So mattels the only one raising prices? No, I've seen marvel legends go up, gas prices, food prices, Deal With it!! Everything is about to go up like crazy.

I’ve seen a fair few Hasbro products and I’ve no idea why people would want them to take over the WWE line, I don’t think they’re good at all. Mattel has some misses, absolutely but overall they pump out far superior figures IMO.
As for legends, it’s dictated by WWE/Vince, that’s not Mattel’s fault and whoever had the licence would face the same issue. I just hope WWE flexes to allow Mattel to sign more up.

It wouldn't matter to me who got the license because I wouldn't have to necessarily start over considering I only buy one of each person for the most part. I'm happy with the job Mattel is doing overall but if it was a different company I might be able to get a new version of something I missed out on like DM Bret. So you buy 3 figures a year? Cool Considering I started collecting a few years ago it's more than that. Catching up on Legends I missed and still plenty of first time figures for current roster.

Not sure how to feel about this. Mattel has really gotten lazy with the WWE figures from their distribution (even BEFORE Covid), their design, and which wrestlers they choose to make. Kinda wish someone else got the WWE contract. If people had an issue with Mattel's quality control and laziness before..

I love how people are acting like if someone else got the line we would magically get guys like Hercules or Scott Steiner. The same legends would get figures, just in different designs.

Some of you guys are weird. How many people grew up through the 90’s and early 00’s? If you had, you’d never say Hasbro or Mattel’s products were garbage. There’s always room for improvement across the board, but the output from the major players right now might as well be fine art compared to days of the past.

Well, as far as Legends go, when Mattel took over, that is when we first got Ricky Steamboat and then Randy Savage. So there is precedent, but it was different times of course. That said, IF someone else had taken over, and assuming they were in scale to current Mattel figs, I would not start all over, but I would certainly pick and choose who I get. Even more so now that prices are going up. Even the 2 dollar bump on Elites is causing me to rethink things now.

No problem with Mattel getting to continue having the license. Would love to see what McFarlane would do with the license.

McFarlane absolutely does not produce stuff with the speed, reuse, and quantity required for a WWE line and I don't know that they'd ever want to. I'd love to see what they could do with one-offs of really dynamic, theatrical-looking wrestlers, though. McFarlane figures of Warrior or Asuka or Muta would be incredible.

Mattel has problem's, but so does every other toy company ever, giving it to Hasbro wouldn't automatically fix every problem, it wouldn't fix the distribution, it wouldn't fix the prices, you won't instantly get guys like Scott Steiner, Haku, Mr Fuji etc
I'm not saying Mattel is perfect, they have a lot of problems, but that wouldn't change if it was given to Hasbro, McFarlane, NECA or whatever toy company people want

Mattel will have very little “push” it’s not how licensor agreements work Mattel pays WWE millions of dollars a year for the license to use WWE’s property. Mattel then makes action figures to sell to the public to make money. If Mattel continues to make the same legends action figures over and over because WWE will only sign 20 guys to legends deals then collectors are going to quit buying. We have already had 5 X-PAC elites and are fixing to have our 6th. Mattel 100% should bring this issue up to WWE “Hey WWE, we’re going to give you millions of dollars for the rights to make WWE toys - but only if we can sign Ted Arcidi, Ivan Koloff and Paul Roma to our own deals because three guys on a forum want them, therefore they are going to sell way more units than a new Ultimate Warrior/Hulk Hogan/Undertaker/Macho Man/Rock/Stone Cold/Triple H/John Cena figure!” “They are?” “Yes, definitely.” “Can I see your credentials? Do you really work for Mattel? You sound like an idiot who has no business sense whatsoever. Where’s your ID?” “Umm umm yeah I do I promise but oh I have to leave right now, I just got a call from my mom my dad was in a car accident and my dog is sick and my sister is having a baby and my tendies are almost ready.”

Spoiler alert: this entire time, at least one of us has been the real Paul Roma asking Mattel for Paul Roma action figures.

This couldn’t be any farther from the truth in 2009 when they first reached a deal Raw was averaging roughly 5 million viewers a week, Smackdown (on cable) 3.5 million, ECW (on syfy) 1.5 million. Going back to 2019 to get a decent pre-pandemic number Raw roughly 2.5 million, 2.2 SD (on network TV), NXT (on USA) 800,000. ECW on syfy at times was getting better numbers than SD on Fox. *was only on Fox since Oct so taking that into consideration and removing the episodes airing on FS1 and the premiere that skewed higher than normal it averaged maybe around 2.5 million. It’s not 1998 anymore😂. Kids aren’t watching linear cable TV shows from 8-11pm in 2021. That’s a boomer activity, and boomers are somehow not the target audience for toy aisles. Kids get into wrestling via memes, YouTube and social media clips, not by watching USA Network at 10.30pm on a Monday night.

That has lots of people constantly coming in and out, my kids want to watch that or a mix of entrances and highlights, they don’t sitting through a full 3 hour show. To be honest I very rarely watch ‘live’ tv. I’ll watch it on catch up or record it and watch it sometimes days or even weeks / months later or highlights / shows on YouTube. Tv is now on our schedule not the networks and it’s also a ross various mediums

A Yokozuna with Mr. Fuji elite 2 pack….Yep nobody wants that. Gangrel nope not him either Giant Gonzalez, Mountie, Adam Bomb, Baston Booger, Luna Vachon, Val Venis, Godwins, Sunny, Kona Crush, Evil Crush, Dink…I could go on. But if your Happy with 6 xpacs and 100 triple H’s then that’s all that matters.

Yeah, country music has passed Jeff by. The big arena spectacle, Garth Brooks era is over. It's all bro country now.
