It's just odd, with a couple guys in a promotion with a much larger footprint having things alleged as well, one winning his debut on basic cable. The feeling I almost get from this announcement, and this is just my opinion and speculation, I get the sense that AEW was aware of his issues beforehand and didn't really do anything about it until now.
Keep in mind, he started a drunken fight with Excalibur last November.

Never really liked the guy so I'm not bothered by this. I did somewhat like his team with Sabian but he won't be missed by me, especially since he seems to be a scumbag

I haven't read into the allegations against him, but I find AEW's approach to not firing the guy and helping with rehab an interesting move. Did he do something that broke the law?

We are not going to deal with speculation and allegations along the lines of battering and physical abuse that could be later rescinded as was the case with Enzo.
Facts are fine, speculation is not in these areas. He is suspended for substance abuse. If he gets convicted of something, then we will determine if the topic is fit for all ages of members.

There are other people who are being called out in AEW, but Jimmy is the only one who the company has commented on. I promise I'm not trying to start sh*t on here, it just feels like a defining moment (PR and ethically) for AEW. |

Speculation about other issues he has concerning other aspects of his life are not. He is suspended which is factual. Just as a note, someone (not here) claimed this was the case in Florida law and I'm not sure about the exact laws in Florida, but if Jimmy voluntarily enteted himself into rehab aew may actually be legally unable to make any decisions regarding his employment until he has completed rehab.

My favorite part about this place is the "there's not enough threads" posts and then the immediate knee jerk reaction of deleting said NEW thread that are actually worth discussing in favor of a "who do you think will main event WM 6 years from now" thread. Locking the threads isnt the answer. The answer is actually banning the ppl who come into threads only to start problems. It's not like this is a new issue either. It's usually the same few ppl getting things locked. |

I get their side as well. It's probably easier to just lock threads instead of repeatedly cleaning them up but we also lose a lot of worthy convos in the midst of the obvious trolling. For instance, earlier we had a guy who will remain nameless say that he doesn't believe any victims and he doesn't like the #MeToo movement and now the #SpeakingOut movement bc whatever bs reason. Okay. You don't have to like these things or agree with them but to come into a thread and be discourteous for the sake of a negative reaction sounds pitiful. Like really pitiful. |
