Great relationship with WWE. There is a historical market for them and the years they were great! Harley King and Harley champion. Bob Backlund Good guy 6 years Champion and Bitter Bob Backlund crazy!
Ronnie Garvin has never been made and would be a fun one to add. Ron Simmons.
Obviosuly if Superstar Billy Graham could hush it .. he would be great.
Then of course the other legends like Bruiser Brody and some of the Hall of Famers. Let's honor the best of the best with figures PLEASE.
Eric Bischoff would be fun for the Monday Night Wars

HUGE FAN OF MATTEL ELITES!
Love the Hardy's, Kurt Angle, Virgil, Mean Gene, Howard Finkel Wendi Richter etc ... I appreciate those legends & Current new ones. I also think it is neat that you do rereleases for those who did not get a chance to get them initially. I did get mine when they initially came out and have been a loyal buyer.
I really feel they NEED to do Harley Race and Bob Backlund just out of respect of CHAMPIONS - for HISTORY and there is no drama there with concussions etc ... I simply don't understand not making those historic champions. Of course I would like to see Steiner's, Superstar Graham, Barbarian, Haku, and the list goes on ... but to ME ... if they rewarded historic people who honor WWE (like Backlund and Race) it may get others eventually to do so as well so our collections can be complete.
I would think kids would like cool looking themed figures ... I think is what made those 80's and 90's wrestlers so cool in their look. The Great Muta, King Haley Race and regular Race, Billy Superstar Graham, Killer Khan, Jessie the Body Ventura, The Black Jack's etc ....

Nice. Yes I think it is awesome that Mattel is engaging the Retro line. I have all of them from the past and adding new is GREAT! I hope they get rid of the Jumpy figures ... Goldberg, Snuka, Triple H, Sting style and come up with a few different styles and redo.

I agree. I love the Elite Mattel Figures and the great Scale. But need those older legends. I don't care if they are 1 or two in the mix - if there is a Legends Line - if you have to order them on-line ... something ... but I want them. WWE does so many great things including the network and honoring the past ... but man do they like to squash legends and they need to keep all people engaged.

I am curious why it takes so long to get The Hardy Boys out, Goldberg, and Kurt Angle etc and newer figures so if that is why legends are slowing down it makes sense ... but wish they were included. That is why I have not been so keen on the last few elite lines. No legends and virtually nothing new.

These need to be included with regularity for a multitude of reasons. Why have the WWE Network and all of the video games, books from the past without honoring them with figures from the ultimate line? Whether they come out as one a month on-line? one or two in each elite line? A legends line on their own? Somehow it should be done. At minimum ... I would have Mattel do concept art or a figure and then offer it on-line. I think Virgil will do well and he wasn't even a main stream character. How would Harley Race, Billy Graham, Haku, Steiner's, Greg Valentine etc do? Let's do it

Has Bray changed that much to have his third elite or more? Several Charlotte options and same with the Uso's both in elite and basic. Obviously plenty of Cena's ... so only Rich Swann is a new figure. NO legends? No Flashbacks BAd bad bad! This is not great and as a passionate collector I am not buying duplicates without significant changes to the character or the best rendering. I am rooting for Mattel and want them to succeed .... but I can't support it or 53. So the wait for legends and new figures in elite form will continue .... and I have my money on stand by.
