The Mega Powers feud (Hulk Hogan vs. Randy "Macho Man" Savage) is perhaps one of the greatest feuds in WWF/WWE history. Starting off in October 1987 when Hulk and Randy join forces, it escalated at Wrestlemania V in 1989 with Hulk Hogan taking on the WWF Champion Randy Savage. Wrestlemania V was the biggest PPV buy in WWF/WWE history till Wrestlemania XV...ten years later. The Hogan/Macho feud on houseshows drew big money and attendance numbers were as high as it was in 1986...right up until the end of their feud in 1990. This diary is a Re-telling of the Mega Powers feud and Macho Man's title reign starting in early 1989 to Wrestlemania V and to 1990 going forward. The focus will be mostly on Randy "Macho Man" Savage as well as Hulk Hogan. This has no connection to any other of my previous diaries. Backstory of the MEGA POWERS 1987-88:SNME October 3rd, 1987: Savage was in a match against the IC Champion Honkey Tonk Man. The Hart Foundation came in and attacked Savage before he could win the IC title again. WWF Champion Hulk Hogan would save the day. After the match, they would unite and shake hands. Nov.87-Jan.88: Hulk and Savage would partner up at houseshows in six-man or three-man tag matches. TME February 5th, 1998: Hulk Hogan would lose the WWF Championship to Andre the Giant because of the two "Earl Hebners" incident. This ended a four-year plus reign of Hulk Hogan as World Champion. Andre hands the belt over to Ted Dibiase. SNME March 12, 1988: Savage took on Ted Dibiase (by this time the WWF Championship was vacant). Miss Elizabeth ran to the back and brought out Hulk Hogan who saved Randy from a beatdown by Andre, Virgil and Dibiase. Wrestlemania IV: Tournament held for the World Wrestling Federation Heavyweight Championship where Randy Savage and Ted Dibiase (who had Andre on the outside) would meet in the finals. Randy would request Elizabeth to get out the Hulkster and Randy would win the match with the assistance of Hulk Hogan on the outside to keep an eye out on Andre the Giant. Randy Savage would become the NEW WWF Champion. May 1988: Hulk Hogan takes a leave of absence to shoot "No Holds Barred" the Movie as its star actor. Both Hulk Hogan and Vince McMahon were executive producers of the movie. SummerSlam 1988: The Mega Powers (Hulk Hogan and Macho Man) w/Elizabeth take on the Mega Bucks (Andre and Dibiase) w/Virgil, and Jesse Ventura as guest referee. In what was considered shocking, Elizabeth exposed her panties, stripping off her skirt to distract the Mega Bucks for the Mega Powers to win. Survivor Series 1988: Mega Powers w/Elizabeth form a team while the Twin Towers (Big Boss Man and Akeem) w/Slick also formed a team to face each other in a 5-on-5 elimination SS match. The Mega Powers team would win. Nov.88-Dec.88: At SNME in November WWF Champion Randy Savage fought Andre the Giant in a DDQ. The feud between the Mega Powers and Twin Towers would continue on. Randy in singles would defend his title at mostly house shows against Andre, Dino Bravo, Bossman, Bad News Brown, Akeem, Haku and Rick Rude.

