Mega-Powers vs Mega-BucksThe seeds were planted for this feud on SNME prior to Mania IV with Ted/Andre attacking Mach but the wheels would officially get going at the PPV when in the finals of the WWF Title tourney, Randy Savage would defeat Ted DiBiase with Hogan helping out in taking care of Andre.Following this the Hulkster would disappear from TV to film No Holds Barred with Mach defending his title on the house shows against his new foe in Dibiase who was hell bent on getting the belt he's been after since since late 87 But soon The Champ would be outnumbered as he was targeted by both Ted and Andre with them attacking him on an episode of Superstars as Virgil held Liz and made her look at the beating. Good heat here. It was then when Mach would need some help in this situation and it wouldnt take long for him to find the man for the job... And with that we were set for a big tag showdown at the first SSlam at MSG.Right before the event however a wild card was thrown in as it would be announced Jesse Ventura would be the guest ref in the bout. Its his rules or the highway! I like how they teased him being bought by the heels in the final build. The match itself at the event was fine for what is was with a hot crowd and a moment with Liz that will never be forgotten! Overall...Fun feud here and another great chapter in the Mega/Powers story.Jesse being added in was a nice treat. Man I love this era. Thumbs up

Great feud. They probably could have stretched it out a little longer, maybe had a Mega Powers vs Mega Bucks survivor series match up to be the blow-off. The Summer Slam match was fun. Loved the Liz moment... And Savage having to force Jesse to count the final three was great too.

Its crazy looking back, this was the last televised match between Hogan and Andre Yeah, but that was the great thing about the WWF at that time, once the feud ran its course the two guys (or teams) never wrestled again. This way things didn't get stale. When Savage and Hogan fought on The Main Event in February of 1990, that was their last televised WWF match. We didn't see them wrestle one another again until Halloween Havoc in 1996. Doing things that way seemed to keep things fresh and exciting.

Demolition vs Powers of PainWhen the Powers of Pain joined the WWF during the Summer of 88, it was inevitable these two teams would collide. The first big showdown would come at SSeries that year in the classic tag team elimination match which saw (the confusing) double turn of both teams when Mr. Fuji would turn on Demo to join the POP.To say the crowd there in Ohio was puzzled would be an understatement. The feud would be fully in motion now with the new heels chasing the champs on the house show circuit. The next TV showdown would happen on PTW that February with POP getting DQed after the devious one Fuji would throw salt in the eyes of Ax.Demo was now hell bent on revenge on not only POP but Fuj the stooge as well. The end of the feud would come at WM V that April in a handicap match in which Demo would retain after the salt stunt would backfire on Fuji this time with him taking the decapitation. They would still face off a few more times at SSeries that year as part of the Hulkamaniacs and $ Team respectively and for the final time on WWF TV on Superstars in February 1990 The feud would be reignited years later on the indy scene. They would even face off at the ECW Arena! Overall...confusing double turn aside, I enjoyed this feud.None of the matches were anything to write home about but they didnt need to be as it was just 4 big dudes beating the tar outta each other.

Ted DiBiase vs VirgilFor nearly 4 years Virgil would be the bodyguard for the Million Dollar Man.He did everything like carry his bags, pick lint from his toes and even horse crap from his boots!but that would all change at the Rumble in 91. After they defeated the team of Dusty and Dustin Rhodes, DiBiase would order Virgil to pick up the $ belt and put it around his waist. In the end the gold and diamonds didnt go around his waist but it went upside his head instead. Great face turn heel and one helluva pop. www.wwe.com/videos/the-million-dollar-man-and-virgil-post-match-confrontation-royal-rumble-1991Following this Virgil would be on his own and the feud was set in motion.Along the way Roddy Piper would mentor the former bodyguard on his skills. The big showdown would happen at WM VII in which Virgil would get the win by count out but would take a beating post match along with Hot Rod at the hands of both DiBiase and his new valet Sensational Sherri. Nice little twist to the story here.During the Spring months the feud would briefly transition over to Dibiase and Piper with the two facing off on house shows. The feud would heat back up during the summer with Virgil challenging the money man for his Million Dollar belt for SSlam with him accepting. Virgil would go on and defeat his former employer at MSG to win the gold and diamonds. No doubt Virgil's best match of his career and just an overall great feel good moment. Piper selling the whole thing on commentary is the cherry on top. The reign would be short lived however with him losing it back to Dibiase on the SSeries Showdown thanks to the Repo Man. The feud would end here but they would still interact at this Tuesday in TX and on future shows like Prime Time and Superstars again in tag matches.I like how at Rumble 94 when Virgil comes out Dibiase is like''Where did he come from?!'' Overall... Fun feud here with great storytelling.Virgil turning face is still a classic moment from this era.And we cant forget about Piper who really did a great job in helping this feud progress. Good stuff.
Discuss!!!
