Yay for me as it give chance to others who miss old releases and avoid high prices.I don't see it's a waste of spots sine it's a new line and as long there new ones in the set like that Jericho and Magnun TA.

Nay. Its like a disservice to those who supported them from the start and were heartbroken when the legends line folded.

Mattel has been rereleasing figures since the Best of 2010 Series. Its great for collectors who missed out on those figures the first time around or never found them in stores. I cannot wait to get the WMVI Ultimate Warrior.

the positive is obviously that the people who missed out on the figures the first time get a second chance and don't have to pay a crazy amount for it. At the end of the day though im still glad the people who missed out the first time get a 2nd chance. This right here. I like it. My kid is 6 years old. He watches old school wrestling with me. He likes those guys. Of course I wasn't collecting 6 years ago.

I don't see why people take this so personal: it's a "disservice" to loyal collectors. It's not as if we aren't getting a bevy of new figures anyway! This new "legends elite" series looks as if it were created for the sole purpose of selling re-issues with a few newbies (new Jericho and Magnum). Had they decided not to re-issue those figs, that set would not even exist.
People should realize that so long as Mattel can find ways to make money then the line will continue. And ALL OF US can then continue to get new figs.

If it's slightly different: YES
If it's exactly the same from head to toe: NO because it would be a waste of a spot that could have gone to someone else

Everyone bitched about rereleases clogging up the normal line and taking spots from new characters (who? Idk)
So its in its own series...yet people are still pissed

I absolutely love it, I'm getting at least 3 of the re releases. I hope they sell well so every once in awhile Mattel will do this so we can get a second chance to score some figs we missed.

personally i hate it, because i have no use for them. especially when all it would take in most cases is a different color paint...so why a straight re-release? it has to go through the same process as a new figure, the only difference is you're not designing new parts...prob just taking the old image file off a computer and uploading
but i understand the point/reason behind it

I want repaints. It can be the exact same fig but just switch the colors up some, pallette swap variants like E4 Jericho and E10 Dibiase. Everybody wins in that scenario. New collectors get a shot a the characters and us older guys get an alternate attire to drop some cash on if we want instead of just flat out passing on the figures we already have.

as far as the people who would likely complain that their older rare figures are worth less if the figure is re-released are concerned,my opinion is very much a case of too bad not my problem,im completely against the types of people who buy something looking to sell it off later for a higher price.
however,i personally dont have issues with figures being re-released as it does give people who missed out the first time a second chance (like myself as i stopped collecting elites back around elite 22 but now im collecting them again and theres a lot of things ive missed out on) but i think i would prefer repaints where possible rather than a straight re-release.

So only people buying to resell should care at all about value? I have no intentions of selling my collection soon and that's not what I've been buying for. BUT, it's a small comfort to know that if life happens and I need some money, part of my collection (or even the whole thing, depending) can bail me out. I'm totally OK with certain wrestlers getting another figure. But make them different in some way from what's already out there. Diesel? Give him his Bodyguard look. Bam Bam? Give him his classic attire we remember him best for. That way, people who missed out the first time get that character into their collections and people who already have it don't have to feel like it's a totally redundant release. Heck, maybe even then they'll buy one, too! How many potential sales is Mattel going to lose by not altering these reissues in any way? That's what I don't get.

I too see both sides. NECA is re-releasing all their ROCKY figures. I was kinda pissed, because I had them all and felt they were special. The new ones look better!
But I'm not really a seller, and never planned to make a profit from my figures, so if it makes more fans happy, it's hard for me to complain.

What I'm saying is that if I'm in a position where I need to sell my collection, obviously I would like to get as much as I can for it. For instance, I couldn't expect to get the same price for my Elite 19 Michaels, Elite 23 Undertaker, and Legends Warrior that I could've gotten for three weeks ago. Even assuming I were to price it as one must to move as a collection, more reissues of tough to find figures ultimately lowers the return.

if it means a re-release of Diesel, then YAY, as I never found him in stores and can't hold myself to spending $100 for it online

So wait, the Jericho one isn't a re-release of the Elite 20 one of him? It's a brand new figure? And if so, which era Jericho is it? Anyone know?
