I agree with the majority of what you said, but what storylines do you think are lacking cohesion? That's not meant to sound jerk ish I'm actually interested to know. To begin, not every angle is touched upon every week, which is possible. ECW did a fine job of it for many years, producing video packages of a few minutes, highlighting angles with interviews from the talent. We should be hearing from everyone, every week, for the most part. What's Vicki doing for Nyla? How does SCU feel about Sky's loss? Those types of promos. I was a kid during that time, but it really helped me stay informed of everything, as sadly, ECW was my life into early adolescence, despite having to trade tapes across the country, as we didn't get ECW HCTV.
There are also a lot of thrown-together and dropped storylines, or some that resume out-of nowhere. The best examples I can think of over the long-term are Penta/Daniels, and Brandi/everybody and everything. In the more recent times, Matt Hardy/Private Party, Moxley/Cage, Best Friends' title shot being postponed for no reason, FTR not hosting last week, Cody and Kenny working face and heel during different matches, and within different matches. There is much more, too, but I'm drawing a blank at the moment.
As important as anything, to me, though, as a fan, is being able to see the NEW talent I learned about from AEW. The roster is too thin to have so much talent, especially replacing them with known-names.
Overall, I still enjoy AEW, and look forward to Dynamite every week. I just feel they were really strong from Late-January through Revolution, and then were building toward some big things before the pandemic. That said, without an audience, it's probably hard to gauge what is working at the moment.
ROH used to go through times where someone would club someone over the head one week and it was three weeks before anything else happened with the angle. Eventually they got back to the story, but sometimes you wondered. I know they only have an hour a week, but if you are going to start something, at least show a replay and indicate that one is recovering from the injuries received or something to progress it.