WWF Superstars of Wrestling February 11th, 1989 (Jan 24 taping) Convention Center, Tucson, AZ Commentary: Vince McMahon and Jesse "the Body" Ventura
Vince says that Elizabeth sustained minor injuries at The Main Event and is resting at home. Highlights shown of The Main Event and what transpired between the Mega Powers. Vince mentions that they have exclusive footage of Mean Gene's interview with Hulk Hogan after Elizabeth was rushed to the hospital. ______________________________ Hulk Hogan is standing backstage upset and worried. Gene: Hulk Hogan I must say that I have never imagined this...the end of the Mega Powers as we know it. Hogan: You know something Mean Gene, I'm not the one who ended it man...but I've been thinking about what happened brother and the only thing on my mind is if Elizabeth is alright I just hope to god she is man... Gene: Myself included and the rest of the world and we hope for the best. Hogan: I thought we were brothers man, I thought the Madness and Hulkamania was going to run wild for years brother. But to say that I'm envious...who wouldn't be Mean Gene? Who wouldn't be envious of the love between the Macho Man and Miss Elizabeth? Because I see it every day, I see it in both your eyes how much you love each other...but a guy like Randy doesn't have the guts to say it to her. I know Macho Man you love her, but this isn't about the love, maybe you're right Randy... Gene: What do you mean he's right? Right about what? Hogan: Maybe deep down inside I've always felt that the World title was mine brother. I was never pinned, I never submitted in the ring when I lost it just a year ago. It was taken away from me, I was cheated. As much as that was upsetting, I saw something great, I saw a champion in the making in you Macho Man. For years I've known that you had the potential, but you did it you've shown the Hulkamaniacs what you were all about and we all supported you and we would have till the very end brother. And now, taking out all your anger at me was uncalled for brother...I just hope you come to your senses because this shouldn't end like this man! Gene: Do you think the two of you will reconcile? Hogan: I certainly hope so Mean Gene, because of what happened tonight I am sorry Macho Man and I'm especially sorry to you Miss Elizabeth. I never meant for anyone to get hurt especially you. I never meant for this battle between the Mega Powers and the Twin Towers to go this far! I admit my mistake! It was a mistake o god...o god...it was a mistake! I'm so sorry (turns around from the camera holding his head)...I didn't know she was there Mean Gene I didn't know she was right behind him! Gene: Hulk I must ask, Randy Savage just moments ago challenged you for a match. Hogan: (turns around) And that's why I must respectfully decline. I can't do it because the only thing I care about right now is if Miss Elizabeth is okay and I hope that Macho Man accepts my apology even if the Mega Powers is no more, even if we never speak again, I can't live with myself if something happened to Liz! I can't do this right now...(leaves) Gene: There you have it folks, we'll try to get a word with Randy soon. ________________________________________ Vince: And that we will as next week on Superstars Mean Gene will be visiting the house of the Macho Man and Elizabeth. Hopefully we get a word from the both of them. Jesse: I just hope that Elizabeth is alright, but let's be honest maybe she should've never been at ringside. Vince: Managers are well aware of the consequences of being outside of the ring, so I believe she had every right to be there.

WWF Superstars of Wrestling February 18th, 1989 (Jan 24 taping) Convention Center, Tucson, AZ Commentary: Vince McMahon and Jesse "the Body" VenturaMean Gene interview with the Macho Man: Gene: Macho Man Randy Savage, I must first ask how is Elizabeth doing? Randy: She's doing just fine, resting ya resting...she won't be able to do this interview, but don't be surprised if she'll be back soon on TV. Gene: There are a few who say that a woman like her shouldn't be at ringside... Randy: Whoever says that is a fool, she has every right doesn't matter if you're a man or woman, doesn't matter. She's a manager, she's trained, but sometimes things can get rough, but she's tough, she may not look it, but she's tough I can tell ya. When you get a near 500 pounds of Akeem falling on you and she can survive that with a few bumps and bruises, that's proof right there she can. And she can do anything ya for years she's been in the back with all these big guys even if some have lustful eyes over her she can handle them all. Gene: What a woman. I must ask about your reaction to Hulk Hogan who has declined your offer to a match. Randy: Hulk Hogan...Hulk Hogan...what a piece of work. If he thinks I ended the Mega Powers, he just doesn't get it and decline? Maybe he's afraid but I need to know Gene...I need to know as the World Champion as the top of the crop if I could beat him and I will...I know I can I just know, but he's undefeated when you think of it. He's never been pinned, never gave up in the ring. I need to know Hulk Hogan you listening to me? And I'm sure you want to know too, if you could beat the Macho Man because you never had in the past and you just can't do it. And if you think I would accept an apology? Well I'll be the better man...I'll be the better man because I will accept your apology under one condition... Gene: What is that? Randy: That he accepts my challenge and we go face to face at Wrestlemania for the World title, this way we determine who is the real Undisputed Champion of the World and no more excuses Hulk, no more excuses about being cheated out of the title last year because we can settle it once and for all. You hear me Hulk? Gene: Wow...that would be something. But what if he still declines and doesn't want a match? Randy: (gets angry) Then I say Hulk Hogan go back to hollywood where you belong because you don't belong in the ring!

