All of the above really, except about the device thing...
Anyway, I just wish there was just 1 KIND OF FIGURE ONLY and they ALL CAME WITH THE STUFF THEY'RE SUPPOSED TO COME WITH. Basic, Elite, I don't care. And not only the continuation of Legends but the deepening of the line as well. And, I guess close to the #1 thing, if not the #1 thing, would be distribution.
I know it only said 1 thing, but c'mon everybody else said 2 or 3 things too. Sue me.

Oh, that and everything from Comic Con looked nothing short of perfect and was incredible. The future is bright. Thanks Mattel for everything.

That, even though I was one of the guys that really pushed and imagined greatly for the new scale, I don't mind that it's not gonna be a big deal. I do collect these figures, love them to death, I just wish there was a way to get everybody currently and ALL throughout history out there from Mattel, who is IMO the best ever at doing these so far. I really don't know why Legends didn't do so well. To me, the collection is not complete without them, but at least we're getting some in the Elite Flashbacks. I really would love to see them go back after Legend talent and do some more, all we would love to see. For me, I'm thinking as far back as Bruno, Superstar, Koloff, Morales, Race, Flair, Rhodes, The Funks, The Briscos, Pat Patterson,Magnum, JYD, even Buddy Rogers, and onward. And rings and accessories to complete.
That being said...
I still want the Gobbeldy Gooker!!! There's...there's just gotta be a way...

Yes they are definitely working on a new scale. Bill Kerner said so from his own mouth back at Toy Fair and that it will launch Spring '13. I don't agree that it will replace the already existing 6 inch figures but this will give those of us that love the WWE, love collecting, that don't have a lot of money, or a lot of room, the chance to get a good, hopefully complete collection. If this is done like I and others have laid out(which we agree mostly on) then I think it really has the chance to be...and I want Mattel to see this.....
EPIC.

...they would produce more Elites. Really fill out the roster with that line! And I know everybody's gotta agree with me on this. Also that, and make that "premium" ring(or rings) Bill Kerner was talking about and give the rings and stuff like that an overhaul, make them more realistic(right colors on posts and everything) and bigger but not real scale. New barricades(the actual size w/the logos in the corner) would be great, as well as that long-awaited Entrance Stage! Oh, and please include steps with this possible new ring. I stated it this week, but I really think a supplimental Elite series would really help. Maybe 1 or 2 a year with maybe like 4 figures(the mid-card to lower-carders)so we Elite collectors can hopefully have it all. That's what that line is geared for anyway, right? Us collectors? Is that why it's called the Elite COLLECTION? My thoughts anyway. Thanks.

I was just thinking and wishing this, and was about to post something. Yes oh Yes do I ever want more depth in the Elite line! And I don't care if they're on Raw, Smackdown, Superstars, etc. they're in the WWE, they deserve a figure and I'd love to have a new Elite Tyson Kidd and Drew Mac. Not to mention Alex Riley, Brodus Clay, David Otunga, even Luaranitis w/ his scooter(wouldn't that rule?!) Great Khali(I don't care what you said Mattel, we want it, make it happen) Jinder Mahal, so many others and of course updated versions of Zack Ryder, Jack Swagger, Kane, Cody Rhodes, Santino, Daniel Bryan in "Yes" gear, Wade Barrett w/removable jacket, so many. I do want the Elite line to be as deep as the basic line, and I'm not the only one!! And yes I love our Flashbacks too. I think they should do like a supplemental Elite line with like 4 or so figures in it, kind of in between series maybe, to fill in these blanks. And there's always Matty.

Good info. I kind of look at it like this, if they were going to outright say "NO" to something on here, they do that more often than not. Whereas in the threads I've posted pretty similar to yours, I've even called them out and got no response. That actually tells me they're listening and taking our ideas into consideration with this new scale. Otherwise I think I would've been shot down by now. Ya know? I'll have to look up those other figs you talked about.

I don't really care if they're basic or elite styled, as long as they look good and they have the accessories to complete them, that's all I care about. RT classicfan2: I'm not really familiar with the other figures you mentioned, well except Jakks BnB which I agree with you on, but when you talk about multiple figure packs like that, man I hear that!

You're hitting the nail right on the head, man! This is everything I've always preached since they announced it. I say YES, YES YES! to the new scale IF DONE RIGHT like you've laid out. I feel everything you said as far as rebooting the line and us collectors towards it as well. Everybody does win, and I would love to see things like classic ring and/or entrance setups like maybe WrestleMania 3 with a ring cart, or an old school Raw with the big R,A,W, or In Your House would be cool, also WCW, ECW, just anything like that. Give us the entire experience! Go back and watch classic footage of Superstars and Wrestling Challenge, and WCW and ECW and the AWA. I wish we could get an 80's NWA but Idk. But, anyway, give us that stuff! WCCW, too. Everything, all inclusive, as I've said previously.
I would also love to see things like Superstar and Legends rides, IE Alberto Del Rio's car with a figure of him and/or Ricardo with him, of course Eddie Guerrero w/a lowrider, any classic moments like that, and speaking of moments...another idea I have is called Famous Scenes or Classic Moments like the Macho Man/Elizabeth wedding. It could be the figures in their wedding attire from Summerslam '91 with the decorations, even that Summerslam ring. Also Piper's Pit, Snake Pit, any old talk show would be cool. How bout the Barber Shop? Maybe even with the figures of Shawn Michaels and Marty Jannety from when Shawn put his face through the window. Any classic moments like that. Maybe they could be exclusive somewhere if they have to. Anyway, I just wanted to add those ideas on. I think all this would be nothing short of...well since this is PG I can't say, but really really freakin' cool.

