Terrible...terrible finish.
Can’t believe they just fed Kofi to Brock like that. & nobody gives a sh*t about Valasquez. The guy has hardly been an active fighter in the past 4 years and was never a draw.

I really enjoyed SmackDown. My only gripe was Kofi Kingston losing the title to Brock Lesnar. Especially in five seconds. This angle could have been done without Lesnar being champion.
The bell rings, Brock hits the F-5, Rey Mysterio’s music plays before he can go for the pin, Cain Velasquez walks down and enters the ring, they battle it out, and the match is thrown out. Kofi didn’t have to go through that.

All I'm saying is this better end with Rey beating Brock for the title with help from Valasquez and NOT Valasquez beating Brock for the title.

Man, the tweets that WWE superstars are writing about Kofi made me realise that his title reign was one of the best in recent memory ☹️

AEW absolutely swarmed WWE this week. WWE had more than 3x the programming time this week, and promised all brand new stuff. Yet almost every title was on the line and only one changed hands, into the hands of Brock Lesnar, someone pretty much everyone can agree with isn’t new stuff. WWE is about to learn the hard way that they cant air the same old and rebrand it as “all new content”. They have competition now, and they’re gonna see real quick what all new content really is. The bad part is the best thing WWE put on this week went head to head with a new shiny product and people didnt watch. Honestly NXT was MUCH more enjoyable then AEW was but numbers didnt show that. Vince may have thrived on competition at one time but I honestly think hes lost right now. His business decisions have just been so awful. I didn’t watch either show until Thursday morning and if I’m being honest I felt like AEW had a major WCW vibe to it. Which I liked and along with Pac being there will get me to watch it again. With NXT I watched and was mainly hoping Ciampa would return so I was a little disappointed there. But having Balor back on NXT and Ciampa when he finally returns makes NXT must watch for me. But I think AEW “won” the ratings this week mainly because it was “new” and people wanted to see what they bring to the table, but I feel that once the novelty of AEW wears off NXT will reign in the ratings. Now as for SD last night I didn’t watch it yet and wasn’t going to post anything about it until I did. But that was spoiled on the Mattel board by someone saying the WM Kofi figure’s facial expression look like Kofi after losing the title to Brock in 5 seconds but honestly while Kofi’s title reign was “fun” I could never get behind him as a legitimate champion. Because whenever I see him all I can see is a tag team wrestler who for 10 years claim to fame was his Royal Rumble Elimination saves gimmick. I just didn’t see “Top Guy” in his work. So yeah I have no issue with his Championship reign coming to an end in 5 seconds to Brock. But I honestly thought they would have had Rey or the rest of New Day come out and attack Brock to have Kofi keep the belt on a DQ from outside interface. So I am glad that didn’t happen although I personally would have had Kofi drop the belt to Orton last month.

Lmao okay. AEW’s show was god awful. Was the wrestling good? Yes. But so is the wrestling on NXT every week. AEW did nothing to present who anyone is. They did nothing to build new storylines. They worked off storylines they had previously going, which new viewers will know nothing about. At least WWE’s constant recaps & Coles constant re-introducing of superstars came in handy to show new viewers what had been going on and tell who people are. Dynamite was a Glorified PPV. It was not a weekly show that advanced/introduced storylines the typical way. Instead it was matches filled with interferences or post match attacks. I have nothing against AEW, but the one and only reason their ratings were higher was because it was their FIRST EVER SHOW. I bet there are people, like me, who won’t be tuning in next week now that we’ve seen what the product is. WWE promised nothing groundbreaking or new except that it was the season premiere of both shows so I don’t know what you expected. Raw & Smackdown are not against AEW during the week. NXT is, so that’s who needs to up their programing if anything. Finn Balor is on the show now, which will draw in a lot more viewers for the coming weeks. I’m sure more people will transition over to the show who were underutilized on the main roster as well.

I think we all know that Vince and Steph are salivating at the thought of two washed up MMA stars going at it for their top title. Rey is simply an afterthought and was just a tool to get them to this point (just my thoughts based on their long history of crap booking).

Well, if I ever needed justification for why I don't pay attention to anything involving Brock Lesnar, no matter who else is involved, there it is. You would have thought that WWE would really try to make their product good, now with AEW stealing fan attention, and obviously wanting to keep their FOX deal. But instead they pull the same old crap. Literally no fan wants Brock Lesnar as champion. Shows just how out of touch Vince McMahon is with his fanbase. And to treat Kofi like that is an absolute joke. I've not been the biggest fan of Kofi as a World Champion (would have been great in 2010, but try as I might, I just can't see him as a singles star in 2019). But even I can recognise what an absolute pile of piss it was to job him out in a single move. Shame on WWE!
Becky/Rock's verbal and physical beatdown on Corbin was fantastic, The Four Horsewomen tag match, the Seth/Fiend segments, and KO winning the ladder match to fire Shane was all really good stuff; those are the clips I watched.
I really really like the new stage though. Looks fantastic. They've finally fixed all their presentation issues this week (well, almost, still don't like that new RAW stage).

I wonder if WWE will let Cain wrestle in his AAA mask?
For those that have not seen Cain wrestle, here is a little of this work. He needs to spend some time in PC.

With Brock, Cain and Ronda I’m glad to see WWE just admit they can’t create stars and hire old UFC stars instead. It's time for you WWE diehards to admit is to.

Things I liked about the show- Rock/Lynch/Corbin segement, Horsewomen tag match, Kofi losing the tite, the ending with Cain, and the Tyson Fury segment.
What I didn't like- Ladder match, Rollins vs Nakamura, the lumberjack match, and the 8 man tag(such a throwaway).

Well it was nice being able to discuss SD without people bringing up AEW. Did you really expect any different? It's the biggest week in wrestling in a loooong time and every show was constantly compared to the other shows. It'll die down.
