And that's why threads get locked. Yes, the behavior that gets threads locked is present here.

It's not an excuse. To do so is the old "boys will be boys" horse sh*t. What he said wasn't funny. Anyone who thinks it is gross. He's not a standup trying to push the envelope or something. What he said was disgusting. I don't think it should lead to him being fired since that was before his current gig, but what he said shouldn't be excused. You do realize that there are female comedians that make the same jokes about men right? If that kind of "material" bothers you so much I would suggest that you watching or buying ANY form of WWE is highly hypocritical. Hilariously, embarrassingly hypocritical in fact. Vince McMahon has demonstrated similar forms of "disgusting" in the name of outrageous/shocking entertainment (including the rape of a corpse). If what Sammy said as a joke bothers you so much, how do you feel about yourself funding and enabling Vince McMahon after the COUNTLESS INSTANCES he put forth? Sammy’s not a comedian. You’re being willfully obtuse. I don’t financially support WWE so your dunk fell pretty short. This is an AEW thread. I’m for freedom of speech, but there can be consequences to that speech. Show your ass here all you want, I guess...

there isn’t really a need for an argument here. BWO and others can find the jokes acceptable in some contexts, others can find it heinous and not acceptable. either way, Sammy saying it on a podcast was a bad move and one that he needed to apologize for and did.
the rest is just opinion.

You mean like someone quoting someone else and interjecting their point while making accusations, and then when those accusations are responded to they try to ruin a thread and get it locked? If So, I agree.

Yes, the behavior that gets threads locked is present here. to quote conrad, "i love you for that." I responded to you quoting me, and you said you were done talking........ Except here you are continuing the conversation through someone else. And again without a retort to the point I made after you quoted me. Interesting.

Show your ass here all you want, I guess... 1. You don't have to be a comedian to tell jokes. 2. It's more like a 3 pointer. You obviously agree with me about Vince and the filth he has pushed as "entertainment.". rkmo is always in the Monday Night Raw threads. If ME supporting Sammy for saying 1 thing means I'm obtuse, how would you describe HIM for helping Vince earn those billion dollar TV deals by helping his ratings? Care to comment? 3. You agree with freedom of speech, unless you disagree with it. Then you just call people names. 4. And that's why threads get locked.

Good on Sammy for owning up to his mistakes and not trying to pass himself off as a victim like some other people would do in his situation. He knows how wrong he was to say the things he said, and now it's on him going forward to show that he's grown from it. You saw that video too right? 2020 Sammy is not 2016 Sammy, he says he's grown in the last 4 years. NOW it's on him going forward to show that he's grown? Really? The last 4 years hasn't shown a single thing? I get that what he said 4 years ago wasn't appropriate then and isn't appropriate now, but some of you (and I'm not singling out you specifically) act like you never done dumb sH*t when you were younger. Not one of us can say we haven't ever used hurtful language in our past, to parents, bullies, ex's, friends, siblings, strangers in a fit of road rage, you name it. Problem with today's millennials and gen z's is that they document EVERYTHING, so it's going to come back and bite them on the ass. But I'll give Sammy the benefit of the doubt that he's grown up in the last 4 years because he's owned up to this like a man and is taking the right steps to secure his future in the business. I'm sure he didn't sit on this one podcast for 4 years trying to hide it, it was a dumb thing he said and probably forgot about until some idiot dug it up out of shear malice. He apologized to Sasha and she's accepted his apology. He's got nothing to prove to me personally moving forward.

The guys who got physical deserve more attention and punishment.

Bandalero You hit the head on a very big part of this. I'm right in the middle of the millennial demographic (born '88) and it's been an interesting problem to watch evolve. Most people around my age, we didn't document everything. We were still learning what the internet was. We were warned by our parents, teachers, etc, that what we put out there was permanent. The problem was, it wasn't really. At that time. People could have screen capped, etc, but that didn't really happen back then. Sometimes people would save ICQ logs or Messenger logs, but even then, it wasn't really all that common. Social Media was the big game changer. Once you started having your actual identity directly connected through facebook, twitter, etc, everything changed. Sammy has already made amends in my book. Even the suspension is still far too much to me. I don't really know what "sensitivity" training is supposed to be, but training in managing his social media and being careful online now that he's a huge star would be something he (and all the other young stars) should be getting anyways, even if he hadn't gotten caught. Man if I compare 22 year old me to 26 year old me, those are a significant 4 years for sure. At the end of the day, it's glass houses, throwing stones and all that jazz. It's not defending a dumb joke, or saying boys will be boys. He got caught, he got punished, he apologized, likely got his head torn off by Sasha, and probably feels pretty bad about it. He'll learn, grow, and this is hardly the end of the world its being made out to be in some areas. I don't think it's like saying boys will be boys to be understanding that with youth comes stupidity. Shock humor is lame and stupid, and I've never really found it funny (more because it's just not that clever, not that I'm all that offended by it), but it's hardly the equivalent of an actual crime. Maybe it's the fact that I've spent a bunch of time working with underpriviledged and marginalized youth, but I'm pretty used to giving people the benefit of the doubt and allowing them to grow, rather than resorting to punishment, shame, and vilifying.

Just saw on the squared circle Reddit that a video got released by the guy who was hosting the show Sammy was on. Guy was pissed at Sammy for ghosting him and is taking credit for releasing the clip himself.

Who's the real scumbag here?

Who's the real scumbag here? Yup. I mean he could be lying but he was really happy and eager to take credit for it. I don't know that anyone who dug this up would have been supporting the speaking up movement, even if it wasn't him. All it did was take focus off of actual victims. The women who have been really "in charge" of the movement and are working with UK police have had to basically beg the internet to stop with this stuff because it's discrediting what they're working towards and the amount of bs burner accounts and fake accusations on the accounts and fake stories are destroying their credibility.
