So who LOVES horror movies? The discussion to be had here is...I LOVE horror but I think 95% of it is terrible/only in 'guilty pleasure' territory. It's only once in a great while I see a horror movie that is 'good' and even then once in a blue moon I see one that is actually truly scary for me. Anybody else feel like this? If not, why? I can count the number of actually "scary" or "horrific" horror movies I've seen on two hands. I agree with you. Sometimes I can be in the mood for the classics, but most of the time I want a challenge. And those movies are few and far between. Don't get me started on the endless list of B, C, and Z horror movies on Netflix and Hulu. They're a waste of time and energy. I love horror movies too, but even some of the good ones aren't really scary. They're more "dark" and "atmospheric." It Follows and The Witch come to mind. I loved both, but was never scared while watching either of them. You can enjoy the camp and gore in some movies, but if you really want HORROR, I've learned you have to search it out. No doubt. I made the mistake of watching 'We Are Still Here' because of someone's 'Rotten Tomatoes' recommendation and I was baffled. The things people consider 'good' sometimes really make me wonder if I have something wrong with me. It Follows is one of the closest I've come to getting there, thought that was great. I haven't seen The Witch as I missed it in the theater and am still kind of sour about that, but I'll check it out soon.

ELITE NEW JACK WITH TABLE AND STAPLE GUN!!!! RSCTom considering we're on good terms since I agreed not to ban you for comparing my education struggles to John Cena, think you can make this happen as repayment? I don't really understand how everyone can have an opinion on whether or not Bryan can or can't wrestle again when nothing has been made public about his health other than his saying multiple doctors have cleared him to wrestle, and WWE's doctors haven't (likely the same ones that can't correctly diagnose staph infections?).
Being on the safe side is important for everyone but the dude very likely isn't making it up when he says he's in the best shape of his life. I can't imagine how difficult it is for him to feel that way, especially with being as good as his is and better than so many others, and have to sit there week to week and watch. He has a fan for life in me as he always has and I'd be happy to watch him wrestle on the moon, much less anywhere else. Truly one of the greatest ever.

So for those of you starting up classes, like me, best of luck and pray you don't wind up in the predicament I'm in. I was so excited for this semester. Basically, PhD students don't have classes per se, but we occasionally have lecture courses we have to take in addition to our research. And I'm nearing the end of my dissertation and hoping it'll be heard by the committee despite the hard work. So far, it's been challenging but it's been a freaking blast. Till today. Here is my workload for the lectures I have to attend this semester; three assigned books of over 1k total pages to be read in full, three corresponding papers and three analysis assessments. Not bad, right? They're due Thursday. And this will be the case with new books every Thursday until December. And that's just one of the lectures. As for the other... Two 500 page plus books, to be read in full, and two 20 page .5 font analysis essays due Sunday. New books. Every Sunday. This is going to be every week until the middle of December. Each is daunting alone, but the requirement together will kill me. I've been in school, grad school, beyond, forever and NEVER encountered something of this magnitude. This is the first time I've legitimately pondered giving up. Every student, from grade school to PhD studies encounters things that make them question their own existence and desire to move forward. I've encountered mine. Good luck to the rest of you, best wishes from your soon to be late admin. ![](http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20160829/d95dc8141b0113ee311e3a4074985511.gif) ![https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-k9IOXXWXUDI/V7wfEUWNEdI/AAAAAAAAHhI/tjjFLT5SNCQvHL4enhdybUCAJqbM6cWQwCLcB/s1600/Never%2BGive%2BUp%2BArmband.jpg](https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-k9IOXXWXUDI/V7wfEUWNEdI/AAAAAAAAHhI/tjjFLT5SNCQvHL4enhdybUCAJqbM6cWQwCLcB/s1600/Never%2BGive%2BUp%2BArmband.jpg)

Dude no way is that the worst set ever. Over distributed? Sure. But no means is that the worst set ever. Bulldog alone makes it a great wave. 2 figures from the wave are stellar. Bulldog & Godfather. Sting is pretty good, but the molded on t-shirt is a turn-off for those who want a ring gear current sting. The rest of the set is meh and forgettable. Don't you mean 'eh' and forgettable?

There is more CGI if not just as much in Ep. 7 than any given prequel. I'm not sure where this idea comes from that the prequels weren't 'practical' either. There's all sorts of makeup, costume design, set pieces, miniatures...I've never understood this argument. Does it look fantastical at times? Yup, it takes place in outer space. Love the prequels, love the originals, think there is terrible acting in both and also don't think it matters, really. That having been said, I thought Daisy Ridley was great in a movie that I unfortunately didn't love. The imagination is missing for most of it in trying to placate to too many opinions. It lacks the risks taken on creativity that all 6 other films had which means George Lucas was clearly missing. Ridley's a bright spot for sure. So much magic in the moment she pours water on to her green bread and it 'fluffs' up. These moments are featured throughout Star Wars and are what make it great, but I felt like this one was mostly missing them or just referencing ones from the past. Too many cooks in that kitchen. There is a lot of CGI in Episode 7, but it blends much, much better than the Prequels did. The Phantom Menace hadn't yet been swallowed completely by CGI, but AOTC and ROTS both were. I think a lot of Episode 7's issues were the fact that it was a literal retread of Episode 4, which I feel they did on purpose to reestablish the baseline of Star Wars after the prequels. I fully expect Episode 8 to bust out and be its own thing. I guess it just never felt that way to me. I get characters like Ep 1 Jar Jar, Boss Nass, Dex, etc are just so fantastical it's hard at first (by Episode 3 this is all worked out...you can't go wrong with the light that shines through Yoda's ear), but the sets/locations have never, ever felt anything other than legit. I think the problem now lies in that I don't know that a 'baseline' needed to be re-established but I get what you're saying. I think it's a case of to each their own but I just can't believe that something packaged and sold to me as Star Wars left me underwhelmed like Episode 7 did still. I'm also hoping Episode 8 blows it up, but I think they could do well from taking some prequel cues in imagination and inspiration and not just hanging pod-racing banners in a hallway.