Lord Alfred Hayes mentions that if Rick Rude won the title, he wonders if that would mean title for title with Rick Rude vs the Ultimate Warrior at Wrestlemania V as the match is already announced. Rude is in the ring. Randy makes his way out without Elizabeth as she is kayfabe injured. Randy and Rude start with a roman knuckle, but Rude lands a kick and hip toss. He starts on a few holds on Randy, but Randy pushes him to a corner and lands a few punches. Randy whips him to the ropes and hits an elbow to the face. Randy puts on a few holds, Rude reverses with an arm hold, Randy manages to toss Rude on the outside. Randy goes to the top rope and lands a double axe handle. He tosses Rude back in the ring and goes to the top again for another double axe handle. Rude is on the mat. Randy slams him to a turnbuckle and another turnbuckle. He whips him for the ropes, but Rude counters and hits a reverse bulldog. They are both on the mat for the ten count, as they both get up on nine. Rude lands kicks on Randy, Randy grabs Rude's foot and turns him to land a punch as Rude lands on the mat and rolls to the outside to regroup with Heenan. Randy goes to the top ropes once again, but Rude runs into the ring and Randy gets down. Rude tries to land a punch but Randy counters with another punch as Rude rolls out again. Randy gets annoyed and follows him outside. He whips Rude to the railings, but Rude counters. Randy is hurt and gets back in at the eight count. Rude starts landing kicks and setsup Randy for the Rude Awakening. He lands it successfully as Alfred Hayes says this one could be over. He pins him for three, but Randy's foot was on the rope. Rude starts to celebrate as Heenan grabs the World title and runs in with it to present it to Rude. The referee tries to explain that the match didn't end, but Rude wouldn't listen as he displays the title belt high to huge heat in the crowd. Randy gets angry and does a roll up (holding the tights) for the pin. Winner: Randy "Macho Man" Savage via pinfall to retain the WWF Heavyweight Championship. Randy grabs his belt as he is about to strike Heenan who runs away and Rude rolls out. They talk trash as Randy celebrates his title win.

WWF Superstars of Wrestling February 25th, 1989 (Jan 24 taping) Convention Center, Tucson, AZ Commentary: Vince McMahon and Jesse "the Body" VenturaMean Gene with Hulk Hogan: Gene: Hulk Hogan you just heard the words of the Macho Man, I want to know your reaction. Hogan: Well first of all I'm glad Miss Elizabeth is better. As for the challenge, you're right Macho Man. Maybe it's time the world gets to know just who really is the true Undisputed Champion. I never lost the title, I was never pinned or gave up to lose it! So the answer is YES Macho Man, I accept your challenge and at Wrestlemania V, I want the one thing that belongs to me and that is the World Wrestling Federation Heavyweight Championship brother. Gene: Wow this is going to be one heck of a battle, but Hulk are you worried that this will further separate the two of you? Hogan: No Mean Gene, if Macho Man wants an apology and if this is the only way to get it than I accept brother. I just hope after I win the title that we can reconcile you and me Macho Man, but if we can't if we can't reconcile than know this that the Hulkamaniacs will never forget you brother. Gene: I have heard that Miss Elizabeth may be showing up before Wrestlemania V, do you still consider her your manager. Hogan: The first thing I need to do is tell Elizabeth how sorry I am and when that's done, I just hope she forgives me and yes I still do as I am under contract with her. Gene: There are some like Jesse Ventura (Jesse says what the heck) who say that you lusted over Elizabeth and that envy you have for Randy Savage is proof of it... Hogan: Randy would've been the first to know if that was true brother. And it's not. I never lusted over her and Randy knows it. So that's all that matters. Gene: Well on March 11th at Saturday Night's Main Event, Hulk Hogan you're up against Bad News Brown. Hogan: I'm not worried about Bad News Brown brother, but I just hope that Elizabeth comes back soon. ____________________________________________
Jesse: (on commentary) Gene needs to shut his mouth trying to put me in between these guys...because Hulk Hogan could be the next champion of the world and maybe just maybe things will be right in the world and I need things to be right. Vince: What? Jesse: Well he could, Hulk Hogan could be the next champion he's never been beaten McMahon. Vince: Wait wait...are you saying that you want to see Hulk Hogan as champion? Is this a new turn for you Jesse? Jesse: I don't know what I want to see Vince. What Randy was saying back in that interview about guys in the back lusting over Elizabeth over the years...a guy who talks like that could be dangerous. I mean it was an accident what happened to Elizabeth, Hogan obviously didn't mean it and did you see how Randy reacted? Randy is going to crack soon I just know it. As much as I hate to say it maybe the Pukester needs to be champ...Puke Hogan that's who he is. I don't know anymore. Vince: Wow...I don't know what to say but what a match it'll be on April 2nd at Wrestlemania V! Hulk Hogan will take on the WWF Champion Randy Savage. But the real question is, will Elizabeth be there and on whose side? Jesse: She should stay at home where she belongs. Vince: O give me a break. Jesse: I'm serious because the Mega Powers will explode that night and you don't want collateral damage.

