Good on Sammy and exactly as I suspected regarding the situation.

Good on Sammy for owning up to his mistakes and not trying to pass himself off as a victim like some other people would do in his situation. He knows how wrong he was to say the things he said, and now it's on him going forward to show that he's grown from it.

They'd be insane to fire Sammy now. Honestly that probably would get me to stop watching for a while, and I can't believe I'm saying that because I freaking love AEW. I can't really see it happening, but the tweet was definitely worded like it was a possibility. I imagine it's just the anxiety disorder speaking up and making me worry about that though.
That said, assume they don't lose their minds and we see him again, likely around All-Out (would make a lot of sense to make his comeback for that show) they have a good angle they could run with. Jericho refuses to acknowledge why Sammy's gone, thinks Sammy ghosted and replaces him (Kip maybe? He'll need something to do with Jimmy gone, and Kip could benefit a lot from Jericho). Sammy comes back and does a huge face turn after being betrayed by the Inner Circle. His vlogs already were getting super popular, and combining that with his apology and showing growth, he's tailor made for a huge face turn. I dunno, I guess running an angle out of this could piss some people off, but I'd be game for it. Sammy is one of the biggest up and coming stars they have, and this could be a great moment to give him a huge face push.

^ no clue what that would do to the #CancelCulture people, or how they'd take it.
It's a great idea though.

Yeah I dunno if they could get away with it in 2020, but the angle writes itself. There's actually some history to have Kip be the guy to take his spot too. Kip beat Sammy in the first ever singles match in AEW at DoN 2019.

Mad some people are using his age at the time as a defence, I’m 22 and I’ve never claimed to want to rape anyone..

What was Sammy Guevara accused of? if you've kept up with this thread you wouldn't need to ask of such. i'm not here to argue with you, but rather state the obvious to your unnecessary question. us being familiar with comedy roasts has nothing to do with a male professional wrestler stating that they would rape a female professional wrestler, regardless of whether or not it was meant in a joking matter. good day. The question was rhetorical actually. Let’s not kid ourselves though, you already knew that. He said something you’d hear in a comedy roast, thus I made the connection. Not difficult to compute. You’re the one that tried to imply Sammy was guilty of something else.......... Which he wasn’t. Which makes your initial reply to me quite pointless and baseless.

To do so is the old "boys will be boys" horse sh*t. What he said wasn't funny. Anyone who thinks it is gross. He's not a standup trying to push the envelope or something. What he said was disgusting. I don't think it should lead to him being fired since that was before his current gig, but what he said shouldn't be excused.

Kind of off-topic but is anyone else shocked that AJ Styles has never come under fire for his liberal use of the "f" word back in the day?

Man that is probably one of the worst habits I had when I was younger. Saying that word when I was talking crap to my friends or whatever. I think it goes hand in hand with calling things gay that are lame instead of happy or whatever definition you decide to use. Everyone has to look inward to become better and really take a good luck at the way they are living. You don't get there by not examining your own weaknesses and strengths. Side note: I thought more would come from Punks comments about Styles and the movement going on at the time but it never did. Also off topic, Jimmy Fallon looks to be finished from past comments as well. Gotta be better gotta do better but also gotta have the chance to show you've changed. It's a double edged sword bc you can't expect someone to do better and be better when constantly bringing up their past discrepancies. There's a line and it hasn't been found yet that's all.

You do realize that there are female comedians that make the same jokes about men right? If that kind of "material" bothers you so much I would suggest that you watching or buying ANY form of WWE is highly hypocritical. Hilariously, embarrassingly hypocritical in fact. Vince McMahon has demonstrated similar forms of "disgusting" in the name of outrageous/shocking entertainment (including the rape of a corpse). If what Sammy said as a joke bothers you so much, how do you feel about yourself funding and enabling Vince McMahon after the COUNTLESS INSTANCES he put forth?
