I posted this in the Japan thread but I’m hoping it’s cool to post here since Jericho just finished one of the best runs of his career in WWE. For those that don’t know, they’ve been “feuding” on Twitter. Most people assumed it was to setup a match for Jericho’s cruise wrestling show next year, but now it’s clear we’re getting something much bigger. Curious to know how people feel about this matchup and if this will make you check out Wrestle Kingdom if you’re not a New Japan fan. I think this is a video game dream match that is becoming reality, really before it’s too late.  |

Wow. I cannot believe that this is going to happen in NJPW. Jerichos's always said he would never wrestle for another promotion besides WWE. I wonder if this will sour his relationship with Vince/HHH and if he will ever return to WWE?
Aside from that, this match is going to be insane. Was hoping for Ibushi/Omega but this will gain some huge worldwide traction for NJPW.

Wow. Good for Jericho. New Japan does feel like the second most popular wrestling league here now. It’s great that he’s giving it an extra push here.
So much opened up in America for New Japan after AJ joined.

I’d like Jericho to stay with NJPW for a little while and have matches with Okada and Tanahashi, too.- Maybe Jay White.

How pissed is Vince right now? Hmm. Tough to say. It seems like Jericho’s had a good relationship with Vince. I expect Jericho back in WWE in the not-too-distant future, but... That’s show business! |

Digressing for a moment, and not to be a downer, but, it doesn’t seem like Kenny’s necessarily going to get the IWGP heavyweight championship. Will he next year?

Digressing for a moment, and not to be a downer, but, it doesn’t seem like Kenny’s necessarily going to get the IWGP heavyweight championship. Will he next year? People are thinking Naito beats Okada at Wk12, Kenny maybe takes it from Naito and they set up Omega/Okada IV at WK13. Or Okada just holds it straight through until wK13 and drops it to Kenny there, because Gedo loves Okada and he'll break all the records. |

Holy crap! People like to throw around the term "dream match" but in this case it actually fits the bill. I'm excited. This is great for NJPW. Should draw some eyes that don't usually watch.
I have to wonder if Jericho isn't "scouting" NJPW talent for the WWE and/or trying to pave the way for an eventual Omega to WWE deal. Vince can't be that stupid that he wouldn't see dollar bills in Omega after the great success the WWE has had with AJ.

Smart move by Jericho. Should be a solid match. To be honest I find that each time Jericho comes back to wwe it's less and less special. Don't get me wrong I like Jericho and he's entertaining as hell. But this will be something different and fresh. Really should be interesting to see him wrestling for a promotion other than wwe. I imagine Vince isn't too happy about this.