But now...now you think this will be easy Macho Man? Do you forget I'm undefeated? Do you forget I've pinned guys like Andre the Giant, that I've beaten the best of the best all throughout the world? I've been everywhere Randy! I've beaten them all in Japan, in Britain, in Canada everywhere!
But to think that for one second I'll let my guard down, you're mistaken. At Wrestlemania V I want you at your best because I will be at my best. Brown says "Look at your hero, look at him begging, you think I'm gonna give him mercy?" Brown starts beating on Hulk landing punches and drags him to a corner to land kicks. Suddenly Miss Elizabeth runs out to the ring to a huge pop. Jesse: (on commentary) What the heck is this McMahon, what is Miss Elizabeth doing out here? She should be at home resting. Suddenly the Macho Man comes out to a big pop. Randy is in as Elizabeth gets close to him and he's pointing at the Hulkster. Elizabeth tries to keep both men from fighting. Mean Gene gets in the ring with a mic. Gene: Gentlemen please if I could have this moment. Miss Elizabeth welcome back (the crowd cheers as Hogan and Randy are on opposite ends backing away, looking at the crowd). Miss Elizabeth I must ask do you forgive Hulk Hogan? Liz: It was an accident Gene, and I do I forgive him (crowd cheer, Randy shakes his head). Hogan: O thank goodness Liz, thank you because I know that's the kind of person you are any man would be lucky to have you by there side. Randy: (gets to the mic fast) What are you trying to say Hulk? Liz what is this? Liz: I'm still his manager... Randy: What the heck is this! Gene: I just think she was just doing her job Randy. Randy: This is crazy...he hurt you Liz! He hurt you and he hurt me! You want to be in the corner with the likes of him? The Brooklyn Brawler (w/Heenan) via pinfall.______________________________________ Mean Gene with Macho Man: Gene: Macho Man if I could get a word with you Randy: (soft voice takes off his glasses, is almost in tears) So it comes to this...comes to this Hulk Hogan you've always wanted the title, you now got the title shot. You wanted the manager...you got the manager. But I will never let you...at Wrestlemania...at Wrestlemania V I will never let you win (shouts) I won't let you take everything from me! Gene: Are you serious in letting Elizabeth go? Randy: If that's what she wants? If she wants to be Hogan's manager that's her choice. Liz: (walks in) Please Randy...I didn't mean... Randy: You want to continue being his manager that's fine I won't stop you, but know this Elizabeth you're going to be missing on something great and at Wrestlemania V after I defend my title I hope you realize the big mistake you made. Liz: I never (in tears)...what I really want is peace between you. Randy please listen I don't want you to fight Hulk Hogan. Randy: Why? After all that he's done, after taking my spotlight, after trying to drag me into his shadows, after interrupting me at every turn, after how he carelessly hurt you...you know Liz I would never hurt you! Liz: Hogan's never been beaten...Randy please don't do it. Randy: That just makes me mad! How could my woman say that I can't beat him! I'll do it I'll prove it ya! (leaves) Gene: Perhaps Elizabeth, they have both gone so far away from each other that it'll be impossible to bring them back. Liz: (wipes her tears away with a tissue) I hope they do...and I'll be there at Wrestlemania I will be there.

