I think they'd be more professional. Clean up and get out of there. Why would they travel across the world and put themselves in harms way just to look at someone naked? Doesn't make sense. They are there to do a job not get it on. No one is saying that people are joining the military with the sole intention of looking at guys in the shower. But if the opportunity is there, why not? I'm not saying showering is, I'm saying serving is. We shouldn't force people to serve silently because people are afraid of showering. I'm absolutely not saying that people need to be silent about being gay. I'm simply saying that if we're going to say that men and women need to be separated in showers, then we need to think about the logic we're using for that and apply it across the board. But again, this would all be solved by individual shower stalls, which I don't understand why they aren't there to begin with. Who in the hell honestly wants to use a community shower? There is also a big difference between looking and touching. So should men and women in the military all shower together? If the answer to your question is "no," then your point is invalid.

That other guy is making it seem like that is the reason gay people serve.

lol @ this guy bringing in human rights.
instead of trying to be a modern day mother theresa, youre simply coming off as ignorant. throwing around stuff like "human rights" when they dont apply.
again, according to everything youre saying, men and women should be showering together. they're there to serve, there is no way they would look at each other in a sexual way, right? thats just segregation! didnt we fight for our "human rights" during the 60s to end that type of behavior! lol
according to you, GAY people would NEVER do that ... so why would straight people do it? just throw them all, men and women, into the shower together. its the military for gods sake. they're all too professional for any hanky panky looking!
your agument is beyond ignorant and quite frankly I feel as if my IQ is lowering reading it.

Human rights, civil rights both apply to gay people.
I'd be fine with allowing unisex bathrooms/showers. Of course there are going to be some people who ruin it, but that goes for everything.
According to you, gay people will ALWAYS do it.

please quote me where I said gay people will always do it. otherwise, go find something better to do then argue a point that makes zero sense whatsoever.

You can generalize my statements, but I can't generalize yours. I see how it is.
I didn't say showering is a human/civil right. You are putting words in my mouth. If you actually read my posts, you would see I didn't say that.

It's not necessarily about "going after" someone. But I can guarantee that if there were a bunch of naked chicks in the shower with me, I'd be lookin'. I can't imagine why it'd be any different for gay men looking at men. Explain to me how I'm wrong. Showering with people of the same sex is not a "human rights" issue, man. LoL. I think they'd be more professional. Clean up and get out of there. Why would they travel across the world and put themselves in harms way just to look at someone naked? Doesn't make sense. They are there to do a job not get it on.I'm not saying showering is, I'm saying serving is. We shouldn't force people to serve silently because people are afraid of showering. there you are saying why you think they WOULD NOT do it. youre already wrong. you should have just stopped there. "I fail to understand why someone cannot be for basic human rights." thre you are implying im against human rights for saying they should be seperated in the showers. in essense saying by doing so, their human rights are being violated. im not putting words in your mouth genius. you said it. just stop burrying yourself.

You are twisting my words.
If you saw Kliq's response to my post where he said about showering being a right, I said no, I was talking about serving the country, not showering. But it seems if you had said that, people would realize you are putting words into my mouth.
I did not say they would not do it, I'm stating why should they do it. I never said the words "they won't do it." Try again.
You are bashing me, you should really take a look at what you say.

no one said gay people shouldnt be allowed to serve. you bringing "basic human rights" into the argument truely dumbed it down. because it doesnt apply at all whatsoever to what everyone is discussing. which is openly gay men showering with straight men. it seems like youre simply trying to come off as some crusader.
openly gay men should not be in open showers with straight men. its WRONG. if you think otherwise, youre wrong. go ask the woman serving if they want to shower with the men. they probably dont. are they "wrong" in anyway because of it? no. they deserve to be comfortable as do straight men.
"I did not say they would not do it, I'm stating why should they do it" <<<< another post that really implies youre ignorance to me. and no, im NOT bashing you. you really are coming off as ignorant. look the word up, its not really an insult my friend. why should they do it? um, geez, maybe because its human nature to look at the sex youre sexually attracted to when they are naked.

I'm saying it is a basic human right to serve in the military. You don't want gay people to openly serve.
I don't care if it makes you uncomfortable. They said the same thing when Truman integrated the armed forces. Including they didn't want to sleep in the same place as blacks, blah blah blah. It's all bullshit.
I'm ignorant, because there are gay people who don't want to look at straight people naked? How outlandish. I'm sure there are straight men who could shower with women without looking at them sexually.

Just because something is the way it is, doesn't make it right nor does it make me wrong for challenging it.

maybe youre just someone who really wants to be allowed to shower with females?

How is it right? Do you agree with every law in place?
Showering is not a right.
Why would I want to shower with women? Why would I want to shower with men? I'd prefer the single stall that Kliq is advocating for. But if they have it everyone at the same time, I'd deal with it. If they had, just men or just women. I'd deal with it.

My favorite part of this was when Krayzie said open gays showering with straight guys is wrong, then accused Slappy of throwing around terms. I just wanted to point out a couple of my favorite comments from the gawker video.

I hate the "I'm flattered by gay men checking me out" nonsense.
As a straight person, I'm not flattered by gay men thinking I'm attractive. I don't hate them for it if they DO find me attractive, but I'm just not flattered by it. I don't feel comfortable with them looking at me while I'm naked. Sorry, I just don't.
And yes, I have numerous gay friends. Well, I should say ONE "gay" friend and numerous "bisexual" friends.
Maybe there are some guys who are flattered by it, but I have a feeling that the vast majority of men do not want to be showering with gay men, just the same as women don't want to be showering with men.
We're guys. We're creeps. There's no shame in it (OK maybe there's some shame). But the best solution is to have individual showers for EVERYONE.

I just wanted to point out a couple of my favorite comments from the gawker video. how would you have preffered that I reffer to them as? I call woman, woman ... because they are woman. I call men who are openly gay, openly gay ... because they are openly gay. its not "throwing around a term"