And another problem is that Mattel's distribution is beyond crap. I want to be able to find this stuff any place I want. And I HATE this short-packing crap they do.

See that's mostly what I do too(for the moment). I just try to collect everybody whether it's basic or elite and try to get the best figure of everyone whichever one it is and, of course, most current. You guys hit the nail on the head about the basic turnaround vs elite turnaround, and basic gives us the full roster, etc. I just wish there was one line of figures that didn't short on accessories, included everybody, and was released in a timely fashion and not 1 year later we get Jinder Mahal, Sin Cara, etc. And Legends too, not leaving out anybody possible! Know what I mean? And I'm hoping the new scale next Spring will be that, at least for me. I see no appeal in FlexForce and Rumblers, although I will say some of that stuff is pretty cool and would've been cooler when I was 7.

Everything sounds pretty familiar to me so far. Maybe I'll hit up these classifieds on here for some accessories. It sucks bc I can't really afford to keep collecting as much as I'd like. I'm trying to see ways I can do it. I can't wait for the new scale to see what it's gonna be like. I've pushed and pushed for that on here with threads detailing what I'd like to see it be. As long as it had the same accessories like Elites and like rings and everything, and of course Legends and Divas, I'm all over that.

... As to how everybody collects their figures. Do you just buy Basics only? Elites only? Mix of both? Does anybody buy just the basics and then buy things like the Elite accessories by themselves from EBay or somewhere else? Or maybe a custom t-shirt maker? How do you buy/collect your figures? Just wondering this...
Me personally I mix both, but lately it's been getting to my wallet. Kind of looking for a cheaper way to do it if possible. I notice some custom t-shirt maker's sell their homemade shirts for like $6 a pop which isn't bad, and I see from time to time that Elite accessories are on EBay by themselves, so just wondering.

But they've mishandled many lines for many years - they don't seem to know how to get things right via distribution.
It does seem like the discontent is really peaking lately - and with good reason.[/quote]
I'm right there, too. I've been a life-long collector and I was just about to post something about it but I saw this thread. When I was a little kid I remember Hasbro's were $8 a pop then at the nearest KB and I couldn't get all of them then no matter how hard I tried and they weren't even hard to find in-store. Granted, I was in single digits and all I had was an occasional allowance but anyway. What I'm saying is it's come to that same point with me. It disappointed me so much then as a little kid that right there was every figure in the line but I could only get 1 or 2 at a time because if someone old enough remembers- Walmart didn't get these after the first series and if you didn't have a KB or TRU locally(like I didn't, I had to drive about an hour and a half being from a small town) that was it, and we didn't have online retailers back then either, and $8 a pop for a figure in the early 90's was expensive. I love the WWE and have my entire life and will forever but, when I go on Ringside(because finding the figs I want at retail is about a 50/50 shot which is a gamble I don't want to take) and I see that 2 Kevin Nash's are over $80 together and Yokozuna is now $50, do I have to say it? This is WAY TOO MUCH. It is, and it's sucking the life out of me and I'm not the only one. I've been saying it for months now- I hope the new scale they're launching next Spring will save us collectors. Either that or for goodness sake straighten out their distribution so we can all buy these at the SRP or both. I'm on the verge of saying it...I'm just gonna say that sometimes I want Jakks back...sometimes. Simpler times...simpler times.

Firstly...in the name of everything that is right YES! Give us Legends, and I'm not talking about one or two here or there, I'm talking everybody. Divas, too. Full roster. And nothing is going to happen with the Basic and Elite figures....that I know of. However if this line is pulled off like I want to see it, it will replace those figures for me. And, for the record, if you don't care about the history of this business, you're not a real fan, plain and simple.

Key words: IF DONE RIGHT. If they don't do this right and they wind up like the figs they've done like that in the past, then it would be a waste just like rumblers and flexforce are. I, as a collector, just want completion and accuracy. Sometimes, I miss Jakks because they had the Classic Superstar line that nearly saw everybody, and I mean EVERYBODY, and it went on and on and on, Jakks did what us fans asked or at least really tried to. The only problem w/ Jakks was the figures were never in scale, that was their only problem. I just think that my model for what this scale should be would be awesome. May be just me though. Oh, and the reason I said it seems there is a general tiredness is bc every day I'm on here and I see somebody post they they're done collecting and a lot of whining and complaining. I feel that too. We lifelong fans and collectors want as close to if not perfection in every aspect of it. Besides, it's never been done before, not what I'm talking about anyway.
