They've already started to go up in one major UK retailer, now £25, so around $32. With the quality getting worse with some figures then this could mean I become very selective with what I buy.

We (UK) already pay £19.99 - approx. $26.60 USD... They've already started to go up in one major UK retailer, now £25, so around $32. With the quality getting worse with some figures then this could mean I become very selective with what I buy. Yeah, that's crazy. I think it's only Smyths though with the PPV Elites... the standard Elites are still £19.99. We need to not buy them at £24.99, or this will soon become the norm... the PPV Elites are nearly always reduced anyway (...Dakota and Yoko are already down to £19.99).

There's a certain saturation point where I just lose interest. And $25 might just be it. I collect a pretty wide range - legends, NXT, and some current roster guys. But at this point I have a figure of just about everybody I want on the main roster, I have zero interest in buying NXT 2.0 figures, and almost every legend we get is a repaint. At $20, or even $22, I'll make some stretch purchases and buy a figure I don't love on a whim.
That isn't going to happen at $25, even if I can afford the price hike. I was a pretty active Marvel Legends collector, but haven't bought a single figure that wasn't on clearance since the raised the price. The value just isn't there for me.
I think Mattel is really overestimating their market. They're focused on short term margins, potentially at the expense of losing a good chunk of overall volume. If hardcore collectors are rethinking, I'd imagine the casual mom buying for her kid is going to have the same reaction.

whoever is in charge of ing over all of us by raising prices on "materials" for no reason, can seriously get ed. this sh*t makes no sense. why are they doing this? oh that's right, to make up for lost profits during a global pandemic? or is it because china decided they can double the cost of goods and we'll still bend over to pay for it? or is it the classic "well, everyone is making more money now so....inflation"? maybe its "because stuff is sitting in containers in the pacific ocean"? or how about "well everyone got a bunch of free money over 2 years ago sooooo....."? oh, now its "well, Russia invaded Ukraine so...better raise those fuel prices!" funny how I haven't seen or heard anything about those massive west coast port supply chain/container issues in months. plenty of people are working. this whole thing is a ing joke. this country is a joke, this economy is a joke. and there's nothing any of us can do about it except stop buying stuff...which is never going to happen because all these toy/collectible companies already have us addicted and most people will never be able to break it.

At 25 I’m pretty much done
Since they went up to 22, I’ve only grabbed one elite in store
22 ended the impulse buys, 25 boutta end collecting for me

Start learning to live on bread and water. A lot of people are going to be very broke soon. I’ve been following up on a lot of this as well. Apparently, canned goods are going to be very valuable. Scary times we’re living in. Anyways, I paid $24 and some change yesterday for my RVD elite yesterday. I think at this stage I’m almost done collecting. It’s just too much and for $6 more you get an ultimate edition.

Price increase is happening on everything, some stuff is jumping up way high a gallon of oil was 6.00 on low, 8.00 high, now depending on store it's about 12.00 to 13.00. 50% increase. Chicken is 3.49 a lb from 1.99 a lb. They claim there's a shortage on every single thing. I've been super selective on what I get, Elites it has to be first time in the line, or legends that are significantly different. I've passed on a bunch of stuff already got a basic Damien Priest for 10.00, no need to spend close to 25.00 on an elite even though it's better than the basic, but I don't care about him that much to need an elite in the collection.

I’m a grocery manager and we have raised the prices on every single thing. The reasoning whether you believe it or not, is that every single company basically is short staffed and don’t have enough people to keep up supply. So they have created an artificial demand. When something is harder to come by then it is worth more. I don’t know if I believe this is the case on every single item, just seems ludicrous. I believe it with cars, houses, seafood, etc but other things are def companies seeing the climate and seeing they have an excuse to raise prices and make more in profits.

Between these and Lightning Collection hitting 25 bucks I find it harder and harder to justify buying figures any more.

In Canada, Elites launched back in 2010 at $22.99, and currently are $29.99. I expect them to go up a few more dollars this summer.
Power Rangers Lightning Collection figures just went up in price recently from $29.99 to $32.99, so maybe that's where Elites will end up here as well.
Everyone is being affected by the pandemic and this Russia/Ukraine conflict.

yea im not sure i can justify paying 27$ and change including taxes. thats the stopping point for me. there sales numbers are most likely about to take huge dive if they havent already at 21.99. and if UE goes up to 35.99 or more, forget it.