The Arsenio Hall Show March 27, 1989 Guest: Randy "Macho Man" Savage and Morgan Fairchild Hall: Alright my next guest is from the world of professional wrestling, he is the current WWF Heavyweight Champion who won it from Ted Dibiase at Wrestlemania IV and on April 2nd will be defending that title against Hulk Hogan let's take a look everyone (a quick clip of their feud plays) now let's welcome the Macho Man Randy Savage! (gets a big pop a modified version of Macho's theme plays) Randy: (sits beside Morgan Fairchild) Ooo ya! What a crowd they recognize who is the true champion of the ring ya! (Morgan "pets" the WWF Championship belt around Randy's waist) I'm not a rabbit (they laugh as Morgan says she loves the belt) Love it too ya it's unbelievable, whose this guy (Hall). Hall: (laughs) You've won that belt from Ted Dibiase correct, what do you think of him? Randy: He's the Million Dollar Man so he's never been short of cash that's for sure, but we are competitors and I got nothing much to say but that you got to respect a man who admits they want your belt, unlike that Hulk Hogan who wants to hide the truth ya. Hall: I've been watching looking closely at wrestling, but I want to know why is it that you and Hulk are fighting this Sunday at Wrestlemania V. What's the real reason? Randy: Ooo ya Hulk Hogan you got to give him credit for what he's done in the WWF held the World title for four years ya...but you know I got to know you know I got to know if I could beat him ya (the crowd cheers)! Hall: But it's got to be more than that because you guys were the tag team the Mega Powers and now you're not. Randy: Ooo you know Hulk showed his true colors ya, he wants my belt he claims was stolen from Ted Dibiase last year and wants it back so we'll know who the true Undisputed Champion is...but it's more than that because he's been trying to take my spotlight ever since I wont this belt, he hurt Miss Elizabeth... Hall: But she's still managing him and will be in his corner... Randy: Stockholm syndrome (audience laughs)...ya that's what I think it is but she'll see the light when I beat Hulk Hogan at Wrestlemania V (audience cheer). Hall: Now she was your manager for years, but I mean couldn't you just replace her as a manager cause there are alot of them...or is she more than that? Randy: What are you trying to say? Hall: At some point have you gotten some maybe? Randy: Ooooo....you're talking about hanky panky aren't you, I'm thinking maybe I should have maybe that's the real problem between us ya... Hall: I want to know why are you the Macho Man? What makes you so Macho? Randy: One thing in particular and everything in general ya...and this championship belt is proof of that. Hall: What's the difference between Macho Madness and Hulkamania? (crowd boos at hearing hulkamania, interestingly, this happened in real life; Macho was still over) Randy: Hulkamania doesn't measure up to Macho Madness it's like one grain of sand from the sahara, it wouldn't matter. Hall: What has been your greatest challenge as champion? Randy: Past present and future it's this Sunday...I'll give the devil his due, Hulk Hogan's got the biggest arms in the world but these arms aren't chopped liver (flexes and the crowd applauses) you get me (touches Arsenio) I don't think you like that... Hall: It's just that you're intimidating and you might snap at me, get a flash back that I'm Koko B Ware (audience laughs) Randy: I'm not going to snap till Wrestlemania and I've beaten Andre the Giant, I've beaten all the top contenders that the former champion Hulk Hogan has faced, so this Super Sunday the Super Bowl the big one all wrapped in one ya who do you think will walk out with the belt? Hall: Well since you're here you... Randy: Well why don't you ask the audience out here...(they all cheer) ya there with me and the world is with me and I'll walk out with not only the belt but take back my woman ya! Hall: Ladies and Gentlemen the Macho Man Randy Savage!

Hercules gets the crown, scepter and cape and celebrates his win in the ring. _____________________________________________ Rockin' Robin (c) vs. Sensational Sherri for the WWF Women's ChampionshipNote: The original Wrestlemania V didn't even have a Women's Championship match. WWF Officials finally stop her as Sherri is booed out of the arena. Jesse says "what a woman". _____________________________________________ Red Rooster vs. Brooklyn Brawler (w/Heenan) in Singles competitionNote: The original Wrestlemania V match was Rooster vs. Bobby Heenan. The feud between Rooster and the Brawler should've been better built for a Wrestlemania match. Heenan really didn't have any business wrestling a match and since the match was the second last match on the original card, Heenan was legit hurt from the Warrior who