What about white guys who are afraid of showering with black guys? Should we make separate areas for each race?
How about we make a separate shower for those who feel uncomfortable, everyone else can use the other showers.
The only way to make EVERYONE comfortable is to give every soldier a private showering stall.

And yes, I believe private showering stalls are in order.

Saying preference makes it seem like we choose to be this way. Actually, I feel exactly the opposite about the word. You COULD have sex with a woman if you wanted to, I COULD have sex with a man. But we don't PREFER those things. We're naturally inclined to like one thing or another. I may like vanilla ice cream way more than I like chocolate ice cream which means I "prefer" vanilla ice cream. I didn't just decide one day, "I like vanilla ice cream more," and force my taste buds to agree.

Maybe it is because every time I hear someone use that phrase, they say it in a snarky tone of voice.

WTF is he even talking about? Is he seriously implying that the House of Representatives all get together and shower at about 1:00 in? Honestly, this is such a ridiculous argument that he's putting up. So he says that it "would disrupt people" that females and males would shower together? What, exactly, does he think the reason is that males and females don't shower together?

Well Slappy, you should know by know that I'm not a bigot. I just know how guys are. We're a bunch of creeps who think about sex constantly. Gay or straight. To act like there wouldn't be sexual tension is absurd.

Do straight people think that now with the policy repealed that gay people will start molesting them in the showers or something like that?

If I claim I'm gay for 15 years and hang out with a bunch of girls who feel comfortable being naked around me... Then I come out as being "straight," how do you think they'd feel about that? Think they'd still want to get naked around me all the time? We have separate showers to begin with to avoid sexual tension between males and females. I don't understand why it's so hard to believe that people would want the same thing for same-sex sexual tension.

But what would be the point of lying and saying you are gay? Was it just so you could become friends with those girls and see them undress?
Would someone who is gay pretend to be straight just to see a member of the same sex naked?

Would someone who is gay pretend to be straight just to see a member of the same sex naked? Certainly many gay people do pretend to be straight. I imagine that the reason is that they are uncomfortable with people knowing that they are gay. My point, though, is that the "naked circumstances" change when your sexual preference is known by others.

I know gay people pretend to be straight, but I'm doubting it has anything to do with seeing someone of the same sex naked. I don't see why someone would pretend to be gay, no matter the reason. Do we have to create a whole separate section for transgender soldiers?

Do we have to create a whole separate section for transgender soldiers? It's all about sexual preference, in my opinion. But again, I believe this would all be solved by separate showering areas for every individual.

I truley dont see how you fail to understand such simplistic logic. =/

Do you honestly think that will happen? That gay people will now go after straight people in the showers? I fail to understand why someone cannot be for basic human rights.

Why would a gay person all of a sudden think that it is ok to go after someone in the shower now that they can be open? It's not necessarily about "going after" someone. But I can guarantee that if there were a bunch of naked chicks in the shower with me, I'd be lookin'. I can't imagine why it'd be any different for gay men looking at men. Explain to me how I'm wrong. I fail to understand why someone cannot be for basic human rights. Showering with people of the same sex is not a "human rights" issue, man. LoL.

Who gives a crapif they are gay or not. They share a shower they share a shower. they all have a dick and a sack. that's the biggest in problem. everyone is so in homophobe its sicking. My sister has a very openly gay best friend i joke with him and hug him. Do i look at him and say gee i hope your not getting off on this hug? no that's beyond absurd. No matter if your straight or gay your going to look at other guys in the shower enless you take one with your eyes shut. Its just not possible to walk around a shower room and not see a dick or ball or ass. There is also a big difference between looking and touching.

I think they'd be more professional. Clean up and get out of there. Why would they travel across the world and put themselves in harms way just to look at someone naked? Doesn't make sense. They are there to do a job not get it on. I'm not saying showering is, I'm saying serving is. We shouldn't force people to serve silently because people are afraid of showering.