Above post is exactly right. Love the contrast between 4-6 and 1-3. There's a completely obvious reason George chose to do them in the order he did and this explains it. I get it. A lot of it probably has to do with your age, and likely having seen the prequels first. The advanced ships and droids were part of my problem with the prequels because they didn't fit the Star Wars universe. Especially in a time frame set decades before A New Hope. The lightsaber duels were mostly pretty cool I will give you that. The problem is the story that tied everything together was just putrid. All the advanced technology and such in the prequels probably wouldn't have stood out so much if they were more grounded in practical effects. The over reliance on CGI for the prequels made everything look too shiny and new, which contrasts greatly with the look of the OT. So much magic in the moment she pours water on to her green bread and it 'fluffs' up. These moments are featured throughout Star Wars and are what make it great, but I felt like this one was mostly missing them or just referencing ones from the past. Too many cooks in that kitchen. Also, the 1st conversation of Leia and Han after 30 years is awesome. The second conversation they have in the bunker where they're just basically talking about things that happened with Kylo or whatever and dancing around it as to not 'reveal' anything is as wooden, draining and painful as anything anyone could say the prequels are, if not worse. Even thinking of it makes me cringe and slump in my seat. I guess if that's how people felt over Anakin and Padme's dialogue on Naboo (I didn't feel that way) I finally understand. That said I hope Luke goes buckwild in Ep. 8 as well! Also Rogue One so far (after the first trailer) is the only 'spin-off' movie I'll go to, and it's mostly due to the consistency and attempts to connect the 6 movies (prequel actors, etc.). I'm looking forward to references to those movies in a way that feels fresh, original and creative and not shoehorned like Ep. 7. For the record I hated the new Godzilla and really enjoyed 'Monsters' so this will probably make or break Gareth Edwards for me. I have always disliked Boba Fett so I won't be going to that one as of right now. You couldn't pay me to go to a 'young Han Solo' movie, especially since Ep. 4 is already a 'young Han Solo' movie. Not happening. I am now the biggest villain in the thread, sorry Chili.

Pretty surprised at how few people here know about Corgan's wrestling history. This can only be a good thing. Wrestling as a whole is pretty unbearable right now, though, but from what I've watched lately which isn't much IMPACT is the lesser of two evils at times. I just feel like there's a lot of good wrestling out there still if you look for it largely outside of the WWE. I can find things I enjoy on Impact, on ROH, On NJPW and as far as WWE goes, Smackdown and NXT are still alright. I think it's a touch harsh to call it pretty unbearable ![:P](http://www.wrestlingfigs.com/images/tongue.gif) Fair enough. I can't say that I watch anything else regularly and you raise a good point. I think what bugs me is everyone kind of trying to copy WWE as the template...it's better off when people just try to do their own thing. But it's no secret that lots of it can be pretty difficult to watch because of that influence. However, I haven't given much a chance lately so you're right.

![](http://news.toyark.com/wp-content/uploads/sites/4/2016/03/TMNT-Movie-2-Classics.jpg) not my picture, but i've picked all 4 of these up for $84.11 When these first came out, I wanted the whole set.. But as time went on I realized they weren't worth the price. They look very, very cheap.. I'd rather save my money for some Figuarts or another brand with better quality. I'm also disappointed in these, glad to see I'm not the only one. They already got me to buy the first versions, don't need another one, especially after seeing the quality of that Krang and Shredder. Also, anyone see these? They're 12 inch scale which isn't great to me but I've been waiting for these since I was 5. ![](https://i.ytimg.com/vi/2J-Iq185woc/hqdefault.jpg) If they make 6 inch versions of these, whether it's Tamashii or NECA or whoever, I'll be happy. But I'm not a fan of the Playmates, quasi-cartoony-based-on-the-films versions. I can appreciate the accessory inclusions, though. Has anyone heard any word of 6 inch versions of these? Or is that not possible with Playmates producing them?

I’m Eva Marie, and this is my wrestling ring. I run the ropes here with my red hair and my trainer, Brian Kendrick. Everything in here is all red, everything. One thing I’ve learned after 1 month – you never know WHEN someone with a cup for you to pee in is gonna come through that door.

I wasn't watching regularly before, but I am not watching WWE again until this belt either doesn't exist or has a different name. So, maybe never again. I think the 'it's not about the title, it's about what the guys are fighting for' excuse is lame and just that, an excuse. Sorry.
If you can't get excited about what's at stake, really what is the point?

Oh, good lord, no. The first movie was so awful. So much hype about a dreadfully dull non-story with bad acting. Nothing happened! They found a bundle of sticks! They lost a map! They talked to old people! I never saw the sequel - why would I, I hated the first - but at least it seemed to an actual film. What kind of horror movie does it for you? Just curious.