dropped him too hard earlier in the night. Rooster hits the flying forearm smash at the end of the match. Heenan tries to get involved and Rooster tosses him inside and gets the Sharpshooter submission on him as the referee calls for the bell. Winner: The Brooklyn Brawler via DQ. Gorilla says it's unfair and that Heenan was the one who was interfering. Rooster gets angry at the decision as Brawler helps Heenan up and they celebrate. _____________________________________________ Mr. Perfect vs. Paul Roma in Singles competitionIn a fast paced match Roma goes for the diving elbow drop near the end, but Perfect jumps to the corner hits a superplex for the win. Winner: Mr. Perfect via pinfall._____________________________________________ Brutus Beefcake vs. Ted Dibiase (w/Virgil) (c) for the Million Dollar BeltDibiase recently introduced the Million Dollar Belt that was built for him and he challenges Beefcake to a match with the belt on the line. Near the end of the match as the Million Dollar Dream is set up on Beefcake, Sensational Sherri makes her way out. Ted Dibiase is confused as to why she's out there as he shouts a few slurs and lets go as Beefcake manages to counter with a roll up win. Winner: Brutus Beefcake via pinfall and NEW Million Dollar Champion (unrecognized title)Virgil gets in the ring to check up on Dibiase as Beefcake goes on the outside to take the Million Dollar belt. Brutus Beefcake looks at Sherri as to what's going on and she gives him a flirty look. Brutus walks up the aisle as Sherri follows him behind. In the after match interview, Brutus can't believe the amount of diamonds on the belt as Sherri walks in and blows a kiss to Beefcake. He's confused as she walks away. Jesse says she must want those diamonds and Gorilla agrees with him, but doesn't believe Brutus would be with the likes of her. _____________________________________________ The Hart Foundation vs. Honkey Tonk Man & Greg Valentine (w/Jimmy Hart) in a Tag matchThe Hart Foundation turned face and turned their backs from Jimmy Hart. Hart got this combination together to face them. The Hart Foundation manage to land the Hart Attack on Greg Valentine for the win. Winner: The Hart Foundation via pinfall._____________________________________________ Jim Duggan vs. Bad News Brown in a Harlem Street Fight matchIn a one of a kind match, Bad News Brown brings in a chair in the match as they use it on each other and it starts to get bloody. Brown later brings in a table (which he did in one of his earlier matches with the Macho Man). As Brown wants to bodyslam Duggan on the table which is setup in the middle of the ring, Duggan counters with a german suplex on the table. They over sell it as the ten count goes and they both try to get back up till Duggan manages to do so at the eight count. Winner: Jim Duggan via knockoutDuggan celebrates but Brown who realizes he lost grabs a chair and wacks it over Duggan's back as the referee stops him. _____________________________________________ Jake "the Snake" Roberts vs. Andre the Giant (w/Heenan) with Special Referee Big John Studd in SinglesThe feud was fueled by Andre's fear of snakes. Andre nearly defeats Jake, but Jake out of desperation decides to bring out his snake Damien as Andre runs out so fast and leaves for the countout. Winner: Jake "the Snake" Roberts via Countout_____________________________________________ Mean Gene interview with Hulk Hogan: Gene: Hulk Hogan it has been one year since the Macho Man Randy Savage won the WWF Heavyweight Championship here at this venue, and it was at that time that you were by his side. What a year a difference makes as you'll be facing off against the Macho Man later tonight. Hogan: Well you know you're exactly right mean gene, it was one year ago when I helped the Macho Man win the title brother. We were brothers, we were the Mega Powers as one...no one could stop us. If you'd told me a year ago that would be clashing at Wrestlemania V...I would've called you crazy. But now...the Macho Man sees it differently, now he sees us as opposites and after he abandoned the lovely Elizabeth, after I've seen his true colors, for what he is, I will beat him at his best and take back what is mine! Gene: I don't see Miss Elizabeth by your side, will she be in your corner? Hogan: O don't worry about her Mean Gene, she'll be in my corner tonight when it'll finally be determined who the real Undisputed Champion of the World is brother. Because Randy is right about one thing, I do have to know. I have to know if I could beat the him at his best and when it's all set and done, when Hulkamania rises to the top of the mountain once again, wha'cha gonna do Macho Man when the world over watches me crush you! (poses and leaves) Gene: What a match this will be back to you Jesse.

