Just coming to post the same thing, as someone who just started over, I’m pleased to say the least lol

Glad to see this. My wallet was probably hoping for a new company to come in (because it would probably put me on pause for a while, at least), but I'm a fan of consistency, and I like collecting, so I wasn't exactly looking to stop on account of some big switch in approaches like I did when Hasbro took over ML.
So much for "when Mattel loses the license" LOL

I hope in this new contract Mattel pushed for WWE to do whatever it takes to get the rights to make more classic figures. Honestly the Legends line is becoming very stale.

Any word on how long the extension is for?

I just hope Mattel gets access to new contracts and can at least become a little more transparent with us. In a sense, this is good for me because I already cherry pick the line. I get to save money and utilize the time elsewhere.

Good. Mattel is far from perfect, but the stylistic consistency of the line is something I appreciate.

Any word on how long the extension is for? Until the UFC license is up for grabs. Then mattel will dump WWE like yesterday's garbage.

Mattel will have very little “push” it’s not how licensor agreements work Mattel pays WWE millions of dollars a year for the license to use WWE’s property. Mattel then makes action figures to sell to the public to make money. If Mattel continues to make the same legends action figures over and over because WWE will only sign 20 guys to legends deals then collectors are going to quit buying. We have already had 5 X-PAC elites and are fixing to have our 6th. Mattel 100% should bring this issue up to WWE

This is for the best. There’s basically no way anyone else could come close to building the catelogue of different wrestlers and attires mattel has over the past decade.

This is a good thing. For consistency's sake, for quantity's sake (Mattel puts out a TON of product; I know there are concerns about the variety of available Legends but that's a very specific component of a very wide line) and in most cases for quality's sake. In particular, I think Mattel WWE's got the best face scanning of any mass market figure line, and good face sculpts are always a priority for me.

I would have stopped collecting if another company got it because I was not going to start over.

That drives live merch and all other revenue streams Legends figures are a niche of a niche of a niche of a niche. They are a small component of wrestling figures, which are a small component of action figures, with are a component of the larger toy market battling against construction toys, role play toys, video game / electronic toys

Awesome news! Mattel has done a great job this far and expect them to continue doing great work.
Like others have said, as someone who’s gone through Jakks TTL, R-3, RA, DA, Mattel Basics and now Elite collections I was not going to restart my collection again this late in the game.

There are a lot of famous stories about Jim Davis personally inspecting every piece of Garfield merchandise being made to ensure everything was scrupulously on-model. WWE's gonna want stuff that aligns with whatever their product goals are. Awesome news! Mattel has done a great job this far and expect them to continue doing great work. Yeah, I don't think I've bought a DC comic figure since Mattel lost the license and McFarlane picked it up with a new scale. I'll probably hit up that new Swamp Thing, because he's one of my favorites and monsters are adaptable, but I just don't have an interest in building a new collection. With WWE I probably would, and I'd hate having to do it.

Good - I'm not sure I would keep collecting with a change, particularly if the new manufacturer did not keep them in scale with Mattel