_______________________________________________ The Twin Towers (w/Slick) vs. Strike Force in a Tag matchNote: The Twin Towers were such a big tag team it would be best they would go second last especially since they were part of the whole Mega Powers breakup. The feud begins with Strike Force blaming the Twin Towers for breaking up the Mega Powers at the Royal Rumble/SNME. Strike Force showed how fast they could be against big guys, but Akeem gets the big splash from the second rope to the top for the win on Tito Santana. Winner: The Twin Towers via pinfall.Ironically, Rick Martel gets furious and slaps Tito Sanata in the face and walks to the back with Santana in shock in the ring. _______________________________________________ THE MEGA POWERS EXPLODE Randy "Macho Man" Savage (c) vs. Hulk Hogan (w/Miss Elizabeth) for the WWF Heavyweight ChampionshipMiss Elizabeth makes her way out first. Jesse wonders why she didn't walk out Hogan and Gorilla agrees with that. Liz is on the outside to watch the match. Hulk Hogan makes his way out FIRST as challengers should be, to a pop. Hogan rips his shirt and gets to a corner. Macho Man starts making his way out to a big pop that Donald Trump is even shown clapping. Randy takes off his robe and passes over the belt to the referee who displays it. Hogan and Randy are face to face till Randy pushes Hulk, Hulk pushes Randy to a corner and poses. Randy runs to Hogan who counters with a shoulder block to send him out to the floor. Savage returned to the ring and applied a headlock on Hogan and lands punches. Hogan pushes Savage again, but Savage repels with punches. Hogan blocks them and applies a headlock and lands a drop toe hold. It's a front facelock on Savage, which Savage counters into a back suplex. Randy goes for a double axe handle from the top rope on Hogan for the pin to two. Savage lands the armbar on Hogan, as Hogan tosses Savage out of the ring. Elizabeth checks up on him and helps Randy up. Hogan gets on the outside and shouts at Randy. Randy moves Liz aside and starts to land punches on Hogan. He tosses him back in the ring and goes to the top rope for another double axe handle only to be met by Hogan's fist into the gut. Hogan gets the advantage and smashes Randy to the turnbuckle followed by a running clothesline, three elbow drops and lifts him to whip him to the ropes for another clothesline for the pin to two. Hogan gets him up but Savage counters with a chinlock and lands an atomic drop. Savage does a running knee kick to Hogan who is in the corner. He goes to the top for the ten punch, but Hogan hits a spinebuster on Savage to a mixed reaction. Savage gets to the topes but Hogan clotheslines him to the outside. Savage his hurt as Elizabeth tries to help. Hogan gets on the outside and Elizabeth tries to stop Hogan from getting to Randy. He says he has to and lifts Elizabeth and turns her around towards his back. Randy runs into Hogan as Elizabeth jumps away in the nick of time, but Hogan manages to lift him and smash his back on the ringpost. Elizabeth can't believe what she sees that Hogan would do that do Savage. She's almost in tears as Randy is badly hurt. She sees a towel and wants the match to end but Savage grabs her hand and tosses the towel to the crowd. He gets back in at the nine count. Hogan grabs Savage's hair to get back up as Savage counters a punch and starts to land punches on Hogan and rakes his eyes. Randy: Elizabeth...I'm sorry...but I need you I will always need you because...I...I...(the crowd watches in awe, Randy looks around and takes a deep breath) I love you.... Hulk Hogan shoots about Wrestlemania V in 2013 Interviewer: So you did the job for Randy, how was that like I mean it must have been hard especially since odds were, you were likely to win the title for the second time. Hogan: Well I knew he would return the favor for me in other ways. For example I did pin him clean in a non-title match at a house show. But it was Vince who wanted all of this. Business was doing great but he felt that we could still make a whole lot more money if we continue to have two big faces that could really draw and we drew man. Interviewer: Weren't you promised the title though? Hogan: Yeah I was promised it back in '88 and so was Dibiase. Dibiase got the Million Dollar belt and I did think going into the Mega Powers that the belt would get back to me in fact Vince almost made Randy a heel from what I heard...but that's okay I mean sure Randy may have some resentment towards me now I mean I always considered him a friend, but whatever you know I did the job even with the promise of a title and there was no one else better to do the job for than to job to Randy. Interviewer: Did you threaten to quit or something there was a rumor about that? Hogan: (laughs) No..of course not we had a movie coming out why would I do that and than we took advantage of the movie so we drew money from it. I mean it wasn't a big blockbuster as we hoped it would be but still. Interviewer: Well since you were having a movie coming out, wouldn't it have made sense for you to have the title especially since the character you played had the belt in that movie...it may have confused some people? Do you think your loss impacted the movie? Hogan: Well...Vince and I always wanted to do a movie, he knew how I felt about doing things outside the ring and so we came up with the idea for "No Holds Barred", which we were both executive producers on it and of course I was the star actor. But the movie was a typical 80s flick, you know kinda like Kickboxer meets Rocky meets Wrestling or something and Vince felt it didn't really matter if I had the title. I mean there is a fear of losing money from the movie but we had a good finish at Wrestlemania V that I don't think it had huge impact on the movie, sure maybe it may have done better at the box office, but that's okay. Interviewer: At the time you were close friends with Brutus Beefcake, but he went heel... Hogan: O yah you know I realized he was so much better as a heel after a while and Vince was right that we could draw some money if he was a heel. So it worked really well with the story of Sherri seducing him to the dark side brother (laughs)...
